What are you on about? That makes no sense? You have completely misinterpreted my comment. I mean all these reality TV shows coming up with different ways to incrase ratings. ie. Celebrity Big Brothers racist scandal had huge ratings when that racist scandal was going on. It's the same for this TV show about the organ donor. It's never been done before, has had lots of media attention and will thus get lots of viewers.

It's just the culture we live in.

Woah! Good god, it's a TV company that came up with the show, not the whole of Western Europe! Don't judge entire groups by the actions of a few. Anyway it is a strange TV show. They want to highlight donor shortages, well, make a good documentary then. What is it they are going to do with the show exactly? But I wouldn't kill them like Vilas is saying, then you would be as bad as them.

Here is a version that was released around mid 2006. Linky

Well I'm into football and rugby, both great sports but I prefer playing and watching Football, It's a brilliant game, fast paced and involves quite a bit of skill. I've also been to some Scotland rugby matches at Murrayfield. Rugby players can take some punishment! Both are great sports in their own way. You should watch some games of football and see the skills of some of the player, genius some of them are. And both games can get the adrenaline pumping, especially if it's a heated game. What a feeling! Never seen any American football games, how different is it from Rugby? Only thing I know about it is that, apparently, Scotland has a good American football team.

Like I said guns are not a solution to crime. Do you think that person is mugging that woman for fun? Of course not. solve the causes of crime ie poverty, unemployment etc. Only then will the crime level drop. Also I didn't even know that a nervous person with a gun is stereotypical, I didn't even indicate such a thing. An over-confident person with a gun is also not good. Like Baddo said there's nothing wrong with applying common sense to the issue. For example one of my mates is a champion Clay Pigeon shooter, he's on the Scotland squad, so he owns a shotgun for that. That's fine. It's locked away in the local shooting club anyway. What's strange is that the Americans here can't seem to come to a compromise on the issue. After all compromise is at the roots of your country and is something you pride yourselves in. It's not an either/or argument. Â By all means, solve poverty, save the homeless, etc...I still have the right to carry a gun to protect myself. Â You are right..guns in the broad sence is not gonna stop crime...just like taking away guns is not gonna stop crime...what it does do is allow me to not be a victim while I'm working at saving the world from poverty. Â Me..that's why I carry...Me and my loved ones. Â I don't carry a gun to change the world. The shooting club thing is apples and oranges...the second amendment was not written with shooting clubs and competitions in mind...it wasn't written with hunting in mind...the second amendment was writtin with one thing in mind..the defense of self, family, and country. Â Nothing else. Â Hard to do that with your guns locked away in a shooting club. Well there's no need for that here but the loaction your in you apparently need it. Funny I thought you said you just liked to excercise that right. Anyway my mate uses the shotgun for sport not for protection of himself and his family and his country. That's what the Police and Army are for. But what's the point in this were never going to agree on anything. You have stated your points and I have stated mine. I'm not going to reply if you do as I blatantly can not be fecking arsed with this anymore.

Well that's quite an assumption to make about peple across the atlantic. No I don't hate America, I love going there and everyone has been nothing but nice to me, furthermore some of my relatives are American. I'm disgusted by that comment. Maybe you shouldn't look at things so simplisticly? For example saying that guns prevent crime. Wouldn't it be better if you tackled the causes of crime? ie poverty. This would be a long term solution. But no, that's not going to happen in a modern functionalist culture. Murder by your own government? Taking your freedom? Where do you live? North Korea? Yes I don't like the fact that people could carry guns, The Police/Army are trained to identify their targets before they even consider firing. Civvies aren't. A nervous person with a loaded firearm is bad news.

Heh, it's alright, quite a few people have asked that question. You can remove the feature if you want but I don't know how.

Wow, you were away for a long while! If your enjoying ECP's standard Dynamic Speaking system then I suggest you try out this one made by Cameron McDonald. - Link - The mirrors your using to get EECP are they OFP.info ones? If they are you have to replace gamzone to gamepark, in the link.
-
It's meant to be like that for realism's sake.
-
Sorry mate, you can't use ARMA addons in OFP, or OFP addons in ARMA.
-
That wasn't why we went in, the reason was WMD's. If it was those reasons you stated then why do we not take down all the other dictatotships? That's what would be the reaction by people and other governments/UN/EU etc.

Cheers Dslyecxi for this excellent guide for ArmA it is much appreciated. I'll get it printed off ASAP.

This is just lies. The level of crime has nothing to do with the availablity of guns. Crime is more influneced by factor such as social class, geography etc. @ Karantan  Yeah mate I see what you mean and completely agree with about the car/gun deaths.    As for the Police Officers I don't know about that and wouldn't generalise but my mates dad is a cop in a town nearby and he is pretty motivated with his job. although the area im in is pretty rural, the biggest issues here are drugs, car accidents and people fighting when they are out on the piss. The attitude of cops is probably different in the likes of Glasgow. However, I still think that firearms should not be so freely available to the public.

Looks good mate, good choice for using MAPFACT's stuff it will enhance the already great island.

No I'm not afraid that I might kill someone when driving. I know it might happen but I don't think or worry about it, I'm too busy concentrating on the road to worry about 'what if?' scenarios. Please re-read my post. I never mentioned anything about being against weapons. What I was saying is that you cannot compare the death rates of cars and guns. They are two completely different things. Firearms should stay in use with the necessary authorities eg Army and Police. I don't know why people would want Joe Public toting a revolver when most people fail to apreciate the fact that guns kill. For example I remember that a Scottish oil worker was over in Texas state (I think) about 10 years ago. He had just arrived and was driving his rental car looking for his hotel. The guy eventually got lost and pulled up to a house to ask for directions. As he proceded to the front door the owner of the house shot and killed him because he thought he was a burglar. That is why I don't think guns belong in the hands of the public.
-
Using that logic, then, what is wrong with enjoying a drive round the block? Nothing. Cars may be effective 'weapons' but their purpose is transportation. In the area I live there are a high number of young people who are killed while driving. 100% of people in my area that have been killed by or in a vehicle has been an accident. Cars are very rarely used for intentional killing, most are accidents. Guns, however, are designed for killing.

Hold on a second, I thought Germany 1985 was a collaboration of major mods such as COMBAT!, UKF, CSLA, BWod etc. This way each nation stationed in and around Germany at that time would be represented or has the situation changed? Beautiful Hind pack by the way!

17 going 18 in a couple months Playing OFP on and off since I was 13 and stuck with it when I discovered the mods/addons in mid 2005 and now playing ArmA as well.

That's exactly what happens to me.. Crap textures, good textures then suddenly soldiers will turn into a massive polygon as though someone has put a model into O2 and extruded absolutely every vertex about 100 feet outwards... Nobody knows how to fix this graphics issue? 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Nvidia 7600 GS 512MB 1GB RAM ArmA settings mostly low. Some normal.

Same thing happened when I was firing beside the bus in Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Info and Screenshots The Return of Classic Close Combat… Based on the Atomic Games award winning Close Combat series of games. Close Combat: Cross of Iron, brings back the award-winning classic in new epic battles of the Eastern Front of World War II. Immerse yourself in the ultimate Close Combat release: Close Combat: Cross of Iron for the PC. Take command of German or Soviet Battle Groups during WWII as you face the strength of the enemy war machine in a Grand Campaign giving you both the original and all new battles and operations that will test your tactical mettle. In Close Combat: Cross of Iron you start off as a junior officer leading your men into battle in real time. Earn promotions as you deal with an unforgiving enemy. Fight and survive though the frozen winter, hot dusty summer and muddy autumn. This is not just a re-release in a pretty wrapper! New features expand the ways you play Close Combat in entirely new directions. This release includes a multiplayer Campaign system for your battles. The Service consists of a Campaign Server to which you connect to play a Strategic Campaign. There is a Single Player Server provided with Cross of Iron which you can play on your own PC. However, there are also online Massive Multiplayer Campaigns available which run 24x7 to which you can connect anytime (requires and Internet Connection). Now you can fight an entire Campaign online, anytime, any side, as often as you want. The Campaign is fought on the Server which keeps a record of the results of the battles that are played, either single player, or H2H. Outstanding Mod Support. Close Combat Mods (modifications to the game by the Community) have been around for many years, due to the incredible enthusiasm and efforts of the Community. These Mods make changes to the game which require replacing files in the game Folders. Doing this manually can lead to problems if everything is not done just right, and reverting back also has to be done manually. CCModSwap makes this very easy and accurate, not only to install a custom modification, but also to uninstall it. No special knowledge of the game or the Windows file system is required. The modifications give you different theatres to fight in, with new Teams, Units, Weapons, and Battles to fight. Online Head to Head Matching. Close Combat: Cross of Iron includes an online Lobby system where you can meet up with other players, and even launch H2H (Head to Head) multiplayer games automatically once a match is set up. New Maps and Campaign. Close Combat: Cross of Iron comes with all the original Close Combat III Battles, Operations, and Campaigns. However, also included is an entire new Campaign called Fuger's Ostliche Wut, or Fuger's Eastern Fury, for you to fight as either German or Russian, based on actions between 1943 and 1944. Each Battle and Operation has been carefully made with in depth briefings related to actual events, and will give you hints about the battle and what you may expect. We have tried hard to make the balance of play suitable for a newcomer to the game, making it neither too hard or too easy. There are 26 new maps never released before and 6 modified maps from the original game, gathered together in 12 Operations spanning 12 months of the Russian Front Campaign, from dry summer landscapes through mud and snow. Revised Data. The Teams, Units, Weapons, and Data have been revised with new Graphics and more accurate performance. The AI has been modified to reduce many of the problems experienced with the original release of Close Combat III, and it is of course now Windows XP and DirectX friendly. Close Combat: Cross of Iron has been re-engineered to be compatible and stable with modern PC Systems with Pentium 4 and above, DirectX9+, and Accelerated Graphics Adapters. However, it should still run on systems it was originally designed for. Finally, improvements have been made to the AI to reduce some of the more inadequate performance issues, in particular with respect to vehicle pathing, the 'crawl of death', and Team and Unit morale and response in general. For example, it is much more risky to try and use Teams in isolation as the influence of Command Teams is more significant. You should find that you will need to play more cohesively than in the original release. Crush the enemy and gain the respect of your troops as you lead them to ultimate victory in Close Combat: Cross of Iron! Game Features Realistic soldier psychological profiles during combat Accurately depicting WWII squad-level warfare Direct and indirect fire with limited ammunition Ability to protect your men in building, pillboxes, and trenches. 100’s of specialized squads, weapons, soldier types, vehicles & Artillery Includes “Command Center†linking you to new maps, campaigns, mods, and player forums. Enhanced head-to-head and multiplayer combat modes. Enjoy the variety of modifications available from the Close Combat Community providing years of additional gaming pleasure. Runs well on modern DirectX systems Adjust timing and scroll speed and volume New Sounds Game Data Complexity: Moderate Field of Play: Tactical Historical Period: World War II. Unit Scale: Squad Game Play: Real Time Players: 1-2 AI: Yes, either side TCP/IP: Yes PBEM: No Game Editor: Yes  Requirements Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP Pentium III 133 or Athlon Equivalent required 32 MB RAM 1 GB of Free HDD space Sound card 1 MB Video RAM Good to see the classic series returning. I got these games when they were released in the late 90's and still play them to this day. Cross of Iron is the remake of Close Combat 3 the Russian Front which was probably the most popular and easiest to mod and as a result was hard to get. Now that they have included mod support your getting your money's worth. I admit the graphics are quite crap and there are some problems with the AI but the gameplay is worth it.
