Hotfix for Vista related to out of memory errors
stegman replied to suma's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Sound like good news..for you guys Is there an ATI equivalent? -
For OFP there was a Command Ref, this listed all the commands, weapons, vehicle classes, animations etc.etc. Is there such a thing for ArmA yet? I know about the Wiki but i have to be honest, it's fairly sketchy and not very explanatory. Is there a simple Com ref for ArmA?

This is exactly what i was looking for.

Arrgg!!! I can't put XP on!! It's all gone to pot! Windows wont allow an older version to be installed over a newer version, so I made a small partition, but my XP disk must be faulty. PC gives the Blue screen of Death!! Barg!

The UN Land Rover has been released already : Mirror: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1129 But I plan to update it and include it in the UN pack, maybe with a M113 But for the time being I’m quite busy already…playing Civilization IV lol. I keep jumping back and forth with ArmA and Hitman blood money (Now that would be a good one to do! Agent 47! And (probably) so do-able! I didn't know about the LandRover. Nice work. I'll have to get these guys downloaded.

Hows about a nice UN Land rover and Ural to go with them (To look like relief supplies etc?)

From what I’ve seen it does look a lot like ArmA, but the AI looks like it's the real selling point. Have you seen that vid of the squad moving up the street?  The AI soldiers ar hiding behind pillars, leaning around corners.  There’s even a bit where an AI guy goes looking down a dead end road.  This last bit may be the AI trying to stay in formation, but it really looks like he's 'investigating' or clearing the area. <s>I'll try and find that vid....</s> [EDIT] Found it here. Check out the top vid to see the AI as i said.

Of course, you are right on this. I expect BIS to produce a reasonable quality product (which ArmA is in my opinion) with useable features and reasonable usefulness in game. This also applies to BIS addons in patches. When BIS adds planes from WW1 (Camel), WW2 (DC3) and WW3 (Su33) instead of planes that would have fit the campaign scenario (F16/MiG29/C130), I don't see the point... Let the community pump out countless addons of varying quality and usefulness. The addonmakers can please everyone and are able to produce whatever they want. BIS is meant to set a standard and open possibilities by creating features and commands. Malick hear hear

Oh come on guys, ArmA isn't that disappointing. Â If it was then why hasn't every one gone back to OFP? Sure the campaign was a little poor, but the game is great. Â ARmA2 can only be better again, but for gods sake don't expect it to be perfect out of the box.

I agree. This would be a great feature. Why not be alowed to select your own spawn point from the the base, the North Farp and the SOuth Farp?
-
WHAT!? Thats even more dissapointing. Not even a new model, just an official reskin. On the plus side i think theres RAC uh60s too (I've seen them in the video)

THis sounds like a mission i wanted to make, but had no idea what so ever about how to do. ALso, i managed to drive the M113 ambulance once...is it locked by default?
-
I agree with that! Bloody AI. If only there was a way of the AI recognising if there was a gunner or not. (Prehaps you could run a script where by if there is a gunner in a car, then the target the AI shoots at is moved higher, then back to the low position to kill the car itself...) Yes it seems to. They can't cope with the bridge. Maybe by teleporting the units from one end of the town to the other would resolve this...? This would be good to see. If only to reassure the player that the script has executed.

What use could a Stretched Hummer be? Unless the King and/or Queen will be ridding around in it...
-
Aparently XAM is known to crah the servers, unless it's installed on the server itself. I think the server needs to run the mod before players can use it. Try that out. If you have, then i don't know sorry.

I bet the "snipe the officer at the hotel" mission really impacts on the next mission, as he is in charge of an armored squad, therefore no tanks on the following mission (why the rest of the squad wouldn't still carry on is beyon me though). I wonder what QB's missions will offer us.

I say leave them in. You might face a force like this in reality. Just becose it's hard, doesn't mean you should remove it. Thats my .50p

Help! Â For love of God HELP ME!! I used to have ArmA on my Vista system, until i needed to uninstall to do some maintenance. Now I can't put it back on. The install runs 50% through then an error pops up saying; <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"File Copy Error (CRC does not match)." C:\ Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\AddOns\roads.pbo.bi.bisign [EDIT] Â Fixed it. Â There was a whacking great dirty fingure print on the DVD! Rubbed it off and all is well again. Â Phew!! problem solved.

oh yeah, i know engineers can get points with the whole FARP thing, But i mean it might be god for other classes to gain points by taking the truck to the busted vehicle.... Or, engineers should have a RepairCargo, like a Mini-man-truck and can fix vehicles with out the trucks, but need them to build FARPS (kind of like a medic for vehicles), you know?
-
Good point. Maybe it would be nice to score points for repairing vehicles. That wasy more people might be inclined to drive across the map to fix that busted Hummer, or the downed Black Hawk...
-
and this: I found this article on my hard drive...dunno from where and when... Â You know, the longer this game takes to come out the better. It sounds really power hungry. Â I've only just got a pc that can only just run ArmA. [Edit] - I think might have mwentioned this allready! sorry for repeating my self.
-
what did you "tweek"? In fact everything, from BIOS to virtual memory handling. Just look for tweaking guides in the internet and experiment with it. Hmmm...I'll try it out. I still might put XP back on though.
-
Not really much on offer, is there. I'll still get it though. I can't get enough of ArmA. In factthis monday the 3rd September, I spent over 24 hours playing the Evolution mission! ...my neck still aches a bit, and my eyes are still stinging...

I had a CTD once, but it was my fault, kinda. I was runing XAM (the mission works fine with XAM, by the way). Next time I restarted, i used vanila ArmA. Resumed the game fine, but when tried to load it crashed out. Not really an issue, but remember to use the same mod you started with.
