I think they are OK in some regards, but at times they feel to me very basic and little responsive. Very nice video, looks like a tech demo for a much more flashy game.

While not asking for the world, It would be cool if BI was more centered at adding military hardware/software details in expansion packs, instead of the usual story/campaign centered expansions(Resistance/red hammer/QG)

I always thought the Elite editor(never played it) was pretty much like the pc one, just slightly simplified and obviously no scripts. Wish I could pick it up, but its incompatible with my 360.

Another issue in Armed Assault is the crew AI. In OFP you could actually control these properly, but something was lost in conversion. To control the AI crewmen in Armed Assault is just big pain.

People thought that BI forgot them at 1.12 beta patch too, but the 1.14 patch arrived "out of nowhere", just slower than we expected. they are(hopefully) just taking their time with it.

A bit like the defend/attack missions in Armed Assault perhaps? Interesting, I never had the Elite edition but Ill research how the editor was back in that game.

I wonder if it is possible to see the last post in each forum-part from the http://forums.bistudio.com/index.php , like in the old forum? BI news, general, and offtopic is visible, but the arma 2, armed assault and ofp parts are just blue and does not show latest posts preview.

It should be general knowledge that the biggest gaming media should not be trusted too much in reviews and previews. What the media can offer to attract readers is (mainly) gaming previews. The access to these previews is controlled by the game publishers. So there is an situation that encourages to corruption. If you don't write nice about my game, I wont give you an exclusive preview of my next game. Advertisements is another weapon the publishers have against the media. Most web sites are mainly financed by advertisements contracts, often bought by gaming publishers whose games are being reviewed on the very same site. You do not bite the hand that feeds you..

No matter if theres 35km or 200 km view distance, I cant see how this affects gameplay. When I fly high in Arma, It doesn't really make much difference when I crank it from 10km to 15km. when you go past a certain distance it doesn't matter so much anymore, so I wouldn't be surprised if CM decided 35km view distance wasn't worth prioritizing. When will people stop comparing the two games though? Simply buy what you want The two games will probably share a lot of players anyway. -

This has been discussed many times before, the Vikhr's efficiency on air targets in Arma is not realistic.

It would be really cool to have a sound engine that could handle echo/reverberation according to the terrain. Just like in that Codemasters CGI movie. So if you fire a rifle in a valley/near mountains, the sound would leave your rifle, bounce back on the terrain, and reach you again. Then cycle back again, depending on terrain. Would raise immersion a lot I think.
