    Is there a patch?

    I know lots of people have asked when the next patch is coming, and BI's answer has always been "when its ready" All i want to ask is, does this mean there defiantly is another patch going to be released some time in the future for arma? Because if there isn't, fair enough. i'd just rather know. Many thanks Raven PS, Please don't turn this into a BI bashing thread.
  2. Dear Community I have been searching the forums for an answer to my question for some time and have still found nothing that actually stops the problem. I don't know if its just something hardwired into the code and i just have to live with it or if its a fixable problem. The problem of which i speak is the Warping/Stuttering of AI experienced by clients (but not the host) during multilayer games. I am sure a large number of your are aware of what i mean, I have tried the various advice present on the forum about altering my arma.cfg etc but although in some cases this can ease the problem it is never eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level. What i would like to ask is how are other members of the community coping with this problem? is there a work around i haven't heard of? Any advice anyone can offer is welcomed. This problem has been plaguing my coop games for a long time and has turned a number of people off the game as Long range gunnery and sniper play is almost laughable. My server.cfg is; language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=1.000000; Resolution_W=800; Resolution_H=600; Resolution_Bpp=32; MinErrorToSend=0.0000001; MinBandwidth=76800000; MaxBandwidth=100000000; MaxMsgSend=512; MaxSizeGuaranteed=1024; MaxSizeNonguaranteed=64; MaxCustomFileSize=1600000; Any Help offered to this would be wholesomely appreciated, even suggestions and guesses are welcomed.     Warping/Stuttering of AI in Multiplayer

    Thank you everyone for their replies @crawler75; I have implemented the new changes you suggested, this may have slightly reduced the warping effect but it is still makes sniping over 200m a joke (unless target is stationary). I'm very heartened to read that the problem has been recognized and is being addressed. Now I'm going to ask the fabled question, Does anyone know when this patch/fix will be released? I'm assuming the answer will be "When its ready" :P but thought i might ask just in case.

    Jumping/warping AI

    The problem i have is the AI warping/jumping when viewed at a distance or say through a sniper scope. doesn't really effect average play but makes life hell for snipers or tank gunners. Is there any fix out there for the warping? i've tried fiddling with the minerrortosend, i've tried fiddling with the min bandwidth and i've tried fiddling with the maxsizenongarenteed. none of these seem to effect the warping at all really. Any help on this would be wholly appreciated, as its really killing the game play for snipers and tank gunners. Many thanks Raven

    SQF revive script

    I have tried including revive into warfare, but sofar the revive part seems to work ok apart from warefare's own revive forces the player to respawn. When killed the unconsious message comes up and the player model is lying injured, but after 13 seconds the warefare revive forces the player to respawn. I'm not terrably gifted with scripting or mission editing, is anyone else planning on making a revive enabled version of warfare?

    FOV and map problem

    Firstly i'd like to say i'm really happy with the new 1.14 patch, especially the warfare game mod, been waiting for a decent CTI for a long time. My problem is i have changed the FOV in my arma profile because i don't like the zoomed in view it has since 1.12, only problem is, now the map screen seems to have some issues, my mouse cursor and the mission briefing book don't match up, when i click on a tab it thinks i'm clicking off the ledger and to click u button i have to click about 1/2 way down on no tab at all. what i'd like to know is, is there a way of keeping the in game FOV without messing up the map? maybe setting the FOV of the map diffrent?     Is there a way of getting Revive working in Warfare? it would be absolutely awesome if it were possible to have that for LAN play.

    i have min error to send set at about 0.001 and still i get warping, have even tried 0.00001 and still the same, it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference, not for my anyway.

    would anyone be willing to either send me or link me to a modified plants.pbo ? as i can't seem to get mine to modify the files correctly. I'd really like to start using this mod so if anyone has the time i'd really appreciate it. many thanks Raven

    I have tried installing this on villa arma, so no lowplants or any other mods installed at all, a completely fresh install with only the updates installed. still exactly the same error, i really don't understand whats going wrong. i followed the instructions exactly as described, extracted the mod folder to arma directory, ran the .bat file from in the tools folder then just added -mod="mod name" to the command line. does noone have any idea whats causing this? someone eariler in the topic mentioned something like it. was there never a solution? i used to have lowplants installed before the reinstall, could that somehow mess things up???
  11. Have been trying to play arma over lan with a group of friends, keep encountering the same problem tho. I host the session Using one core to run the dedicated server and the other to run the game (which still plays perfectly smoothly) my friends all join the game, but when we are playing we all sometimes get the little yellow chain in the bottom right hand corner and while the game still appears to run fine, the AI and each other all appear to start to do random things like walk through walls or drive around in circles etc. After a few seconds of this (maybe 30 or so) the game just pings back into being normal again. everything appears to work fine again for maybe 2 or 3 mins then it occurs again. the chain only appears when crazy stuff is happening, and it doesn't appears thus far to follow a pattern, it happens whether we are flying around or standing around. its almost like each player is being desyned with each other, but surely that shouldn't happen over Lan? and presumably my rig is enough to hold its own as a server? My system is; 2.67 Ghz Core 2 duo 2 Gig pc 6400 Nvidia Geforce 8800GT Any suggestions and comments are appreciated. Many thanks Raven

    i think i've fixed the problem, i wasn't linking the arma.cfg to the server properly. it seems to have no desync now, so thats all cool. The only problem i have now is the warping/jumping AI in the distance. doesn't really effect average play but makes life hell for snipers.     Atm my arma.cfg is set up like this, it is slightly modified i think. MinErrorToSend=0.000001; MinBandwidth=320000; MaxBandwidth=100000000; MaxMsgSend=512; MaxSizeGuaranteed=1024; MaxSizeNonguaranteed=32; MaxCustomFileSize=1600000; I am right in thinking this needs to be in arma.cfg not in the server.cfg?

    we tried evolution, after it went funny we tried quarenteen as we thought it might be a little less taxing, then when that didn't work we tried a much smaller mission with only 4 of us attacking an SLA base. The randomness always seemed the same.
  15. I always remember the russians having the most feared tanks in OFP, just doesn't feel the same in Arma with the SLA T72 being so heavily outclassed by the Abrams. Is it possible to bring back the T80 from OFP and put it into arma? something to rival the Abrams? i know alot of ppl complain about the in balance between SLA and US, maybe something to even the odds a little.

    I fixed the problem, somehow deleting the mission markers and re creating them solved the problem. So for in future if anyone finds them self randomly being spawned in the ocean, try re creating ur mission markers related to the spawn script, respawn_X, boot_hill etc etc

    I'm having a little trouble with the revive script. the revive script in itself works perfectly, the only problem is using the re spawn at base function. whenever i choose to re spawn instead of being revived i am re spawned at the bottom left corner of the map in the middle of the sea. I have added the following markers to the mission; Mission_start Respawn_west Center Boot_hill (and game logic - server) and have added the scripts to init.sqf and description.ext and customized the revive.sqf. i remember reading somewhere there was a reason for being reportedly to the bottom left corner of the map (something to do with removing bodies passably). Any idea what might be causing this to happen?? i don't understand why i'm respawning at the other end of the map when there is a perfectly valid respawn marker on the map. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated Many thanks Raven

    I have tried 3 diffrent download sites for the mod, have extracted the mod to my arma folder, run the .Bat and then added the mod to the start up. By default i have -World=empty so it doesn't crash immediately, but when i go into mission editor and load an island, it loads, but the second i move the cursor it CTD with the Warning error mentioned above, always the same. i've tried generating multiple plant.pbo's and using diffrent download sites (armaholic both mirrors, filefront and arma zone) all result in the same error message the same way. this is with a fresh install of arma running only this mod someone please help

    Map Screen Problem

    I seem to have a problem with my map, i try to click on the heading on the notebook and the cursor shows the Red cursor for clicking on the map, and if i double click will place a marker on the map underneath the notepad instead of clicking on the notepad tab. The only way to click on the tabs is to click about 1/2 way down the notepad. it seems like the cursor is out of wack with the notepad or something because it works fine for placing markers on the map, just goes crazy for using the notepad. Have tried running villa arma and still the problem persists. the only thing i can think that might be causing it is I changed My FOV after installing 1.12 to get the old FOV back. but surely that shouldn't screw the map? Any help offered would be greatly appreciated Raven

    Map Screen Problem

    is there a better way of changing the FOV rather than going into the arma profile thing?? bis must have had a way of doing it and not screwing the notbook when they changed it between 1.09 and 1.12 or is there a way of resetting the notbook FOV to match the new FOV???

    SQF revive script

    Hello all, I'm not exactly brilliant at scripting, and I'm trying to get my head round using the revive script in a mission I've made. I seem to be able to get it working bar one bug, whenever i join the game as any player, i spawn in the bottom left corner of the map, in the water and whenever i re spawn i re spawn back there. i have no markers or anything in that area of the map so i have no idea why it keeps happening. Any idea why this might be occurring? the only markers i have on my mission are Start_mission Game logic - server Respawn_west Boot_hill Center all of these are on the island itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    does noone have any idea how to fix the error problem?? I have a fresh install of arma, I have only this mod running and i have tried it with 1.08 and 1.12, both have exactly the same result. Whenever i load up the game normally i get the error message; Warning: preNLOD format in object ca\plants\palm_03.p3d" if i add the command -world=empty the game only crashes when i load up a map Warning: preNLOD format in object ca\plants\ker deravej.p3d" for ramadi and Warning: preNLOD format in object ca\plants\palm_03.p3d" for sarahni this only happens when i'm running this mod, simply disabling it solves the problem but i would really really like to use this mod as the AI shooting through tree's is driving me crazy. would someone please help? any suggestions are welcome and appreciated

    I've been having real problems with getting this to work, i have reinstalled arma and installed the addon exactly as described (including lowplants 1.1) it all seems to work fine and all patcher runs fine and everything, but when i go into arma and try and load up a map, i get a CTD with the error message "Warning: preNLOD format in object ca\plants\ker deravej.p3d" Can anyone help?? really would like to play with this addon working
