As mentioned here... I would like to know specifics of this issue as we are running Queen's Gambit on our server. Is it just the QG load screens that spoil the immersion or is there anything else? Does it matter on the server side?

Co 24 Forbidden Forest - Northern People's Army must crush terrorizing rebels cowardly hiding in the forests of the North. Co 24 Royal Rescue v1.3 - US Marines and Royal Commandos & supporting arms co-operate to rescue crown prince of South Sahrani held captive in Arcadio. Co 40 Kyllikki's 2nd Time v1.3 - Large battlegroup consisting of US and South Sahrani troops operate to allow humanitarian aid to reach a city through hostile territory. Co 6 They Came From The Desert v1.2 - Paintball gamers experience a rude awakening in a desert farm they recently bough as their playground. Co 8 Insurgents v1.2 - Frustrated and hopeless bunch of Northern villagers take up arms to resist invasion by US and South Sahrani forces. Co 8 On His Majesty's Service v1.2 - British Secret Service agents are urgently called up to execute top-secret operation in South Sahrani to liberate the king recently captured in a military coup.

We have now played some of these missions on Kyllikki's Squad server and they are very well-made, no-nonsense quality missions. Highly recommended.

Sorry, didn't mean to be harsh. But basically I agree that optimizations for server-side scripts and such would be nice. I was only trying to emphasize that underlying netcode is not weak or unoptimized if you play maps which are not so heavily reliant on scripts, like big player vs player maps or basic coop. One can also question is Evolution map yet optimized as well as it could because I see frequent lag peaks when approaching cities for example. The 2% of 100mbit line you stated means 2mbit but that is only ca.0.2 Mbytes = 200kb, surely that can't be correct if you've played with more two players on your server? Ony my puny XP2500+ server 10 players on Evolution map eat like ca.600-800kb of upload bandwith and server FPS goes to 5-9.

Well, "Evolution" mission is a bandwidth hog as it is heavily scripted. I had like 8 players on my server and upload bandwith was jumping between 500kb-700kb which is quite excessive but understandable taken the nature of the mission. So you are barking at the wrong tree here, it's not the netcode to blame in that case. Regular coop missions with 10 players take usually like 150-250kb of upload bandwidth which is not that much really. And if you don't have AI in player vs player missions, I figure at least 64 players should run on proper servers.

Very nice, carefully crafted mission. Requires good planning and fields of fire in order to succeed. Recommended highly.

He's a known communist symphatizer and there is also fear that South-Sahrani nuclear weapons might end to terror organizations such as SPECTRE. Her Majesty's government has authorized MI6 agents residing in the country to launch Operation Kingmaker to rescue the unfortunate monarch from captivity at once. BRIEFING Summoned from British Embassy dinner, double-0 agents start the operation near the objective. King is being held in heavily guarded compound, rescue him and eliminate all SPECTRE operatives guarding the area. Confiscate explosives and blow up a hole to make your escape. Find means to transport him to the airport where you are to confiscate aircraft. Finally, bring His Majesty's safely to nearby NATO base in the southeast. Good luck and do be careful! DOWNLOAD

Agreed - BUT with the current ArmA sound engine my wild guess is that if the bolt operating sound is made louder it will be heard around hundreds of meters like a gunshot which of course would be ridiculous.

FPS below 20 on server is nothing bad. On OFP game was smooth on less 10 FPS.

We've had several coops on 1.05 now with 20+ people on Kyllikki's server with maps consisting of hundreds of AIs and dozens of vehicles without any lag whatsoever. CPU load on the server is clearly much lighter than on OFP On the "bad" side the AI in 1.05 is so much better than in OFP or ArmA 1.02 that we're getting beaten and outsmarted by it on several maps which are made 'OFP' style with 1:10 or 1:5 force rations...Many times human player casualties are bigger than AI's...so ArmA forces us to rethink tactics. The AI seems very eager to outflank you and they are very aggressive whenever they hear gunshots. Just AI's dropped on the map without any waypoints show significant maneuvers when they are threatened. To make it short, ArmA 1.05 offers the best coop experience ever Â

Makes AI have very high accurate shot and adds fast reflexes to it's behaviour. I think it does the same as Super-AI in OFP.

** Updated 2.3.07 ** co 6 they came from the desert (V1.2) You and your mates bought old McInnis farm which is in the middle of Sahrani desert. The place is in severe disrepair but it ought to accomodate you for couple of nights while play your paramilitary paintball games once in a while. Anything goes if there's beer available. You sleep restlessly in your sleeping bags after paintballing all day. You go through all freaky stories old man McInnis told you about meteorite hitting the desert 50 years ago and some serious shit happening after that.
