Ummmmm... looking at your screens of the P90... you sure you got it to scale? Like... it looks like a big pistol, while in real life the weapon is exactly half a meter long. It's either that or the guy holding it is over 7 feet tall. It looks sweet tho', just get the scale right. Or try to use a guy who can't enclose a full-frame pistol (M9 slide is roughly 22 cm long... the guys hands are few cm's longer it seems) in his hands.

I'd say T-34/85, Panther or (later) StuGs. T-34/85 combined a prooven, compact and cheap design with a powerful gun, that could actually engage enemy armor at most ranges. Panther was very good thanks to its armor, relative lightness and very effective main gun, but as said somewhat lacked the reliability and cheapness Wehrmacht could've really used. Although I might have to go with the StuGs (and to some extent, Hetzer, the 38(t) based equilants) as my choice. Despite being assault guns and thus not having a traversing turret, they were mobile, destructive and very low in profile. Using prooven designs of the Panzer series, they were easy to manufacture, and as they lacked a turret they were also cheaper and lighter. They used the same medium lenght 75 mm cannons as later Panzer IVs, which could reliably take on most tanks they countered, as long as it could be traversed at the target. Finns achieved a near 1:11 kill ratio with the tanks we had, and over 12000 IIIs and IVs were produced.

1st Infantry Division
BlackScorpion replied to CameronMcDonald's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Holy shit! Checking the CP thread... excellent, amazing! These guys look (almost) more realistic than the silly fellas in US Army photos! BIS should've hired you to make the units for the game. -
Hehe, nice, Footsie... any other weapons configs/Falcon versions coming? That's 52nd Fighter Wing, right?
-
Nice, Blas! Hmmmm, didn't know you used the M16... due to UNITAF/UNISOL compatibility?
-
Yeah, you could quite sincerely say the Japanese feared them during WWII. As for the sticking with US SF... that sounds reasonable, seeing as his role was a Forward Air Controller; calling airstrikes and such. The anonymousity of the SF units also helps I guess.

TB, depends - one of my criteria when choosing my clothes is the fabric itself. Comfortable, silent (I have good ears) and durable. Good thick jeans do very well, after all, SEALs preferred jeans to their assigned uniforms in 'Nam when they knew they were gonna get wet. As for myself, I just ordered myself a Flecktarn uniform - the temperate variant without the parka - for under 15 euros, along with Bundeswehr Nomex gloves (lost the previous pair). Could still order a sling (US M1944 Universal Sling vintage), too, but... meeeeh...

Where i can found Cuban Army addons ?
BlackScorpion replied to VBCI's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Erm... Cuba is located in America, sits less than 200 miles off Florida and is surrounded by the waters of Atlantic. So... "Asian" doesn't exactly apply, despite somewhat representing the more tanned (compared to most Europeans) population Cuba has. Not sure if the Faceplant facepack has the Cuban faces from Ghost Recon; the 2nd original expansion was set to Cuba so the faces should be quite suitable when used with some OD infantry. -
Awwwww, lots of great games being mentioned that I've never played... honestly, despite technically loving Max Paynes and Fahrenheit, I've never played either. Only few missions for any Half-Life and Hitman, also. Yet... I'd say OFP, AvP, GR, Hitman and Fallout are quite high on my list. Far Cry isn't that bad in times, either. Just found AvP 1 on my HD - and tried the MP Coop mode by myself. Erm... looking for half-suicidal fellow Colonial Marines, got shredded to pieces in about 30 secs.

Reading from BBC, seems that his presence was first mentioned in Australia already last month, after which an US publication published a story, too, and the deal ("You don't report it and we let you gather a story for later time") was broken. As for HRH Harry himself, he seemed to have served as a FAC. They deployed him with a Gurkha regiment, so I'd say he was quite safe anyways. Hats off to him and the rest of the Royal Family who have served. Great to see the people working to get their respect and title as an officer, a soldier, and as mentioned to see them get a first-hand experience on the life of the "cannon fodder". As for Taliban and Mujahideen... the latter have existed since, well, the dawn of Islam atleast; they are Muslims struggling, or fighting, against any "foe" present, be it a human, country or just something else you can struggle against for your religion.

Ummmm... says the guy to whom it came as a surprise we actually do have an Su-34 released. Dunno... there seems to be roughly 750 in use by USMC. Can anyone figure out any similar, existing system?

The above reminds me of a friend living in the Caribbean who was flying a combat sim during a hurricane... Force Feedback to the max! But, seriously, woah! What's going on in here? Just last week we got a magnitude 6 EQ in Nevada, and just few days ago I saw a report of an EQ in Germany (which was mining related tho'... wtf?
-
Nah... we use TS and well, you know OFP physics. Just ran for my life trying to evade zeds and also made a LAV go airborne.

US military has it's own designation system (M-series), as do most other armies of any greater size...

Well I wouldn't know about that, Lee, most of my gaming nowadays are MP games... our coops tend to be quite hilarious sometimes. No way I'm stopping doing this!

If I have to result down to keyboard (from joystick and then mouse), the arrow keys, Page Up/Down and X/C are my controls usually...

I have 100 (and 1) pending requests atm so... I just... check if there's anything and ignore 'em.

(should be in A&M:D) Try the DKM pack. If memory serves me right it has Chally 2 in both green and des variants and also with additional armor (or DU rounds) option.

Human body and mind has amazing variance. Anyways... watched it few days ago. Not bad. Kinda hectic and sometimes hard to follow (especially as I had no subtitles), but no big issue. Fits the mood anyways. Sad she (forgot her name... Martina?) experienced what she did, but well... considering the end... Short but nicely packed film with somewhat innovative camera work, compared to the most stuff available. Can't wait for the sequel... the has to be one!

Real Life Photography/Photo Editing II - NO IMAGES >100kb
BlackScorpion replied to Major Fubar's topic in OFFTOPIC
The Nikkor stuff itself is quite cheap (compared to Canon)... also try in example Sigma. Got their 50-150/2.8 EX DC HSM lens, which is just fantastic. Costs about 600 euros (there's version II out now so the original is a bit cheaper now), won't focus on anything nearer than 1 meter but works very well past that range in the zoom range. Fast and almost silent focus, and solid structure - nothing on the outside moves unless you move it. If you won't want that I guess the 70-200 is excellent also, I think it's a Sigma too? I'd say a handheld portrait at 125 mm in low-light (midwinter, 8 pm downtown) conditions that came out sharp is pretty good. Oh, and regarding the seagulls... try pretty much any food. -
Mind putting that on YT maybe?

PC Discussion Thread - All PC related in here.
BlackScorpion replied to Victor_S.'s topic in OFFTOPIC
Errrrrr... any ideas what to do when your caps lock decides to lock itself and go, well, functionless? A girl I know has the problem, well, right now. Feels like she's yelling straight at my face. -
Technically it's not an issue as Aimpoint is actually designed to act as the front sight, with your eye acting as the rear one. So it should work on weapons without a front sight, and you adjust it to your eye. Although I just adjusted mine to align with the front sight while looking through it and shot beer cans from 25 meters away.

MH-47? 160th SOAR I think operates few. And seeing that they ferry around anyone who needs to get somewhere fast & low, or whatever the mission requires... very likely.

Nothing in comparison to the other stuff here, but something I made few days ago during a lecture: http://img206.imageshack.us/img206....MG] Pencil (.5 or .7 HB, those reloadable things) on 7x7 mm grid paper... yes the image might appear over 15 times bigger on the screen.
