Rockstar screwed this port up pretty bad though, install was a nightmare, MP didn't work for the first few days. I still can't play it with teamspeak running or my audio gets screwy.

i think its just mainly a technology restriction. Doing things like hit detection for 100s of players would just be too much i think. Thats why so many MMOs are turn-based.

Careful about this. In the newest release of Project Reality (BF2 realism mod) they added head movement to animations. All in all it looks really cool, but quite a lot people get motion sickness from it: http://www.realitymod.com/forum....nt.html Is it just me or does every single thing added to PR nowadays result in a fan-outcry? seems the PR team sometimes has a nasty habit of changing things that have worked well for a long time for the sake of change. But he has a point, for the first week or so i actually got a bit disoriented before i got used to the animations, and I'd imagine some would be much more sensitive to it than me. I'd gladly sacrifice that bit of realism if it meant it wouldn't stop some people from playing the game.

beat the main storyline on Friday, but reverted to an earlier save so i can keep playing, god what a great game. lets get some pics of your guys characters up! http://screenshot.xfire.com/screens....36c.png the armor im wearing is "Medic Armor" that lets you know when enemies are near with inspirational quotes such as "let em eat lead!"

atm im addicted to fallout 3, but honestly i wasn't impressed at all by far cry 2. The intro made it seem like "wow this is going to be great!" then they just shove you into the game world. For me at least, its just become repetitive, it like: Get mission, shoot 30 people and fight off 10 landrovers chasing you before you even get to your damn objective because everyone hates you in Africa, kill everyone there, rinse, and repeat. I've resorted to taking the bus anywhere i go just to avoid the sheer annoyance of the checkpoints and random people trying to ram me with their hatchbacks. the animations are cool, but the "pulling shrapnel out with a knife" ones only seem to work in combat, in which case their useless because an enemy will just walk up to you a blow you away, so you usually have to run away and do the much less immersive "shove syringe in wrist, health magically restored" animation. Reminds me of Crysis, once you get past all the visuals, you look and see that its just the same FPS formula done up in sparkly HDR and motion blur. Game had a lot of potential, but like most things Ubisoft inherits, they ruined it completely.

i think johnny's SF look great with CMCD's units http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/ThePieSpy/acu.jpg the SF acu could be darkened a tad and maybe a slight blue tint, but honestly if you dont look closely you cant tell the difference. -
i (think) i like the footage im seeing coming out of GC, but it'd be really nice just to get some straight video of ingame instead of washed out and fuzzy camera shots of the monitor

hopefully ArmA-2 will actually have AI retreat when their group gets down to about 1/3rd strength, or even better, join up with other squads. Im sick of getting pegged by the last remaining member of a squad who decided to just go prone in the middle of a fallen tree and never move. Mission makes should be able to set a retreat zone or direction for each group, would make for cool assaults as AI falls back to different phase lines of defense. Id also like to see armor crewmen hightail it out of there when they bail, i don't see any crewman in their right mind that would run into combat with nothing more than a compact assault rifle and 4 magazines of ammunition.

it has recoil, but that recoil doesn't affect the second round in the burst because it leaves so quickly after the first, while firing two rounds in single would.

Well said dsl and sig, people are being extremely childish. Ive seen many mods fail because they released an early and incomplete project because of pressure from the community, and no matter how many times they told them it was a beta or demo, people just say "this sucks" and never looked back.

Hello everybody! I've been talking with my clan leader, ColonelSandersLite, about starting a co-op night hosted by the 72nd Blackheart Battalion catered to a North American player base. Awhile back we enjoyed a multi-clan coop with the 506th PIR and the 20th SFG that was a blast. Most likely it would be on a Friday or Saturday evening. Upon browsing the forums I've seen multiple events like these, sadly most players in North America cannot attend these because of time differences with the European coop nights. This would ideally be open to both other clans and just random ArmA players who enjoy playing larger scale organized ArmA co-ops. I dont forsee any problems with clans answering to their own COs ingame, or even allowing public players to take the reigns in leadership of a mission. Our only real requirements would be that you have teamspeak, even if you don't have a microphone, to help facilitate communication, are willing to listen to orders from other players when necessary, and can have a fun time while playing. We would really like other peoples thoughts, comments, concerns, suggestions, death-threats etc on this. Please reply to this thread, or post on our forums over at 72nd Homepage or pop in teamspeak @ 64.27.15.49:8809 (no password) if your interested in getting something like this together.

i dont know if you could apply this to putting scratches on the spec-map, but for example on this BIS GP30 re-texture i did for practice i used a 1-2px brush, either using the dodge tool, or a 50% gray brush and setting the layer to linear dodge. you could also try looking for some metal-scratch brushes. -

was great fun when i played it last night, but unfortunatly something with the save file got corrupted because every time i try and load it back up ArmA crashes and gives me an error message about how it cant find autosave.ArmASave -
