September 1939 Mod team is happy to announce it's existence and plans to depict the events that marked the beginning of the largest armed conflict in the history of men. Our small and busy team consists of: Marekmodel Jaksa Sejtan - all of the above responsible for 3d modelling and textures + myself doing texture work On September 1st 1939 armed forces of the 3rd Reich and a small contingent of Slovak army invaded Poland without any decleration of war. With no action taken by England or France (who both joined the war on September 3rd) the Polish Army was left to fight the Nazi force and counter the Soviet invasion that followed on September 17th alone. The organised polish resitance has been broken on October 6th. Below (mainly due to the pictures-per-post limit) we present a tiny fraction of what is being currently in the works. Just to give you a sort of a general idea. With more and more progress achieved more WIP reports will surely follow. Polish vehicles - part 1: A comprehensive list of the vehicles, arms and units planned for the Polish, German and Soviet sides will follow; As the list is going to be a really long one; we'd most probably be posting up some recruitment advertising soon; stay tuned

I'm quite busy in real life now, but last time I checked my progress on it was like: https://scontent-b-fra.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t31.0-8/10648741_10204659674842606_6447782804932330443_o.jpg

I'm a father of two, next week already three, girls with no time anymore to spare for modding. It was nice while it lasted, but was too engaging. I invested too much in it, while my attention and focus were needed elsewhere. It's a hobby and should not consume your time, sleep, nerves; all that you'll never get back and you're not getting younger, right? Soon turning 35, so tough choices had to be made, a line needed to be drawn. W39 was, at the end, too much effort for one man with very little gain.

Sorry folks. No comments from me on this matter; whatever it is being discussed at the moment (TLDR, sorry). Mod legacy has been passed on, it happened, end of story. Has it been passed on to right people?; honestly - I may have my little or bigger doubts, but even more - I have no idea. Truth is they were the only ones interested (mildly put). Haven't I had a sudden change of heart - all of the mod contents would be shift-deleted, I was quite close to doing that. Only with respect to the original team's work in mind have I decided to spare it's such fate and buckled. Point is; I am no longer involved, nor am I interested - even less in your private/team/clan squabbles or personal attacks. I would be more than happy if not being dragged into anything like this. My respectful and well deserved place is in credits, not on a witness stand in your discussions. Also, basic netiquette would require to keep your dirty laundry for yourselves, drop the blame-game in public and do not even hint at a faint possibility of discussing private correspondence we had the other day to be openly discussed, moreover, to be used as bargaining chips or ammunition against your adversaries. That's not how I roll, sorry. Thank you for your time and for letting me know to avoid this thread now.

What JonPL and others said. Soronelite - Thank you for this quality work, really looking forward to try these out asap. -
Had some time during the weekend and this is what I came up with ;) Once the Vilas civilian and military addon packs are successfully ported to A3 I'd like to have this released, with proper permissions, as a seperate Altis Enhancement Pack; The vehicles are contemporary to 2013, so they still should look fairly OK in the near A3 future. Planned (and partially done) are: fictional Altis Police Force, Firefighters, Taxis, Buses (I will intend to do a lot of variations for the coaches - it'll fit the Greek Vacation Simulator thing for sure :P) etc. I have also started to adapt some selected assets from the NPL addon, dressed as the AAF faction. Mainly softskins and ambulances so far (don't intend to do any heavy armor besides a few APCs or armored cars) 1. By doing so it'll not compete in any way with Vilas' Polish Army addons; 2. these Polish trucks look ubercool in this camo and maybe it'll someday turn out to be a RACS-like minipack ;) As much as I liked the Zamak truck in A2, as it's a great model with beatufilly crafted textures - It kinda stands out and does not work for me as an AAF vehicle... I'd rather see them equiped with something European and exotic at the same time. Polish trucks and prototypes of other vehicles seem fitting for the purpose. Anyway; as it's (for now) just a private use project and the vehicles are merely A2OA addons played via the AllInArma mod it'll be a while until it reaches the final stages. Nonetheless I will expand the pack (doing parallel work on civilian and military assets) and report with progress. Once Vilas' packs are here to stay with A3, at least all the textures will be ready and waiting ;) Hope you'll enjoy. http://imageshack.us/a/img94/1227/uag4.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img18/1210/x7de.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img6/8032/1n0c.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img28/1124/j098.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img812/9289/28o2.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img6/8766/yd6m.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img543/6192/arxk.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img834/9243/h4uj.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img713/9631/ibal.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img837/115/ibeg.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img17/2484/b1fe.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img543/8470/8yij.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img819/2826/d1zn.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img547/617/syye.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img19/1773/t2bq.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img534/7306/3xnt.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img6/4599/3xzr.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img405/4764/h28x.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/2219/l01jx.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img850/1043/qr5z.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img9/2549/4ib8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img689/3035/zjo1.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img202/6510/wuet.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img694/8803/u01k.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img819/885/16ux.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img163/6493/01f8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img191/2438/nvd8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img809/8558/sqm8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img20/654/s4ga.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img96/664/qcfc.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img4/862/5m6q.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img854/1542/1o2t.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img849/4370/j00h.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img443/2795/3z2g.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img850/3796/ew5y.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img692/6091/dccy.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img196/5559/sh15.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img266/2067/u6g8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img802/5843/g3m1.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img708/3228/5yxj.jpg

well, I do sporadically, in fact. Retired from active modding I do this as a little private project. If the results are ok I will give it to Vilas to include in the A3 version of his mod, where quality and detail would need to be raised significantly. Having the unique opportunity of access to Vilas' models in MLOD format I couldn't resist to try fixing some of the issues that always bugged me; mostly shadow lods. I reworked all of those including almost all attachements to a vehicle's body (mirrors, antennas, hinges, etc, etc) so shadow lods are the most detailed imaginable. Not sure if this is performance friendly, but this this for my own perverted pleasure. With some of the models I decided to replace elements with more detailed ones, like more round headlights, smokelaunchers, added some stuff that was missing or simplified in the original version (like replacing .nohq elements with proper 3d models). Having the privilege of exclusive-on-demand access to source files (.cdr/.psd) I was able to redraw the original textures from scractch alongside with improved .smdi for detailed scratches, reworked nohqs for better tyre textures etc.) and decided to use the newest camouflage pattern introduced 2013/2014 (sand/olive/black) instead of the mid-90's (brown/green/black) used earlier. Below some examples (watch in full resolutiuon/size): I also experiment with adding functional army licence and ADR plates, tactical signs, numbers, emblems, decals in general. Again; this is a private effort with little to none time to really devote to; so rather a proof of concept than an actual release aimed project.

I do not own the game yet, but am extremely eager to see what the combat photography impressions of those who already do are. Nota bene, a similar thread would need to be started sooner or later, I presume. Same rules as with other CP threads on BI Forums apply. Remember, this is for Iron Front: Liberation 1944 user made screenshots only. As always, hotlinking images greater than 100kb is not allowed, and anyone breaking this rule will end up with their infraction level raised. Also: Please, no discussion here about the screenshots. "No images over 100kb" in the title and in the forum rules is a strict rule - all images over 100kb will result in a +1 infraction from the moderators, post 5 images >100kb and that's +5 infraction so an instant perm ban. Be aware that all posts with images over 100kb will be removed without further comment by moderators. Do not post screenshots that give away any campaign spoilers, doing so risks an immediate ban from the forums. Follownig the rules established for earlier CP threads: All replies without an image will now be met with warning and then infraction increases, use the all new "Iron Front: Liberation 1944 Photography I: Questions, Comments, and Discussion" thread. Post beauty shots of the vehicles, characters, landscapes and landmarks, be creative! ;)

The reason why Y straps where present in our aplha was simply, because it was an alpha :) It was to be removed in later versions (the models LODU donated came with it already). Once Vilas came along he helped us in editing the models and the Y strap was gone for almost all models, except the few that still were historically correct for 1939 (SS Verfugubgstruppe und some Unteroffiziers in selected units wore brown-leather Y straps that came from the SD). Here's a whole bunch of photos documenting the Y starps actually present in the Polish Campaign ;) http://odkrywca.pl/wehrmacht-1939-mp-38-i-szelki-,642402.html It's not like they appeared as standard equipment out of thin air, the equipment needed to be field tested somewhere earlier, right? ;) -
Hi folks, as it seems the most addons we'll be seeing now will be retextures. I myself am, just for fun, working on something that'd look Polish, based on a Wz.93 woodland pattern 'Pantera'. Scarecrow398 has been extremly helpful and generous with his time and skill to help me make these standalone, so most probably I'll be publishing it sometime soon in the 'discussion' section. That's what I got so far (tested on ITA SOF, as it supports headgear). Anyway; long story short - what's on the pics above you'll find below as .psd files. It's not perfect as it was a quicky just for fun and most probably there'll be another, better template-sets popping up soon enough, but maybe someone makes use of it to produce his/her own stuff a lot faster, just by replacing the woodland layer with a desired camo pattern. Package includes 4 .psd files, which should be enough for simple retextures. There's not much layers there and you should find your way pretty easily. armor1_co.psd clothing1_co.psd equip1_co.psd vests_rgr_co.psd DOWNLOAD: PSD templates (206MB) Enjoy, have fun and be creative;)

Vilas has no French military vehicles in his packs. Two British vehicles (Scorpion and Trojan) are already there. -
Just one thought; shouldn't the boots be affected with all that extensive amount of dust on trousers? ;)
-
Damn, can't believe I missed it! Now eagerly waiting to come back home in the evening to try these out! :) It's very tempting to play around with the mlods and textures, but I already have one unfinished mod I'm hiding from, lingering... would not be able to pick it up. Yet, if anyone decides to continue, feel free to PM for some September1939 assets that may be helpful here (as far as I'm concerned combat boots, horse riding bootsand backpacks with folded blankets/trenchcoats did not change that much and could be used; especially those Prussian fur backpacks). :)

topas replied to topas's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yeah, the Abrams seems a good compromise, although, as I written in the opening post I'd rather have the AAF rearmed with some European armor. Yet, the M60A3 would be an interesting experiment, I should try to do it soon (maybe the older equipment could belong to some rear AAF units or a sort of national guard). My first thought was Leopards though and I had the 2A5 since the beginning, but it was too sloppy done to be shown. Need to rework it and we'll see how it fits. As for jets and unimog versions; sorry, I'm only working with what I have - Vilas released models - and there's nothing of sorts in there. If, in the future, this was to turn into something like PRACS, then why not include the work of other authors. For now I'm just doing the textures, maybe once the models are properly ported and overhauled this could be a base for something bigger, incorporating other 3rd party assets. We'll see, for now it's just casual fun ;) -

AAF+civies (retexture of Vilas addons)
topas replied to topas's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
@DarkSideSixOfficial None of this models is mine - it's all work of Vilas, his addons developed so far for ArmA II / Operation Arrowhead, so I have no real influence on how they're constructed, sorry, I'm just doing retextures of selected assets. The originals may be seen in one of Vilas' threads here, or on his own dedicated forums -> http://www.createforum.com/vilas/ PS. And actually it's not a MI, but a design developed by a Polish aviation company PZL. It's called W-3 Sokol. The general configuration though is similar to Mi-2 as W-3 was meant to serve as a replacement for it. Ok, will correct my post then, sorry for ignorance. @all Had little time since posted last time, but managed to doodle this and that. Especially happy that I managed to make the emergency services complete with ambulances now done. I also did some more rust and wear to the previously shown Police cars, included a little extra for the Altis International Airport and, wonder what your thoughts are on adding the good old M1 Abrams and Unimog to the AAF? http://imageshack.us/a/img33/8145/f1wi.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img826/277/38gk.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img30/8831/coz7.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img849/2658/47qz.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/1205/bktf.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img28/4906/bzuk.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/6515/v0gj.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img850/7605/7vnc.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img23/9420/xeen.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img5/9185/hoew.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img823/9990/lrz7.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img716/7230/gd8p.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img202/1088/hxqw.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img15/491/cuqa.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img51/8213/78x3.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img593/9582/99o5.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img12/8278/ievh.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img33/618/zae3.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img21/5665/2iar.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img703/5885/5vwa.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img202/1959/vqoi.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img689/1680/9zyp.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img30/692/pex5.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img17/1507/jw5b.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img4/5158/m4q0.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img138/3084/jqgo.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img199/7530/o1o0.jpg -
To save time you can easily use the psd templates I made, based on the wz.93 pattern. No permissions needed as it was made public. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19170 There also was a cleaner version included in Soronelite's E3units -> http://www.moddb.com/mods/e3-units/images/e3-units7

Great to see this on the horizon. The presented IFV looks top-notch, but that'd be to be expected from anything labeled BWmod. Anyway, will you be doing contemporary Bundeswehr hardware or will try to aim at the ArmA III default future setting by introducing some current prototypes or concepts (like MAerder 105)?

I'm doing some more stuff as we speak, older western equipment (British/German), if I'm happy with the results I add those to the variety. As for the release; well, the requirement is to have the original Vials' addons ported to A3. Don't know who'll be in charge and how long it takes. If it takes too long - I'll just release a .cfg based retexture pack for the A2/A2OA version that will be possible to use via All-In-Arma. That's Vilas'work. What I'm editing for the AAF is only the .paa textures. -
