    Arma 3 Units - Feedback thread

    Yeah some links to some squads still work. Others, nothing. I emailed their support but i assume thats a black hole. Maybe it's down for a big update or adding more functionality.
  2. We're a small group of mature players who play arma in a casual and fun but tactical setting. We play a mix of coop and PvP... whatever seems fun.   3. Hi guys, I know what Im trying to do has been done before. But after searching the forums I am unable to find it. I am working on a jet dogfight mission where players can fly through the "hoops" (used in the helicopter time trials) to instantly rearm, refuel and repair. I'm pretty good with copy/pasting scripts and code into the correct fields. I just can't code personally. Anyone know how this feature can be accomplished? Thank you!

    [TvT 54] Takistan Rumble!

    Awesome work on this guys. I don't think ive been this excited for the tourny Campaign to start in a while. I really hope this game type takes off on pub servers. Its the ultimate team work TvT mode.
  6. As Th3Flyboy mentioned Theatre of War (AToW) is gearing up for our Campaign 4. First we will be conducting an ArmA2 Beta campaign to thoroughly test our map, weapons balance and a new resource system. We are currently performing a player draft, allowing all (new and veteran) soldiers to select the army and equipment of their choice. So if you're new to the game, or looking for an organized way to play ArmA2, this is the time to jump in! Its an exciting time over at AToW. Now is the time to sign up and check us out.     Flight Sims X/2004/lockon etc..

    This is a great thread, glad to see it going! FSX is an awesome "game". I have learned SO much about the actual details of piloting since getting it. The greatness of FSX is you can either just start the game, hop in a plane and fly. Or you can crank up the realism and control ever detail of your flight. A book I can HIGHLY recommend is Microsoft Flight Simulator X For Pilots Real World Training. It walks you through flight training from the Cub to jetliners. You'll learn about flight techniques, air traffic control, navigation and tons more. No you don't shoot anyone in FSX, but you'll be so engrossed in actually flying you wont miss it. And yes, TrackIR is awesome in FSX.

    ArmA: Theatre of War - GOING LIVE

    Campaign 2 Begins Immediately It seems that the peace talks between the Americans and the Russians have failed. The leaders of both Armies have left the negotiations in disgust and have vowed not to return. The UN intervened before things escalated out of control. Through talks of compromise, the UN has done it's best to keep the peace between these Factions for several weeks since they last clashed. Yet retribution for losing Sahrahni in the US grows more powerful each hour and the spite from the Motherland, for desecrating their soil with foreign occupation, is too strong. UN has exhausted every possible avenue to create peace with these Nations, but after so many failed negotiations, talks have now since ceased. The UN fears the silence coming from both sides indicates preparations are being made. Another conflict, at this point, is imminent. Seems there will be one "LAST PUSH" for Sahrahni. Because of these latest developments, It is with great sadness and regret that we must once again ask you to leave your loved ones behind and fight for the honor and glory of your country. ARMA Theatre of War's Last Push: ATOW has once again used their unique objective and resource system to design a new combat zone for their players to fight over. The new objectives will be linked together with many other features including sounds, hitches, artillery, etc, all with the goal to encompass what ATOW is all about, having fun. The Campaign will begin immediately this week Sunday August 3rd with a full 3 hour scrimmage both teams time to prepare for war over the new battlefield. Then on Sunday August 10th at 17:00 GMT: WAR WILL BE DECLARED; making this "Last Push" a battle that will test the spirit and strength of both sides to the bitter end.     RHS Hind v1.0 for ArmA

    @ShadowNX - did you get the pbo file from the PM I sent you alright? To those who are crying about all the real world facts they looked up about the Hind: Im all for realism to the letter also. But at the end of the day, its a game. If it were 100% real, Cobra's would never have to fly over a Shilka. It would sit at the other end of the island and launch hellfires, killing the targets. To help some understand why we changed some of the things we did, I invite you to sign up in the Theatre of War tourny (arma-tow.com). Then you'll understand completely. Players play to have fun. Its not fun for guys who play as infantry grunts to just be pounded constantly by indestructible helos. There had to be some give & take for game balance. Anyhow, stop by, check it out and i think you'll appreciate it a bit more. Anyhow, RHS now has the pbo work we've done back in their hands. Im happy we at AToW could contribute to the ArmA community by improving a very popular mod. I look forward to whatever RHS does with the Hind when its Re-released. See everyone on the battlefield!

    Yeah we were all gaming on TS when suddenly the UK guys all start yelling and swearing. LOL One said his monitors where about to jump off his desk and he was really freaked out. You could tell something big just happened. They were really rattled.

    This has been changed. I would say its now on par with a BIS helo and the weight to speed ratio feels more correct. For those anxious to pick apart every detail of the RHS - AToW Modified Hind, Id like to give a few more technical details on some of the changes. Of course it may all change once I re-submit the Hind back to RHS and ShadowNX for any future release. From what ive been told by the modder Im working with on this model, the armor ratings on the body, engine, main rotor and tail rotor have all been set slightly higher than the Cobra's. Meaning it can take more small arms fire, without blinking. One example was the Cobra has a body armor rating of 60. We set the Hind to 65. We tried higher, but it took 3 full reloads from a Humvee .50cal to damage the Hind. That seemed a bit much, when you compare it to all the other helo's in the game. Now, sustained ground fire will cause a fuel leak and could kill the engine. A direct blast from the Cobra's nose canon will knock out the rotor. In other words, its still a pretty tough bird. But you can't just hit auto hover above your enemy and fire away. You'll be dead. Improvements since MY VIDEO went up are things such as; * Small black compass on the the top of the pilots cockpit frame that used to be stuck on South, now is working. * The Attitude gauge (horizon gauge) was accidentally reversed in the vid. Got it fixed. * On the pilots console, the Air speed, Altitude and a couple other of the small gauges are now working also. * We put the original 12.7mm nose canon back on. But changed it from the weak buck-shot type pattern to a more focused and damaging fire pattern. Its lethal! * Ru!ner, the modder, is working on cockpit glass that is a bit like the Cobra's. It can take a couple rounds to protect the pilot longer. (He said it will take him some work though, but he's good) * As mentioned, armor ratings on rotors and engine were increased for MP game durability.

    Then fix it yourself. For our playing environment, it works perfectly. AA kits are limited per side and so are scoped weapons. The Hind is a devastating bird even with non-bulletproof glass. Shooting the pilot out isnt as easy as you think. So basically, we'll giving it back to RHS with what we've done and they can take it from there. But we fixed the things we thought needed fixing. Don't like it? Big deal.
