In my judgement, it would be interesting to establish a sort of 'MANTIS' to collect people's suggestions in order to improve what needs to be enhanced [Regarding all aspects = (Realism/Authenticity/Gameplay/Effects...)] before the game reaches the golden status. I think that BIS needs to hear now more than ever people's feedbacks, even if the game is still WIP, but the 'WIP' status doesn't justify everything and is way to get ride of my apprehensions concerning some significant aspects such as: - Destruction physics. - Realism Details [Animated Firearms models/FLIR/Wrong Loadouts/Wrong Marines Gear/Wrong Osprey Engine simulation...etc] - AI reactions in Open Areas [They just need to be slightly improved by making them hit the dirt automatically and hold their position by using the different elements close to them without standing up or advancing]. ... ETC In fact the WIP status should be used as a great opportunity to take into account people's suggestions to further improve the game. Regards, TB -

ArmA II seems to follow OFP direction in terms of immersion but it could become a grand game if the developpers pay some attention to a bunch of details: - The voiceover (even being unfinished) needs to sound more human-like, I guess that Ohara's statement was more oriented to the technical aspect rather than to the basis of the issue in question. The community made 'DSAI' system is rather representative of the expected result. - Making AI able to drag wounded will represent a great +, and this is quite doable, since this feature was done by the community (By solus specifically) since a while. - The Javelin System could be much better with just a few adjustements in terms of realism by improving the missile's behavior and by introducing the real sight (Optical system) /ACE coders have already carried that out. All these suggestions are rather doable, and it would be great to see them already introduced within the default game. Regards, TB -
Spent some memorable days within these grey boards... Let's see you all in the new forums soon

The 'MOD' you will be testing does not illustrate the real status of the Project which is way more stable and advanced. Without wishing to start another useless war, I would like to point out that as a P'85 member or former P'85 member, I'm completely against this sudden release, which goes against all of our predefined objectives. I won't be replying anymore in this topic, but just wanted to submit a little 'warning' regarding the 'content' in question. Regards, TB Edit: Typos

2 points to seriously improve: - Sounds Effects: ---> With no disrespect to BIS Sounds Designers, but please, there are already enough of inspiring community-made sounds for ArmA, the ones being introduced for the upcoming sequel sound almost 8 years old. I'm not the kind of people to start whining for anything but I felt kind of frustrated after having watched that video. Of course, there is nothing to mention about the models/landscape, except they are great, but some points need a little more attention, please. - Weapons Rate Of Fire: ---> In a battlefight, you will throw everything you have into the face of the enemy, the distance doesn't matter, as long as you "think" you have spotted something, those saying they can keep a sort of control over their ammo are just a bunch of liars trying to make themselves look kind of good. So please, try to make the ROF be a pinch more real, there are already enough of youtube videos illustrating the point. Regards, TB -
DCS : Black Shark seems rather interesting... And give a look at this video: A lot of buttons to recall... now that's what I call a "simulator" ;] Regards, TB

You can't deny that Falcon 4.0 graphics are kind of outdated, despite the amount of community made MODs/Scene textures upgrades... etc, but the 'Realism/Simulation' factor is way above all I have seen so far. F/A-18 Korea was a good simulator as well, but unfortunately it wasn't that known, therefore the lack of interest killed it on the long run. ------------ LockOn is nowadays 'Jet Fighters' simulation reference, but there is a hell of things missing in terms of realism (Limited MFDs screens, Too Friendly Soviet Radar systems...) Unfortunately, due to real life occupations, I somehow missed all of what has been carried out in terms of Jet Fighters Simulators, If someone knows a better reference than Lockon, then feel free to submit it, that would even be greatly appreciated. ------------ Regards, TB

If the upcoming sequel will meet a part of our main expectations then we all know what we will have to do to thank BIS for the huge efforts spent into bringing the engine to this status: - Convince people to buy the thingie and force them to get within these little boards... Regards, TB -
Basically, Tony's intentions are great, but the core structure is so condensed that it is just hard to 'select' your favorite features and isolate them from the rest because there are a hell of dependencies. Though, the condensation level is lower than ECS, but it's still quite rude to use a feature or another one without having to mess with the rest. I suggest you to make 'separate' Addons, 1 Addon per 'Main' Feature. This will make things much easier to handle for users and even for you when you'd want to carry out your patches, in oder words, make the whole thingie become user/developper-friendly. ;] Regards, TB

Hi, As we have previously done with the Polish and Czech communities by requesting their support to complete some specific tasks (Voices; Stringtable...), now we need the German support in order to help us to complete the last issue we have to figure out to release the MOD: The Voices Recording. Feel free to record many variants of the following sentences, by using your local expressions and way of speaking. These voices will be applied to NVA and Bundeswehr Units included within the MOD Viele Danke. Regards, TB

Hi, I'm quite surprised by the amount of voices we received, it's just impressive, I wasn't expecting such an involvement from the German community, there are so many that I'm just lost and have to even choose between the 'voice packs'... (quite unexpectable) Sorry if I haven't answered to the PMs/Mails individually, but I unfortunately have absolutely no time between RL and P'85 Development, Thank you for your understanding. And many thanks for the great efforts and dedication! cheers to Raptor and the rest for having even made a news post specifically for this purpose. Regards, TB -

Thanks for the translations, these help a lot. Now I hope things will be easier to record, we just need people attention. Regards, TB -
I'd probably stick with P'85, but let's see what the second opus will bring us, we will make the necessary adjustements according to that. ;] And eagerly looking forward to new 0.82 Regards, TB

Happy Birthday my friend, You did a quite long route, from VME to FFN, and it's great to still see you around.

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Public Release!
Thunderbird replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
To made an end to the current issue, I would like to underline Vilas behavior and attitude which do not reflect P'85 MOD's image and way of thinking, the man has his reasons which are quite understandable but this sudden over-dramatization goes against our principles based on a community-wide cooperation. I know this comes a little late, but I hope this won't break P'85 MOD image as we all contributed quite hard to build it and make it reach such an unexpected status. Thanks and now time comes to let ACE topic make its long route... Regards, TB -
Impressive. Never a soundpack reached such level of immersion. Regards, TB

Kind of you but seems that someone is already in charge of. ;] Regards, TB

Not only MP issues, we are figuring out bugs on all scales and we're currently enhancing/polishing as much as we can to provide the finest we can do at the release. If we would have hurried up then things would have been too disappointing. stay tuned, though. Regards, TB

Wishing You All A Happy New Year For 2009!
Thunderbird replied to Jennik's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
Happy new year all, wish you the best. -
Hi fellas, Sorry for the long time being off.. Glad to see some people still interested into the MOD and I promise I'd do a patch for it fixing all reported bugs, or at least, the "fixable" ones. I'm done with P'85 for ArmA as it reached a 90% showable status, therefore, I'm getting back to the first love...heh. I'll get a look at the previous pages to regroup as most as I can and see how we would figure out things. Best Regards, TB

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Weapons in Arma
Thunderbird replied to BadBenson's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Let the man alone, if he has to be hanged then let the 'supposed' people be in charge of, otherwise, pass your way as long as you aren't directly concerned by the issue in question. I see no point in insisting as this will not change anything in a constructive way. And after all, with no hypocrisy, he is not the first one to convert models from another game to make it fit with OFP/ArmA engine standards, many people have previously carried out that and I rarely noticed similar hostile reactions than the ones encountered within this thread. Regards, TB -
Heh, the spirit's alive and still around, I'd even allow myself to state that it grow up much since. Not only thanks to the gained experience, but thanks to the motivation and determination of a bunch of skilled fellas completely involved in giving life to a dead era. Regards, TB
