No thats a BMP-3. Will the BMP-3 be able to use the bow machine guns it has or just the one. We all should be happy that we have a new ArmA to play. I'd say its deliberate, why reveal a sweet vehicle that until release. That is true, I know that there are different Variants of several vehicles that have not be revealed - Also that some vehicles have been revealed at all. Excellent and accurate point Raphier Very possible. Just to state, here are some vehicles that appear in the videos that are not listed on the official site so far. USMC Video 00:17 & 00:33 - HMMWV Unarmed Version. CDF Video 00:20 - UAZ (DShKM) 00:23 - Ural (Open Transport) 00:37 - Ural Refuel [behind the Mi-17 tail] Russia Video 1:51 - Unknown vehicle [maybe a command BTR?] ChDKZ video 00:16 - Ural Refuel 1:04 - UAZ with AT weapon (can't remember name) Hope that helps some people who believe the revealed stuff is all that's there. BTW just looked at the official HD trailer, looks like some classic OFP civilian vehicles are making a comeback.
-
They clearly stated there was MLRS for USMC - We all seen variants of the HMMWV, UAZ and Ural in the videos, maybe they forget to mention that or just didn't want to reveal it. That would have been sweet, mobile mortar systems. Well the Eastern Forces got the BM-21. so there must be a way to accurately fire the thing over long distances. Off map USMC MLRS would be alright but I was really looking forward to the vehicle variant.

I could be any of those, BIS added extras to the Mounted Weapons Section - The Kord & MK-19. But its also for the adding of the new sections. Yeah its' possible that they are hiding some sweet vehicles. Yeah as stated the Bradley is an Army System, the USMC use the AAV and the LAV-25. They might use the HIMARS wheeled MLRS. Another valid point,

Project RACS for ArmA prestige. Good luck with the personal life my friend - you have my best wishes for you and your family.
-
There's a very simple explanation for the inclusion of certain weapons. XM8 - was originally developed for the original ArmA, It most likely won't be used by US forces. Makarov - Might be for Government and Rebels, Russian might get Tokarev post-release (The Kord was hidden on initial release of HMG info - then was revealed). G-36 - Non US weapon, but again as was pointed out to me by someone, its and OFP classic thats been there form the start. M16A2 - Same reason as G36 I believe. M24 - That one I can't explain. AK-107 - Can't understand this - the AK-74M is more popular with Russian Forces.

Modern Combat - SLX Mod version 1.1
Big-Rooney replied to Big-Rooney's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hello People. I'd like to say I've made huge changes but I haven't, I've got a bad case of the FLU that's kept me preoccupied over the last few weeks. Both I have made some changes, for one the mod will be renamed to the Year 2008 Mod or Y2K8 for short. I'm also working several model changes and bug fixes. So I'll keep you all posted. btw just some pics. U.S. Army M1025 Hmmwv with M2 (Light Shield). U.S. Marine M998 Transport Hmmwv. @Zuku1 Cheers man, I think when ArmA II comes out that will be the true end of OFP, I know I won't be playing it anymore after that. @TWCrash Will do man, I'll have a look at that soon. @SirGrey Thanks for the SirGrey. Your a real star. -
Just got back online here. Nice to see your still at it sanctuary, looking really sweet. Your skills have much improved over the last time I seen your WIP report. Hope to see more like this soon.

Modern Combat - SLX Mod version 1.1
Big-Rooney replied to Big-Rooney's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
OMG You guys sure are trying to keep my work going huh? Well I've just gotten back into the OFP/ArmA gaming series, those damn Call Of Duties just distract you plus when I got my PS3 a while ago my Computer seemed a distant memory, well I'll get right to the point. I've received some PM about the possibility of uploading the mod again so people can download if they have lost it or something was wrong with their downloads But as Zuku1 points out Filefront seems to get a thrill out of deleting my Mod of their download servers, you think for a loyal member they'd leave my stuff alone. But I've taken it apon myself to have another crack at the mod and try and fix and add some new things into the project. There is of course no time deadline on this and it may take awhile seen that I haven't touched the mod in such a long time, Have to find it first then get a look the its insides and re-learn how to do all the stuff needed to get back on track. Please don't expect a brand new mod with dozens of improvements and additions. Happy Holidays and New Year to you all, the year of ArmA2 is among us. Big-Rooney I did have one but I deleted it when I released the MCM-SLX, sorry -
Inside ArmA2 with Jerry Hopper & Lord. J.Kingsley

Nice interview. I liked he's answer to my first question about the information from civilians. "The old-lady says that see saw loads of men on big things, they might have been farmers on tractors" LOL . BTW i meant the two insurgent forces when I said that there where two factions on the island. Just too clarify. Really nice, got a lot of info about the game and its prospects. Thanks Jerry and loki for asking my questions. Cheers to Ivan. Nice Answers. Hope theres another interview. Got a load more questions. -
Remember the Addon for Operation Flashpoint ORCS T-80 pack, they had scripts that allowed their T-80U to go under water about 10 feet or so. I don't think this ability will be added in ArmA II because it just doesn't serve a point in situation like the one ArmA II is going to present, plus you might end up getting AI abuse of the script if you put it in.

The Bradley being an Army APC. I would not think so, But what a about the MEV (AAV7 replacement) thought its not to enter service until the start of 2011 so I think that's too far ahead. @Russian Armor: Will the Russians only be using new Armor units or a mix between past-to-present units, they still do use alot of the the older equipment, look at the conflict in Georgia.

Inside ArmA2 with Jerry Hopper & Lord. J.Kingsley

Q1: With the new talk system will it be possible to acquire information from locals about enemy strength and positions. Q2: There are two factions on the Island, will it be possible to play everyone off against each other by your actions in the field. Killing civilians means the local forces dislike you more. Killing enemies means they begin to respect you again. Q3: As its been pointed before, will this game be more ambient than ArmA? Will there large numbers of animals and civilians scattered throughout the Island. Q4: Will the military branches provided in this game be complete or will they be multiple branches systems like ArmA (Army, Marines, Air Force) Q5: Will the Campaign involve fighting alongside the local forces? If so will your actions have a positive/negative affect on your relationship with them (Hearts and Minds). Q6: Will the Russians be using new combat gear only or a mix of Gear from past-to-present, much like they did in Georgia. Q7: Will AI be more spontaneous and mobile or as predictable and static as the AI was in ArmA. -
The most important features ARMA 2 needs to have
Big-Rooney replied to Stryder's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
@Baddo: Yeah something like that. But combat dogs. Attack wise. @W@rdog: I agree with your statement. It seems that the accuracy in ArmA is indeed reduced when using the Ironsights. The fact that you can zoom in on standard assault rifles is unrealistic and you should be only able to zoom in scoped weapons like sniper rifles. -
Nice list. I hope its not all though. What about: 1: AC-130 Spectre Gunship. 2: Hmmwv's with TOW's and Mk-19s. 3: F-18 Super Hornet. 4: Russian Fighters. 5: <s>Russian Transport Planes.</s> scratch that 6: older style BMP's.
-
Screw it I'm getting to be part of the community for a longer period of time. + The return to OFP style theme. East v West. + Lots of cool looking USMC units. + The Russians are back !whippy! + Believable conflict and senarios. + Sequel to Armed Assault. + Can't wait to see Cameron McDonalds ACU units for ArmA 2 Lots of other reasons. I don't doubt that BIS can truly deliver on the promise of a great Military Simulator that matches OFP.

The most important features ARMA 2 needs to have
Big-Rooney replied to Stryder's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It is but the gay feeling is immense. I know the Dog is in the game but can it be used to assist patrol soldiers like in Call of Duty 4? and I know its a completely different type of game. -
It sounds similar to Iraq. There are two warring factions within the country, and two external powers fighting within the country trying to sort it out. In ArmA 2 with got the government of this Island (Can't remember the name) and the Rebel forces fighting them. Then we got the US and the Russian stepping into the conflict trying to resolve it in their unique way with outcome decided who the Island will support, East or West.

The most important features ARMA 2 needs to have
Big-Rooney replied to Stryder's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The things I'd like to see are: Campaign Story: Simple but effective story that doesn't put you in the majority of major roles, this ain't Rambo. AI Behavior: Independent AI that think fast and act humanly, not Terminator style AI that don't care about injury or death. AI Co-ordination: Co-Ordination between AI in groups. Say if a soldier needs to enter a building someone will go with him and cover him. Or if a medic is dragging a downed comrade away other soldiers cover him with suppressive fire etc. Military Factions: From what I've seen so far this appears to be OK. I just don't wanna see another ArmA I mixture of U.S. Army, Marines and Airforce. When one would have provided all necessary requirements (Air, Armor, Men etc). Immersive Towns/Villages: ArmA I had the worst ghost towns ever. Not a single civilian in towns. You had to add civilians yourself. It should be like the animal system. Some Civilians should just randomly appear in villages and towns. Less Homo-sexuality: ArmA I had the highest gay percentage of men in the world. There was only one women in the entire game and she got killed. More Females of different age and sexual appeal. Usable Animals Guard Dogs are something like that. Dogs that walk beside a soldier to help him patrol. Fastroping How about fast roping out of choppers instead of landing. In certain situations only though. I'm gonna think of some more that ArmA I was missing. -
All I can tell is how it worked for me. Started mission met the Partisan commander and began the assault. Told them by radio to attack with us. Liberated the camp (Loud speaker: The camp has been liberated). New radio command added. Called the trucks and everyone assembled at the southern gate of the base. Then another new radio command and I told them to load into the trucks (I tell them several times over radio to make sure). Every started to board the trucks although very slowly. New radio command and told the trucks to move out. It worked for me that way. You may want to retrace your steps and continue on the path I stated above.
-
Use your radio to order them into the trucks, The loud speaker guy will then tell everyone what to do.
-
I also sometimes encounter this error. Do you have ArmA patched all the way up? If so I thinks its just random what happens. The cobras sometimes get destroyed by enemy heavy weapons mounted on tanks. And sometimes they just crash or the AI refuses to move to the engagement zone.
-
The meeting is a farm near where you engage the first convoy. kill all those RAC mo-fo's and then proceed to the farm where you will learn of the second convoy, kill those and you will learn of the queen. Kill her campaign gone.
