    A hostage rescue mission set on the map of Shapur, also has 2 secondary objectives.

    Contains simple briefing. has revive with 2 lives, after lives are used u enter spectate mode. Enemy are set on very hard. Be smart and take it slow if u want to live...

    in previous version some people experienced problems with thick fog obstructing their vision, the weather should be clear (possible bug). please post feedback. thanks and enjoy!

    i run combine ops but i disable the arma 2 expansion by temporarily removing the 'dta' and 'addons' folders from my directory. (this is so i cant put A2 units in a mission coz if someone is only running standalone it screws up)

    it shouldnt make a difference if u run combops or OA standalone, i think if u experience trouble its coz ur server does not have a good enough upload speed as this mission has very heavy AI. hope it works out, was great with 20 ppl

    wasnt it coz the first 2 times i wost hosting then we changed to the vma server and it was sweet? there wasnt much lag at all after that. or have u played it since?

    @thescar, might have misinterpreted before. if u were just trying to change ur gear at the start then i dont know what the problem is. we played with 20 people and it was all good the other night, try running only arrowhead and not arma2 aswell.

    sorry its first time makin posting a mission. but anyway its for OA, u dont need anything from arma2. ur a group of elite german ksk and have to carry out a sabotage and an assination in zargabad.

    iv made it so that if u have max players on (20) u can do a full assault on the town and come up against quite a large number of enemy, or if there is only 4 or so u can snipe the target and covertly carry out the obj's. ull still come up against a few enemy u need to engage but not as many.

    it all works on triggers, the only scripts running are revive and the briefing.

    P.S. when u evac, if there is a teamkiller with u the UN independant will engage u and screw up the evac, so check ur fire. teamkillers include people who kill civillians

    heaps of civillians in the town to add realism

    hey, ive got a 5970 and OA will not utilize my first gpu, 2nd is running in the 90% range.

    in the bench i got 30fps and 40 when vsync is forced off... in arma 2 on same settings i get 58 and 72 when vsync off.

    done my research and tryd everthing under the sun so not asking for a solution but rather asking if u can PLEASE FIX IT IN THE NEXT PATCH.

    very strange... well weather it will fix ur exact problem or not, i would go buy a good cpu cooler (thermalright ultra 120 is prolly still the best) and get ur cpu to atleast 4ghz. from 3ghz to 4.6 for me made about 15 - 20 fps better in arma. some say it doesnt make a diff after 4.2

    i just fired up operation arrowhead and wouldnt u know it, im only getting usage out of my second core lol. BUT it is at about 100%, havent noticed much performance diff because normally both cores go at bout 70%. instead i have 1 core workin overtime. i tried -winxp and it did spread the load over both gpus but made the game run like absolute crap.

    u got any other ideas? going to make a seperate thread bout it

    ive pretty much got the same rig as u man, i7 950 @4.6 - xfx hd 5970 - same mobo - hx 1000watt -same ssd but 80gb and only one (win7 ultimate 64 - arma 2) - catalyt 10.6

    although its overclocked to the shithouse and its all watercooled.

    my point is (anyone correct me if im wrong) a 5970 card is a single card and yeah its dual gpu but u dont need to crossfire them?? i can pretty much play arma maxed out (not view dist obviously, and AA at normal). doesnt give 60fps in dense areas or firefiight but otherwise its sweet at 60. i dont use the win xp command.

    looks like ur keen with pcs so why not overclock that monster cpu, thats what it was made for lol

    also when i look at gpu z or msi my gpu usage on both cores is heavy, like 80% when theres alot going on in the game.

    ide get to the bottom of it if i were u, all that horsepower and its not doin shit... that rig is monster, there is something wrong - try narrow it down to see if its ur rig or arma by running benchmarks (3dmarkvantage - u should be gettin around the 30k mark)

    EDIT: is arma on ur ssd? u got latest firmware? if so what result do u get when u test ur drive with crystal disk mark.

    ay hammer, i was contemplating ur method but need some enlightenment. ive never dlded a game before, so whats the go with the cd keys n stuff? the general picture i had was that u can only use em once... or is that just steam? its very important coz bout every 6 moths i will do a fresh install of windows. or will it just be the same as a hard copy?

    i hope to god i can help u.... i recently reinstalled windows and had sound issues but was gobsmacked because it was working fine on the previous install. after days of new drivers, new software etc found out the problem was simply a device on my comp conflicing with armas sound. in my case was my logitech headset. because it was usb it acts as its own sound driver (or sumin like that).

    go to control panel- hardware and sound- sound, and make sure NOTHING else is set as a default device (even if its default for a different function). the green tick indicates default devices

    my logitech was set as default communication device and that was my problem, i can still use it if its not the default device
