I have to admit and i,m seeking help! I am a serious Arma 2 addict! Somebody help and stop me! Seriously I thought OFP 1 was cool but arma 2 sucked hopelessly! But BI made it all right with me with releaseing this one allright! Only problem is i cant stop playing and i just cant help myself. I mean there were a lot of good games i played like brother in arms hells highway , Call of duty 4 , Hitman blood money , etc etc but the problem is is exactly what they are! Games!! And they all expire when you played throught the storyline (With exeption of steel beasts pro) Where arma2 just offers endless gameplay thanks to the editor and some great user made missions!

I think knifes and bayonets are comparable to the situation of the air war in vietnam. The USAF was so confident in there new missles that close combat or dogfighting was regarded as phased out and something used in WWII. So the f-4 phantoms were not equiped with cannons or vulcan 20 mm guns. The result? the vietnamese airforces started to use cannons and close combat to down the americans a tactic the USAF had no response to since they had no cannons for short range engagements . So what they did is put cannon pod on the wings of the f-4 ,s and other aircraft to "reinvent" dogfighting. What i,m trying so say is weapons such as cannons for aircraft or knifes and bayonets for infantry could be considered ancient and crude and old school it doesnt mean they still have a role in modern combat nontheless

I though hell fish 1 was pretty good. But part 2 sucks! why? or i get killed before i hit the ground or when i do hit the ground my whole squad is down or wounded. 3rd time i tried it i was the only one not wounded and half of my squad was so i desided to heal all of them and when i healed the 3rd man i suddenly get the message mission completed.

how about for us to buy explosives? I mean gangster do blow shit up. Just make them really expensive

When i first saw this i was skepical but now that i played i,m freakin hooked! Its totally different than what arma2 was intended for and its like you are playing a completly new game and it shows how flexible this software is. I also think that the one who came up with this is a mastermind!!! anyway some things that i would like to see is * More atm machines! Seriously there just arent enough esspecially in far away places * Please find a way to save my progress ! I mean it takes about an hour to get reasonable money and a pistol i like gangster wars but it just takes to long to be somebody and that would be ok with me if you could only save your progress. I played for 4 hours and got pretty far but i dont allways have 4 hours and 1 hours just isent enough when you cant save * Why only 2 hoe,s? Let me at least have 4 * Maybe someone could make a mod for some cooler modern police cars and police choppers. * Give us some gangster to play with expensive suits or something. * Please fix the holster bug! I had to go back to the pistol dealer 7 times because i holstered and leter accedently this was just so frustrtating. * i would like to see the slx mod be used for this mission so that players have a knife. I mean its just stupid to be defensless when you not happen to have a gun. Other than that i must say that this is the most creative stuff i,ve seen so far

I just tried the mission where you had to clear the ship of enemy tango,s which is the worst mission in my point of view. I like the idea but 1 guy against the whole ship? Comeon cleary you watched under siege or rambo to much when you made that mission! Why would 1 seal take on all the terrorists while you could have given me at leasts a team of 4! I mean who is supposed to cover my back when i,m alone? One more thing i dont understand is why did you use the mercenairy addon (allthough a good addon) to simulate the seals when there allready is a seal team addon in download section? -

All the mods are installed and ready to go in les then 15 minutes! Give it a go and you wont be disapointed! plus you have all the free new neat stuff in the armory and editor! -

You dont need an addon for a navy bird. Use the stock navy blackhawk in the game. Hell it even says navy on its tail! Also as a tip for future missions. You dont always need direct action missions where there is allways major gun fights. For example make a mission where you need to lase a certain target for simulated naval artillery of a laser guided bomb. In these mission special forces try to avoid contact to accomplish there missions. Same goes for special recon. In real life special forces are not equiped for long gunfire ingagements when they are seriously outnumbered. 75 % Its all about avoiding contact and when detected they react extremely agressive to confuse and to get the hell out of dodge to fight another day. Dont get me wrong i,m glad someone finaly made a seal campaign in its pretty good. Like turin Turambar said make the objectives more realistic and interessting. My advice is Base them on real events the navy seals have been in. For example arresting war criminals , Intell gathering , Destroying scud launchers etc etc . Really there is plenty of stuff on the internet covering real ops special forces have been in Use it to your advantage! Special forces would! -

If not why not import them from the arma 2 mods. I allready have the desert m1a1 (which is so much better then the stock one and the ones with the nato camo as well) and i,ve allready seen some marines with desert uniforms in teh mod sections -

Hi first i would like to thank you for making a great seal team campaign and i respect the fact that there must have been quite some work done with it. But there are a few thinks you might want to consider for making it even better. * Why do i only have a 3 member team? in the first mission this is ok but in the mission when i have to assasinate all the crime bosses in al the towns this just aint enough! Sure seals operate in small teams but rarly in 3 member teams. Usually in 4 to 6 man teams. * Where is my medic? This is something that needs to be added there is always a mecial specialist in every spec ops team. * In fact i like to see to have every team member have a speciality , A demo expert , A medic , Machine gunner etc etc. Offcourse you could give a machine gun could be picked in the briefing menu. * More realitic missions. Recon , forward air contol etc etc * Why am i inserted my a marine corps huey? Give us a navy bird! After all we are part of the navy ! * Battle clearance! Had numerous times i got wacked because i could not drag my buddy,s into a save place to give first aid! And lets be honoust Its so seal team like! Leave no man behind! Just some ideas other than that i love the campaign! -
actually as a tradeoff you do have bino,s but it just doesnt show up in the gear-slot but the NVG,s do

Also a small bug with this mod is when AI gets first aid they sometimes loose there weapons and sometimes refuse to pick up other weapons as wel making them useless. Also sometimes after they have had first aid i have to micro manage them into telling thim to stand up or else they just stay put on the ground.

You guys really should give the SLX mod a go untill there are bayonets. The cool thing is that the AI will use knifes as well when you tell them to drop all there weapons exept there knifes and start killing your own guys. I tested it with 6 usmc soldiers and they managed to wound me because i was killing everybody with the knife. The AI also seems to be reluctant to use the knife when they they have other weapons but they will do so when they have nothing else! Just like it should be in real life! The downside is however that only the usmc faction is equeped with knifes so you probably wont even see a opfor use a knife since they dont have one

I found out something really cool with the knifes in SLX . When i stabbed some of my own men when testing the knife sometimes they will also pull there knife and stab you back!! I was like WTF? It happend very rarely because i have not found out a way to equip the my soldiers with knifes only. This means if the SLX implements knifes for opfor they would use it as well. The AI seems to use them only in a last resort when they have guns.. THIS MOD ROCKS! ---------- Post added at 10:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:56 PM ---------- Ok here is what i did . I had 5 officers (usmc) and had them drop all there weapons exept there knife and started killing friendlies with my knife. What dit the officers do? They stabbed me back and wounded me! I dit actually manage to kill all the officers but they managed to hurt me as well . Really cool.

Great campaign man! I,m also using the slx mod that makes it even more rocking!! But when i get to the mission where i get the high command and i clear the 2 towns and clear the partyhouse i cant pick up the evidence. Thus i,m unable to finish the mission! But aside form that i rocked..

Well great news for us Knife/bayonet lovers. I tried the New SLX mod for arma 2 and it has a knife and you can slash with the knife and actually kill enemy soldiers with it. I tried it and its great! Cant believe why the dev,s didnt do it in the first place while a mod can implement it with ease and it looks great as well! Here check it out. Please add some very basic hand to hand combat to this game. It doesnt have to be any chuck norris nonsense but some very basic moves would be cool. I mean there are almost no combat units today that are not trained it some kind of martial arts. esspecially the usmc force recon are experts in hand to hand combat and i have yet to see this is any game. If this is not doable then please at least add a knife to the weapons. I just still miss this in to many wargames.

Is it possible to mod hand to hand combat or a knife and then use it in the official campaing? Or is this only useble for editing your own missions

Ive seen many youtube clips showing snipers needing more than one shot to kill an enemy! So no real one shot one kill sniper tactics or am i missing something?

My source said the demo wont be released to the 26th (GN-GAMER allready has it) . Please tell me why since we are not given any info whatsoever? My source is an editor from GN-GAMER called Koen Winters. Why is this info out there and not here? Releasing the Demo along side the patch we understand. But holding back the demo for till the 26th are you? Comeone my source says the demo is ready to go. You gave them demo to release it alongside there gaming magazine? Oh well close the thread to prevent the leak to come out right?

Let me first start of with the fact i preorded from play.com. They had a low price but only later i found out that the game will probably arrive friday or in the worst case scenario monday. That brings me to the fact the i would really could use the demo to find out how it works on my system and give me a teazer on how it all would be (i think the guys awaiting the the game for the 26th would also like to find out) I probably get the thread closed for this or even lose my membership for posting anything about the demo. I mean comeon if i make a post about it i get an infraction but first they redirect me to a thread where i should post all my thing regarding the demo but like many threads it always closed. That leaves me with no option then to put my ass on the line. They promised the demo on the 19th . They i got a source saying ot would be released the next monday or tuesday. Guess what still no demo today. At least they could give us a heads up on whats going on when they couldt make the official deadline. But no they close the threads preventing us to talk about it. What up with that? The way people are being closed with threads feels like preventing freedom of speech! Many people might disagree with all this but i,m sure many people agree with me as well. Dont get me wrong BIS has a great game but they shouls really give us some info when deadlines are not met right? I mean if they want to hold out to the 26th with releasing the demo then why dont they just tell us? They said after releasing the patch the demo would be released asap. If there is a delay again why dont they just post it on the forum?

I really would want to see the demo today. I ordered at play.com but it takes 7 to 10 days to be delivered in the netherlands and it was posted the 18 th! Thats sucks big time because that would mean i still would recieve the game on the 26th! Now i would expect the demo to be released today but still nothing here! I mean comeon they released the patch did they not? Then why arent they releasing the demo today!
