  1. thanks for clearing up the raid 1 and 0 differences. still I don't see any bad points to raid 0 re the maintenance issue. any hardware can fail at any time, it hardly a reason to not do something (like over clocking for example). in this link it shows double the performance of read and write when in raid 0 http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/51455-intel-520-240gb-ssd-raid-0-performance-review-3.html also I do understand that certain things will not give much benefit in games, but theres nothing wrong with making your computer as fast as it can possibly go. if you do 10 tweaks that each give a 1% performance gain, then youll be running 10% better than you were before. and arma being the only game I play, im gonna strive for the best possible performance within a reasonable budget.

  3. @Arrow - best to just find some guides on tweaking the graphics settings in game. sadly KOTH is very hard to get decent performance on, try access the player menu and put your view distance right down. Other than that, a general rule of thumb is that AMD cpus aren't very good when it comes to arma, so I wouldn't hold your breath in being able to get a good framerate in MP, (especially KOTH) on another note, I need some advice re a small upgrade to my system. current specs CPU - 4770K @4.2ghz 16gb @ 2133 2x gtx 780's stock intel 520 series ssd 120gb 500gb raptor hard drive now I will be changing the CPU to a 4970k as soon as I can, and at the same time I might change to windows 8.1 (thoughts? any benefits for arma?) Also was thinking of with upgrading the ssd as I need more space, or just buying another 520 series and having them in raid. what would be best? thanks
  4. just use a loop with skiptime? while (true) do { skiptime 1; sleep 1800; }; think that's right, will skip forward an hour every half hour... executing that on the server and having the clients sync to it is another story

  9. hi guys, have tried searching to no avail. is there a way to disable the players RUN or SPRINT toggle? I am creating an in game briefing/ intro and it would be good if they were forced to walk slowly for a certain amount of time or in certain areas... thanks

    that's strange, what resolution and screen size u running? I hope this doesn't happen to other players when watching the intros. where u see 1, 0.75 - the 1 refers to left and right and the .75 is height. so u just have to play around with it ---------- Post added at 11:10 ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 ---------- its weird because the values should be relative to your screen, placing it off screen just doesn't make sense. its as though you are playing the game with a limited view of what u are supposed to be seeing...? maybe play around with ur video settings if its a problem

    lucky for you, one of my favourite things to do lately is create intros for our MP missions. here is a link to my compilation so far now in the first intro the text I used is bis_fnc_infotext. here is an example which provides mission name, date, and location (location only works on stratis or altis, will read "near camp rogain" etc) [str ("Mission Name Here") , str(date select 1) + "." + str(date select 2) + "." + str(date select 0), str("Mission Location Here")] spawn BIS_fnc_infoText; info_text is the old method. bis_fnc_typetext is far better [ [ ["UKRAINE"], ["JUNE 2015"], ["1700hrs", "<t align = 'center' shadow = '1' size = '0.7' font=puristaMedium'>%1</t>", 70] ] , 1, 0.75, "<t align = 'center' shadow = '1' size = '1.0'>%1</t>" ] spawn BIS_fnc_typeText; in the above, the "70" is how long all the text stays on the screen. it is not 70 seconds, 70 is probably 10 seconds or so. you don't need all that fancy stuff, I set it up a while ago and forgot what it means, but that's how I got the text to show on the bottom right. here is an example that will show the words "hello" in red and underlined [ [ ["<t color='#ff1111' underline = '1'>HELLO</t>", "<t align = 'center' shadow = '1' size = '0.7' font='puristaMedium'>%1</t>", 70] ] , 1, 0.75, "<t align = 'center' shadow = '1' size = '1.0'>%1</t>"] spawn BIS_fnc_typeText; good luck!
  12. I was just wondering, would it be possible for the mod to save the player state if they disconnect? Currently ppl can disconnect when in revive mode and load back in and not be in revive mode.

  14. anyone having issues with downed units going invisible when u try to revive them? I tell them to start moving again and then I can see them, but I go to revive and the same thing happens. I am using the "only medics can revive" option. only happens sometimes, but when it does happen it doesn't go away after i am running -showscripterrors but no error shows.
  15. Hi, sorry i havent read the documents yet but i was just wondering why each player in a group has the backwards radio that cannot be edited and the team leader has the normal one? How do i make it so everyone has normal short wave radio?

    calm down, yeah it might be a little rude but we are not a bunch on posh socialites here... im just saying how it is, the mod is good but the reload issue ruins it, especially in PVP when u think someone is nearby due to hearing it. even if the fix is the vanilla sound, it would have been better to use that then the current one. I really do appreciate peoples efforts, but one thing I have learnt in life is that males try harder when they are criticised or have competition, where as females do the opposite and need encouragement to do better, so naturally I went for the former :)

  19. I have noticed when everything is working normal, that AI still try to engage u even in revive mode. this indicates he is not (intentionally) using setcaptive.

I didn't used to get any errors with this mod, but now just like the above post I get an error (not all the time, it seems random) when trying to revive someone. from memory the error is undefined variable _unit, line 54 or 56 or somewhere there. it is hard to reproduce as it doesn't happen every time, but the script it was referring to was something to do with bleeding (bloodeffect.sqf maybe?) also 1 of our guys dissapeard during a revive, only happened once. other than this it has been working great so far! thanks

  22. not sure if this has be reported, but are you aware that the server key that is supplied is from your arma 2 mod? its dated 2012 and our server completely freaks out if keys are turned on when that key is active... please fix asap

    Lol polymath didnt u start a whole thread on this knd of thing only to be shut down by proven facts? Forgive me if im mistaken. And for the record im not suggesting SP is the only way to get good frames. Ppl that buy the game for massive battles etc and get dissapointed with the outcome should take a step back and think about what the game is actually trying to achieve. Its a military simulator, to get the most enjoyment u need to join a coop clan and play realistic missions. Any good clan will have decent servers that run smooth (and cache scripts so the ai are only present when within a certain range). Not everyone wants to play this style but this is what a3 was meant for and you will not have performance issues.

    There isnt a problem if u have a good computer and know how to set it and the game up properly, and dont expect great fps from public servers running 24/7. Cant beleive ppl are still bitching about this stuff. Heres a brief guide: Amd cpu = shit Cpu less than 4ghz= shit gpu less than 680 = shit high viewdistance = shit public servers = shit Poor pc maintenance = shit no ssd = shit Thinking that arma should perform like other AAA titles because ur ignorant = shit Too many AI in one area = shit not directed at anyone in particular, but to those still complaining about performance if u follow that guide u might just be surprised...
