  1. No it's not an ACE issue, I'm not using ACE just UNSUNG and the relevant CBA. Sometimes the medic just won't heal you no matter what you do. It's not always flawed. Most of the time the medic heals other team members when ordered to, just fine . . . other times he just don't heal you until you bleed out. I experienced some weird shit with medics notwthstanding all modules were set correctly. For eg. Unable to drag or carry . . .units teleporting back to their original position from where you dragged him off. Units crawling during the heeling process and me being dragged together with the unit I'm trying to heal. If a unit gets healed by a non medic it happens sometimes that the unit won't be healed at 100 % and maybe stays down due to leg injurie. Unfortunately the teamleader nor the medic are recogniziong him as still injured. It's a pain because it's screws the whole mission especially if you have to travel some long distances. The unit which is not healed and can't stand will crawl until he gets killed. The teamleader will only move to the next waypoint when all units have reached the respective positions of the former one. Now immagine you have 1 member of your team which has to crawl all the way. Luckily a fellow community member helped me with that issue. He wrote a small script which overcomes this issue. It won't get fixed anyway because it's hard to reproduce. I've experienced a 60% it works well and a 40% not. I couldn't really figure out how to fix this or reproduce it. Just don't hold your breath over a fix from BI . . . it won't come. They are concentrating on ArmA 3 right now. cheers
  2. Nothing you can do about it, even in vanilla the medic is borked. I don't know how the medic system in ACE works but I do not believe it's an ACE problem since I have even problems in Vanilla. If the Medic is in combat mode than it will take ages. Even if you setBehaviour him to Aware he will switch back to combat in case you are in a firefight. Try to deal with it somehow . . . there ain't no fix for it and it won't get fixed in the future. ArmA 2 is history. Out! cheers

    Arma 2 Must have Mods

Check out the UNSUNG if you are into the Vietnam era . It's friggin awesome. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?181703-The-Unsung-Vietnam-War-Mod-v2-6-Released-!!! I can only highly recommend it. Cheers
  4. @DavidS1 you should be able, to disable the clock indicator in your difficulties settings. On expert settings the clock indicator is set to disabled by default, you can disable the clock indicator also on the other difficult settings together with a whole bunch of other helpers and parameters. Go to Options - Game options - Difficulty- Choose your difficulty level by clicking on it. Once opened search for the clock indicator and disable it . . . then you're good to go. I'm playing always on Veteran but with my own settings. I'm using unlimited save game when playing missions or campaigns just to get a fluid playthrough. Nothing is more frustrating to restart the missions from the one and only save game on expert level over and over again. LOL :) In case if you are referring to the Dong Xuan campaign I can assure you that Kommiekat and me have put the same effort into all cutscenes the same way as per the missions. When working on the campaign I was actually a bit worried if it would be up tp the task. Knowing the mission editing skills of eggebeast and some other members of the UNSUNG team I was actually pretty much worried for being honest. In any case i'm glad you like it. The UNSUNG team has made an amzaing job . . . their talent is beyond any doubt. Best Vietnam Mod ever created for a videogame. :notworthy:

    Gulf Of Aqaba Map

Yeah definitely. I'm looking forward to the new release. In any case no Steam for me. Any company with similar license agreements can screw themselves. I ain't gonna do business with them. Especially since they are cornering the market. One more reason I don't like steam. In any case I'm glad that there are people still doing things for Arma 2. see you around and I love your terrain :inlove:

    Gulf Of Aqaba Map

Hi S@ndbob notwithstanding the savegame issue the map is really breathtaking. I saw that Aplion provided some stuff. Sad that he took a break hopefully he'll be back. Moreover I'm grateful that modders like yourself are still working on stuff for ArmA 2. I did not buy ArmA 3 and I'll stick with 2 no problems with that. Since I'm a "non steam user" i'm still on patch 1.62 and it's most unlikely that i'll be able to play MP. Most servers are already on 1.63. Since this patch is only for steam users are mostly all on 1.63 because the shutdown of gamespy, me as a non steam user I'm using still 1.62 which means 0 servers. Would have liked to do some UNSUNG stuff as well but I have the same problem they are all on 1.63. So I stick to the editor. When 0.3 will be released I may have some missions ready. LOL In any case thanks for this jewel it is really amazing and I'm looking forward to version 0.3. Cheers :D

    Gulf Of Aqaba Map

Hi guys @Jakerod Thanks for enlighten us on this little mystery. I was going crazy yesterday trying to figure out how come I ended up on Desert Island every time I loaded a save game. I experienced this for the first time after 13 years of playing BI games. I thought first it was something only on my side. In any case thanks for the advice now I know it's not a problem that I'm facing. @ S@andBob I love this terrain and I hope you can get this sorted out, because otherwise it's rather frustrating to use this map for making missions especially in case you can't save the mission progress. In any case I'm enjoying your terrain very much you did an outstanding job thank you for that. Keep up the good work cheers :)

    Gulf Of Aqaba Map

i got on your website this is simply amazing. I was just fooling around in the editor and set up a couple of skirmishes I love it. I ran into one trouble though. Something really weird happened. Everytime I load a savegame in the editor I respawn mid air or sometimes on the ground on Desert Island. Which is really weird. Now I excluded all addons i used and loaded only the map. I don't know if anyone else did experience such kind of thing. I'm unable to tell if this is on my side only. All save games on other maps work well as far as I understood. Really unexplainable I'm getting this only with your terrain. :banghead:

    Gulf Of Aqaba Map

I took yesterday for the first time an extensive look at this terrain and it is simply beautiful and stunning. An amazing job you did here. It has such a different feel to all the other terrains and the atmosphere is so great. This is definitely a jewel I can only recommend for use to every mision maker. Thanks for your hard work and sharing. cheers:)
  10. Hi everyone I’m in need of an advice. I had to format my harddisk where I had installed my ArmA games. I’m running a dual boot system win 7 on SSD and Win XP on my normal HD. Now I started reinstalling ArmA first on my SSD with Win 7 not one single error. But when I tried to reinstall on my normal HD I had serious issues with the installation of Arrowhead. As soon as the game has been installed it proceeds with the uograde to version 1.55 and it gives me a huge amount of errors during the upgrade. I tried evrything: Removed Arrowhead 2 times because it was impossible to proceed with the installation. So in the end I stopped the installation before the upgrade to patch 1,55 from my installation disk and used one of the official patches to get the upgrade done but to no avail. Here is happening the same thing as soon as the upgrade starts I’m getting huge amounts of errors. What leaves me really clueless is the fact that I did the whole installation a couple of hours before without any problems on my SSD with Win 7. Normal HD throws up errors after errors and I’m unable to complete the installation. :banghead: Is there anybody out there who can give me some advice in regards? Thanks in advance Edit: problem solved. My hard drive was partially damaged and consequently I ran into troubles with a faulty installation.
  11. Hello everybody here is a small 4 mission mini campaign for the Unsung MOD [sP Camp] Operation Wayne Grey [RWO] version 1.3 Requirements: ArmA CO: 1.62 or higher - Unsung Mod 2.6 - CBA The campaign has only been tested on last non steam patch 1.62 Info: -Terrains: Plei Trap Valley Tags: ArmA II cO - Sp campaign - unsung - Vietnam - Operation wayne Grey - RWO Mini campaign 4 missions featuring: voice acting intro-outro First aid modules UPS script 2 different characters - 1st mission Aaron Hill - 2nd, 3rd and 4th mission Tom Jenkins The Story is based on real events happened in the Plei Trap Valley in March 1969 I did not use real names of soldiers who fought and died during "Operation wayne Grey" out of respect. Installation: copy the operation Wayne grey.pbo in your Campaigns folder which should be located in your main ArmA folder. Im case you don't have one, you have to create this folder for yourself by naming it Campaigns. Changelog vers. 1.3 - converted all missions to Unsung version 2.6 - Added voice acting - Reduced walking distance in mission 2 Rescue Alpha - Ironed out some general bugs - Removed enemy respawn from the last mission Ammo low, thus reduced difficulty. - Fixed all errors I could find in the briefings - Adjusted some timings in game logics. Known bugs: - text messages of audiofiles are not displayed in intro of mission 4. Everytime I preview it in the editor they are displayed once I pack it into pbo format the intro is lacking the display of the subtitles. Really weird was unable to fix that. I hope it is only on my side. - Sometimes the medic bug is still appearing in mission 1. I can't fix it. Changelog vers. 1.2 - text messages of audiofiles are not displayed in mission. FIXED - Reduced units in some missions to increase performance Changelog vers. 1.1 General Fixes: - Added voice acting - Fixed seIdentity in all missions - thanks tom3kb & h34dup - Fixed some ranks Fixes Mission related: Mission 1: Valley of tears - Unable to fix medic bug in a reliable manner - changed some conditions of ending triggers - added some more links to markers in the briefing - restructured some textwall in the briefing for better readability - Rewrote some ingame radio messages Mission 2: Rescue Alpha - Shortened a bit the long walk it's still long though. - enlarged completion radius of players group waypoints. I noticed during a testrun that the groupleader sometimes would miss the waypoints and was swaying of course significantly. I hope that will solve this issue. - fixed markers which shouldn't have been visible in the first place. Mission 3: Hill 947 - changed waypoints of the attacking units in order to simultate better the breach into the Us defensive perimeter Mission 4: - Added move trigger for Delta 4 PLT. Now Delta will move down Hill only if enemy numbers have been reduced significantly - Changed trigger ending condition - Added ammo box markers - Ammo boxes can be found now by any group member - Moved ammo boxes closer to each other Brief mission description - valley of tears You are Aaron Hill a combat medic with Alpha Company, 3rd PLT, 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry 4th Infantry Division. Your company is to air assault into the Plei Trap Valley. - Rescue Alpha You are Tom Jenkins a machine gunner with Delta Company, 4th PLT, 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division. Delta companies mission changes. You are tasked to move to the Alpha ambush site and look for survivors. - Hill 947 Delta company has gained high ground and set up defensive positions on Hill 947. The 66th NVA regiment has encircled their position. - Ammo low Delta company is running low on ammunition and supplies. The badly needed ammo supply goes wrong. The parachuted ammo boxes land in enemy territory down the hill. Your task is to find the ammo cases and retrieve them. Comment: The player is rarely in command during the missions. If you are becoming CO then all higher ranks have been killed or are wounded. This small campaign is more for players who don't like being in command. Forces are about company size. Low end computer will handle this campaign, but AI might be at times unresponsive. When play testing on my I7, the missions run very well. So in case you have a low end computer you might run into these kind of "flaws". Processing power is very important in large scale missions. Given the sheer amount of units in this missions it is not recommended to approach your objectives in a "John Rambo" playstyle. Having used the first aid modules a Rambo playstyle will penalize you. As a matter of fact you will be more rolling around on the ground, rather than playing the missions. So be cautious all the time. - Mission 1 "Valley of tears": You are Aaron Hill a combat medic. Try to keep your buddies alive. Choose carefully when to heal somebody of your platoon. Everytime you are trying to heal a wounded you will most likely entering the enemies field of fire. - Mission 2 "Rescue Alpha": This mission is a night mission. Luckily it is Full moon -- visibility is reduced but you will be able to see something in any case. I used UPS in this mission. You are a machine gunner in Delta 4th platoon named Tom Jenkins. You will have a long walk ahead of you and you can't rush because you are forced to a night march. UPS gives the mission some randomness. If you are lucky there will be only a few fire fights if you don't, well . . . - mission 3 "Hill 947": The players input during the attack is crucial. Changing positions is constantly required. The enemy has surrounded the hill and you have no other choice than to fight. Do not stay too long in the same position . . . you gonna regret it. Make good use of the foxholes. - Mission 4 "Ammo low": Delta company is running low on ammo and the supply drop overshot. Guess who is tasked to retrieve the ammo boxes? Don't rush this mission. You might be forced to change multiple times weapon and scrounge whatever you can get your hands on. Help keeping your buddies alive whenever you can, but don't forget that your firepower is crucial for survival. a special thanks goes to all the voice actors. Voice actors in alphabetical order: - AZCoder - kommiekat - Laqueesha - nettrucker Thanks for testing and giving valuable feedback tom3kb - Hacker Slasher - tortuosit - crazyquick - headup - Kommiekat - CYHFC - Mathias_Eichinger - express49 - griton - GodsFist Credits: - Unsung team for their wonderful MOD - CBA team - AZCoder for helping me out with the ammo drop - Clayman for his Anim viewer - Kronsky UPS script - Chris Henderson for his ArmA edit tool - Charon production Troopmon3 ( for debugging purposes -- not required as addon) Download Armaholic : http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20837 Thanks.
  12. Hi Viikkasota you should enjoy the results of the UNSUNG instead of letting such a small detail turn you off from this outstanding MOD. Seriously!!!! The UNSUNG TEAM has worked very hard to make the MOD . . . it took them years to get it to the point where it is right now. I consider it definitely a full conversion MOD. Most probably my favorite one. Making a MOD of this quality takes years of constant dedication . . . hard work . . . huge workload and lot's of burnouts I guess. Look at the content man and you get it all for free . . . to have fun with it. You should give the team a little slack for what they created in their spare time don't you think? I can only congratulate all of them for what they have achieved and for their constant dedication to get it done and bring it to a final release. Now I understand your point of view but believe me it doesn't take away for me the enjoyment. This MOD provides some many toys to play with that I can ignore without problem such kind of little "flaw" as to when the 30 round mags were introduced in the war. Hell I ignored BIS game flaws for 13 years so the 30 mag issue isn't a big deal to me I would say it's nothing in comparison to ArmA's flaws. I tell you every time I play the UNSUNG I have a blast . . . it's so amazing . . . creeping through the jungle have a firefight . . . where you are really in difficulties spotting the enemy and you mostly see no shit. Well since you are into mission making you should focus your enthusiasm in creating some authentic UNSUNG missions. By doing that you will pay homage to the team and contributing something to this amazing mod for the whole community to enjoy. If you can ignore the Vanilla game flaws of ArmA than it shouldn't be hard to ignore the 30 mag issue. BTW since you have already played the 2.5 version I added only the voice acting and did some minor changes and that's it . . . nothing really new apart from the voice acting. Stay tuned and try to see things more from a positive point of view. @ eggbeast, Von Knuddenberg, Bigstone, hcpookie Hi guys been lurking on skype more or less frequently and I know there are still some surprises ahead of us. I love :inlove: what you guys have achieved so far. I just feel the urge to express my immense gratitude for your hard work. It's about nearly a year that I'm mostly loading the UNSUNG 90% of all the times I fire up Arma. LOL The only gripe I have with Wayne Grey is the way I implemented the radio files and some of the speech files. I opted for a non realistic approach otherwise I would have been forced to use always the RTO as the players role. As long as you stay with the platoon it makes sense hearing some of the messages. I was really unsure on how to approach that issue in UNSUNG but I had to make a decision and I did. Seems to be seen it it was the right one. I still haven't discovered everything or tried out everything just so many toys to play that I get always distracted. :bounce3: Thanks for dropping by cheers:D
  13. C'mon lighten up man. It's a game for "Pete's sake". I understand your desire for realism but you are asking me to do once again a half conversion of the campaign which is a heavy workload. Second . . . Big, of Armaholic is going to send me to hell in case he's going to read the change log. I'm really sorry to hear that . . . and the only advice I can give you is, to not play it then, if such a particular detail is hindering your enjoyment. I understand all the desire for realism of a lot of my fellow community members but hey it's a game and I tried my best to represent 1 small episode of the Vietnam war. Bear in mind that the game has limitations itself and you have always to adapt somehow. Really . . . if you can't enjoy it try to find some other missions which will use the right units with the right ammo load in the right historical contest. No pun intended. It honestly didn't pass my mind to pay attention to this particular detail when creating the campaign. I'm not sure if other mission makers pay attention to such detail either. One thing I've learned in all these years "You can never get it right for everybody". With that being said I doubt I gonna do an overhaul as long as nobody reports some game breaking bugs. p.s Ever thought to use the editor and make some missions the way you think they ought to be? :D
  14. Hi Günter here's the link to the resistance campaign http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19973 cheers mate

would you still buy any BI product ?

They could care less about us non steam users. That's why I stopped supporting them.

would you still buy any BI product ?

Who the fuck are you to tell us to leave? In any case don't worry we will eventually leave as soon as some of us have settled some still unfinished business. Wish you a nice day fanboy.
  24. nettrucker

would you still buy any BI product ?

No . . . I stopped buying BIS products. I'm off the drug. I didn't purchase ArmA 3 nor any other BIS game since ArmA 3 has gone Alpha.
  25. Hey showmaker I believe the AI will have some problems with these steep hills. LOL Kidding apart . . . wow more Islands . . . one of my favorite toys. Thank you and the UNSUNG team. cheers
