Custom faces/squad.xml - how to do it in ArmA2?
Auss replied to Rebel@heart's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I used the same image from ArmA 1, simply changed my Id and uploded the xml file and my squad logo appears on all vehicles and soldiers arms. -
Get them to goto the options tab and they can disband a unit to free up a slot :)

Auss replied to bloodbomb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
We've had a ArmA2 server up at OGN for a week now :) The lads are getting exited for the Aussie release. Our forums below http://forums.ogn.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=886 -
Mr Burns, I noticed on your memory Tab with CPUZ your running Asymetrical, you should be running Symetrical. You might wanna check your slots for correct placement

ARMA 2 DE 1.01 (final) Impressions - Post ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Auss replied to funnyguy1's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The more I look the more I really like this game, The random game logics are awesome, the new patch has really improved the stability and FPS on my PC. The island looks awesome, excellent work BIS!!!! -
I remember in OFP we could add/delete missions from the server, you would simply start another mission which would allow you to do what you wanted with the mission you needed to remove/change. I notice in ArmA this isnt possible as all missions are locked regardless of them being played or not. Also the naming arrangements of ArmA missions, The old system of naming missions in OFP was much easier for server admins. As it stands now the file name of the mission can be different to the ingame name.

BIS - Can we have seperate Volume controls for the VOIP Volume? As it currently stands VOIP Volume is set under the radio control which makes it difficult to adjust as you get the radio sounds over the top of Voice chat.

Multiplayer in Arma 2 - Is Warping (Lag) and Cheats still an issue?
Auss replied to garack666's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Mate i think your server specs or settings are rooted. Warping is rarely seen on a server that is configured correctly -
My point is I dont like the radio on as I get sick of the Ai babbling away, plus I can see what their saying on screen. I would mearly like to have the option of having the radio off but still maintain volume in the VOIP chat.

Best way to set up "compatible" hosted server
Auss replied to desertjedi's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Judging from your posts I assumed thats what you wanted to do. If you have a dual core pc you can run the server.exe on one core and run your game on another core, (using affinity) it works quite well -

Sound and Graphic enhancment mods are client side only. You can turn off key checking in the server.cfg. Have a look at the ArmA Wiki it will show you a list of options that you can do to customise your server. Only problem with hosting at home is make sure you open the correct ports and setup port forwarding, you will need a good upload speed too if you want say more than 3+ players to join. -
505 Version: Release Date & Other topics - EU/Aus/NZ/SA/ME/Israel etc.
Auss replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I'll be buying it online then I'll buy a hard copy when itd released here (maybe thats BIS ploy so we buy 2 copies each..lol). Doesn't really stress me too much that we wont be getting it in the shops soon. When ArmA was released we at OGN all bought it overseas and had it shipped to Aus -
Pack of rusian architecture (Version 1.0)
Auss replied to SMERSH's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
We were using this pack in the Australian island but found them full of errors, missing lods etc, We had to remove them all which is a shame as they have huge potential. I do hope you decide to fix them -

I got the same response when I asked at EB Games in Melbourne 2 weeks ago, the salesman said its not on their upcoming releases. Typical :( -

Performance of Server 2008 Standard vs. WinXP vs. Ubuntu Server 8.04LTS
Auss replied to mr.g-c's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Agreed. The E series is a wonderful cpu to OC. I have my gaming rig E8500 running stable @ 4.22 Ghz, Stays cool even on hot days, I highly recommend them. I'd like to see your results if u could setup an XP box in a VM session -

Auss replied to icebreakr's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
You dont need invisible road lods accross a bridge, I use terminators a each end of the roadway where it meets a bridge and it works fine -
when you have coded more than 7 and have another 5 to go then we'll see if you change your thoughts..LOL A north/south or east/west runway is easy, its the angled runways that take the time to sort out. When I refer to something being a pain in the butt I mean its boring, time consuming and tedious :)

I'm not sure why this would cause problems I looked at the sara config and mearly used it as an example. Heres part of my config.cpp showing the airports. I have included 5 of them here. startTime = 11:30; startDate = 01/05/2008; startWeather = 0.1; startFog = 0.0; forecastWeather = 0.3; forecastFog = 0.0; seagullPos[] = {1272.84, 150.0, 14035}; centerPosition[] = {21744, 21570, 340}; ilsPosition[] = {30611.3, 11290.4}; ilsDirection[] = {0, 0.08, -1}; ilsTaxiIn[] = {30769, 11368.6, 30769.6, 11260.9, 30730.4, 11211.2, 30619.7, 11211.8}; ilsTaxiOff[] = {30611.3, 11290.4, 30612.9, 11997.1, 30664.2, 12008.4, 30731.8, 12004.5, 30728.5, 11500.4, 30769, 11368.6}; drawTaxiway = 1; class SecondaryAirports { class ausrunwaysydney { ilsPosition[] = {35340.4, 12373.4}; ilsDirection[] = {-0.754709, 0.08, 0.756059}; ilsTaxiIn[] = {35323.1, 12218.2, 35192.5, 12351.8, 35261.3, 12436.1, 35340.4, 12373.4}; ilsTaxiOff[] = {35340.4, 12373.4, 36229.2, 11483, 36207.3, 11431.1, 36159.8, 11387.5, 35323.1, 12218.2}; drawTaxiway = 1; }; class ausrunwayadelaide { ilsPosition[] = {24888.6, 13053.1}; ilsDirection[] = {0.524709, 0.08, -0.958059}; ilsTaxiIn[] = {24688.2, 13665, 24990.9, 13119.7, 24957.6, 13078.6, 24883.4, 13063.1}; ilsTaxiOff[] = {24888.6, 13053.1, 24516.2, 13730.1, 24546, 13789.3, 24612.7, 13800.5, 24688.2, 13665}; drawTaxiway = 1; }; class ausrunwayBrisbekistan { ilsPosition[] = {37320.3, 20173.1}; ilsDirection[] = {-0.9659, 0.08, -0.2588}; ilsTaxiIn[] = {37943.4, 20464.1, 37232.1, 20273.8, 37225.3, 20210.8, 37262.7, 20157.9, 37326.8, 20174.6}; ilsTaxiOff[] = {37320.3, 20173.1, 38071.7, 20374.4, 38093.2, 20408.0, 38074.2, 20479.6, 38049.8, 20492.8, 37943.4, 20464.1}; drawTaxiway = 1; }; class ausrunwaydarwin { ilsPosition[] = {16428, 34117.3}; ilsDirection[] = {-0.9563, 0.08, 0.3360}; ilsTaxiIn[] = {16637, 33916.8, 16310.6, 34028.7, 16295.5, 34057.7, 16321, 34133, 16365.8, 34139.5}; ilsTaxiOff[] = {16428, 34117.3, 17290.8, 33820.3, 17323.8, 33784.5, 17298.3, 33710.4, 17273.3, 33697.7, 16637, 33916.8}; drawTaxiway = 1; }; };
