  1. quick reskin of the BMP2 in Russian Camo, figure Russia probably has a boatload of these things still around. Gonna add some more rust/dust and align the camo on the texture then try to figure out how to config it, i just replaced to tex of JehzusScream's iraqi BMP2 to test it out.

    What Do These Mean?

From top to bottom I believe they are: Purchase Light Vehicle Units Repair/Refuel/Rearm Vehicles Not sure about arrows, one of them is probably fast travel Supply Drop Artillery Air Strike
  4. I have a E8400 Oc'd to 3.6 (does it pretty easily on stock cooling and volt) 4GB 800mhz G.Skill GeForce 8800GTS 640mb run pretty well on mine, although i really thing the overclock on the CPU helped alot (i had mine on 3.2 as well before) id imagine since your gfx card and ram is better you should be pretty set. Anyone have any experience with the GTX260? Its getting pretty cheap now, been contemplating getting one.
  5. Speaking of project reality, one of the reason they became so popular was because of regular updates. I think thats one of the most important things to remember, mods seem to attract much more attention through medium size releases every few months, rather than giant content releases every 8-12 months or so. ACE 1 did a great job of constantly updating every couple of months and i hope this continues in ACE 2. Good luck to you guys, I can't wait to play it!
  6. 1.09 is what you are looking for i believe, there should be a full 1.08 install, and then a 1.09 patch and you are good to go.
  7. after importing over some of the .pbos from ArmA 1, i got OPX islands to work, Avgani looks stunning as ever (runs great too) and i dare say looks much better with the bloom than chernarus. Some are with 200% fillrate some arent, hence the low FPS. Only Issues i ran into were the terrain and horizon (epically at sunset)
  8. Chernarus snowglobe  where is that tower by the way?
  9. just a little wallpaper i threw together, not sure if i got the spelling right, was too lazy to check once i got in photoshop.

    ArmAII-Mark

    Intel C2D E8400 @ 3.6gHz eVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640mb 4GB DDR2-PC6400 G.Skill Ram Running at 1680x1050 disappointing, to say the least
  11. In objective based gameplay respawn is required when you don't have massive maps like ArmA. I guarantee you remove respawn it will just become another counterstrike, cod, and yes, AA "lets find a corner to camp in so now its just a glorified deathmatch". Sure it will still have realistic weapons and such, but there will be no teamwork encouraged. Some of the maps also have imbalances that play into the respawn, such as attack/defend where defenders have superior positions but attackers have more "respawns" available to them. The only flaw i think that could be addressed is increasing spawn times for classes such as machine-gunner and sniper, so staying alive would be a priority. But for you're average rifleman whos going to be the ones storming the objective, their respawn would be shorter. At the end of the day its not who inflicts the most casualties but who controls the battlefield.

    Radiosound + Mouse Lag Problem

i also experienced this problem when i played at a friend's house, at first i thought it was just low fps but we found the game was running fine. It was irritating trying to hit anything. While limiting such things to heavy weapons such as 50 cals and grenade launchers on vehicles in turrets and pintle mounts would be great, putting that kind of lag on something like a carbine seems overkill.
  13. frankly RO is one of the best games ive ever spent money on. I think a lot of people got turned off because they saw it and thought "oh another WWII game", selling it that short is like saying ArmA 2 is just COD4. A very dedicated group of people went into making the game and many of it's features (weapon resting, very good bipod deployment, swapping MG barrels) has yet to be implemented as well (if even at all) in most other realistic shooters. I agree that perhaps respawns could be lengthened but totally removing them seems a bit overboard. I fail to see how people said RO looks bad compared to AA? They look practically the same. Anyone who is part of these forums should know anyway that graphics =/= fun. Its only real drawback is fairly small and restricted maps that often get nade spammed, although i highly recommend the Darkest Hour mod that adds much more open maps. I await HOS with baited breath, i just hope TWI doesn't make the game too "user friendly" to the point it alienates the original fans, but TWI doesn't seem like the people to do that.

i can only hope americans buy this

heh it still is, except now its all warfare and domination. Either way people still just go for the first thing that flys or has a telescopic sight on it. I still laugh at all these "Ultra-realism Clans" that play nothing but domination all day every day with 3rd person and crosshairs enabled. Back when the 72nd was around people were completely lost on our server without 3rd person to fly helis and not seeing their position on the map. I've found found a good amount of US players on the Tactical Gamer server (if you're not a fan of ACE though i guess you're out of luck) And i get a surprisingly good ping (30-60ms) for having sometimes 35-40 players on it. Im sure they'll have a server up for ArmA II that US players should get good pings on.

im a bit hesitant to buy ArmA 2 on steam, I love it for valve's games, and Red Orchestra has been great with steam, but i fear there might be issues with modding and getting updates working on the steam version. Anyone care to share their experience with ArmA 1 on steam?

    Flight Sims X/2004/lockon etc..

heh if you can land a Bf-109 in IL2 you can land just about anything, took me quite a few broken gears until i was finally making consistent landings. Me and ColSandersLite usually get some small coop games going a couple of times a week if anyone is interested shoot me a PM. Currently playing thru a Soviet P39 Campaign, great plane to fly imo.

    River in ArmA 2??

personally im more excited for the cows. I think BIS should rename the game FARMA: Farmed Assault. Farming simulators clearly are the future of the PC platform

    Track ir

my TrackIR just came in today, been having a blast in IL2 with it. Im still iffy about its use in ArmA when on foot. Probably have to mess around with profiles some more.

    FP : DR - News & Discussion

id really be excited for all the mod possibilities if games like OFP2 and the new BF games weren't butchering the player counts for MP.

    Track ir

Im not sure if you would know this Dslyexci, but is Natural Point working on a new TrackIR by chance? I ask this because i was also considering purchasing one because I've been playing quite a lot of IL2 recently, but I was curious as to whether i should wait a few months in case a new TrackIR was being developed.

    GTA 4 / PC

i found that setting my resolution to 1024x768 seems to give better performance, it doesn't look the greatest but it works. The free play MP mode is also very fun, just doing stunts and shootouts with the cops with friends is a blast. my windows LIVE screename is: ThePieSpy
