FFUR Incoming HUGE RELEASE !!!
Thunderbird replied to Thunderbird's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
well wait and see we'll give a lot of time to test more and more Edit : There weren't any CTD or message error in the latest release , it was just a missing cargo anims that we've fixed though We will be sure that there won't be any error , we will play whoe BIS campaigns. Info : we will incorporate the campaign Operation SharkEye 2.2 done by Charlie Howarth to show you the differences between before and now , and also because this campaign is great and fits perfectly with the era 1985 Best Regards Thunderbird84 -

FFUR Incoming HUGE RELEASE !!!
Thunderbird replied to Thunderbird's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well we will release woodland packs at first (FFUR 1985) (FFUR 2005) There won't be any islands in these packs , it has been done in the goal to enjoy people who still like BIS ones but there would be an extra island pack which will overwrite BIS islands , we will make for ya a backup though, unfortunately even 4 years later , it's still quite hard to replace BIS islands without geting troubles (AI driving like insane , choppers crashing against trees , missing intro xxx blabla...). In any way these 2 packs do work perfectly on all comps Then we will publish the so awaited (FFUR 1985 Desert) (FFUR 1985 Winter) These packs will bring a nice touch to ofp , islands have been replaced without overwriting BIS ones , these both packs will work on 99 % of comps but the still remaining 1% is intended to some comps which won't recognize ofp "paths" and will occur a "missing intro" thingy... Unfortunately we can't do anything to resolve this problem except removing islands and making a small change in the cpp but you'll play with desert units on green maps : ( , what's for a shame.... , we've tried more than once to take out this problem with the help of Sanctuary and a bunch of other experienced people but unfortunately without any result , my apologies to this 1% of people : ( And Finally comes the (FFUR surprise pack) . <span style='font-size:7.1pt;line-height:100%'>Do you like that hugest mainland near Greece ? well I love it</span> ... Time between each release ? well , maybe 2 or 3 minutes , or maybe less than that , lol Here's the list of effects for all packs Best Regards Thunderbird84 -
Well good luck and thanks for the whole stuff you've done for the community Can't wait to see you in ArmA Best Regards Thunderbird84

Well we still don't know if we will release pack after pack or all packs at the same time , the ffur2005 is totally finished though and it's so far my favorite total conversion pack btw there would be very soon mysterious pics showing the "surprise pack" and ffur2005 one Best Regards Thunderbird84 -
Well the current camo seems pretty good and doesn't need much enhancements By the way , is there a chance to retexture Hyk soldiers by your camo ? Regards Thunderbird84

Hiding dead body action isn't a script but just a line that you'll have to add to the wanted "class soldier X" , it's the following one : Regards Thunderbird84
-
Definately no , not for cheating or something but it will make harder making changes in the cpp and other files and to use them online. in any way , I think it's too late , I'm pretty sure ArmA is finished Regards Thunderbird84

Hi buds, Greg147 , I've changed the flare script for choppers , now if you have a nice angle to take out the chopper you can do it without any problem , the flares value has been reduced from 100 % to 40 % to make more realistic the game, it's definately random The release is very close , we still have to finish only the expected surprise Best Regards Thunderbird84 -

FFUR Incoming HUGE RELEASE !!!

Hi all, Well Kyle_K_ski; FFUR Gear's based on real life equipement used by both armies from each era ; we can't add more extra weapons , it would be useless and will break a bit the realism even if it should be funny; plus we do our best to avoid the use of "useless scripts" which can decrease the fps in game ,one should not forget that there are a lot of people who have comps lower than 2.5 ghz. Well , as 456820 said , we do use a bunch of weapons done by these both great addons makers. This is due of OFP's engine limitation , there are several scripts which have as objective to allow to AI walking/runing correctly around and inside structures but they do use a lot the command "near" which occurs a lot of lag in game , and especially when there a bunch of units using it at the same time, if you check carefully this thread , you'll notice that we do our best to avoid the use of "scripting ways" in the goal to reduce at best as possible the lag for low comps , we mainly focuse on important scripts which can also enhance the gameplay like (Explosion effects , etc) FFUR is based on WGL values (Armor,Penetrating values, bullets speed and power) , we try to make a balance between realism and gameplay because as I said more than once , Extrem Realism -> kills the gameplay and definately breaks BIS campaigns. Focusing only on gameplay -> totally kills the realism and makes ofp like Doom or CS games. We expect to do that , so here are the new name's folders : FFUR 1985 woodland -> ffur1985 FFUR 1985 winter -> ffur1985w FFUR 1985 desert -> ffur1985d FFUR 2005 -> ffur2005 FFUR (surprise) -> ffur(surprise) II Yeah , but it is very hard to find suitable addons to replace BIS ones without breaking the gameplay , ex : Several people asked to replace the A-10 by the super Hornet or the F-16 , unfortunately both of these jet fighters don't have the same " Ground Strike" power than the A-10 , so it may break a bunch of BIS missions , for this point , I think we made a nice and authentic list of changes , have a look : The realism list is very long and we will update it very soon There would be very soon a lot pics showing the FFUR 2005, stay tuned Very interesting offer , thank you but what's the necessary time to make it ? Best Regards Thunderbird84 -
no they wont! i saw'um first.. back off!!!!!1111 'saw'em first but prefered to not to reply ... perhaps to let you a chance.... In any way , Again , Great work Lsr

Yes , for all weapons there would be new ironsights. Thanks for that info-link Chipper, I'll check it carefully in the goal to find a way to make some nice changes Well after discussing with an (Ex US military) , we'll definately still keep using the ch-47 though MH-47 -> Special Forces MH-53 -> US Marines CH-47 -> US Army Best Regards Thunderbird84 -

FFUR Incoming HUGE RELEASE !!!
Thunderbird replied to Thunderbird's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well the huge black part we've added around the scope has as objective to remove the transparent "zoom*X" which occurs while aiming with sniper riffles , Unfortunately we can't make it transparent because it will break the realism , and we can't add a "font Texture" too. However even if it's hard to use sniper riffles now , I think we've done a small step in realism's way , after checking several scopes in my city's arms manufacture , it's so far close to what Benus has carried out. I think Sniping would be a real art with these ironsights In any way thanks STGN for the suggestions. Hey buddies , I don't think we'll incorporate the grass , at first because it occurs a huge lag on comps lower than 2ghz , plus it appears everywhere , even in houses and over the roads. it won't work correctly as script incoporated in the cpp's EH but it would perfectly work as trigger in missions. Yep Silesian , we'll make a try Best Regards thunderbird84 -
Hi mates ! As you know FFUR is entirely based on '85 era , but it seems the majority of people do prefer modern units , so I would like to have your opinion ! By the way , Actually the majority of best addons ever done for OFP are mainly intended to the current era, so if you want FFUR will make also a Total Conversion pack based on 2005 Gear then we can do it We will use the best addons (RHS , ORCS , Laser,...etc) Realism will still be controled by military advisers (Sapper Dan, Uziyahu...) Effects will still be the current used FFUR ones Reven will be in charge for Readme , installer , etc Config , Scripts , GUI , addons selections are still of course my job ! Keep me informed Best Regards Thunderbird84

Yeah , I know , pappy told me about it but I think it's best to still keep hope , do you know its price ? everybody would take part in grabing that shilka for the community : D (jk) Real life 1 Real life 2 Real life 3 Real life 4 dunno if it's due to my eyes , but I see a bunch of reflects on this chopper , we try to do the same in OFP even if it isn't so easy to have the same thing from real life, we can't achieve perfection though.
