  3. Hi edgardeth really nice job you did. Had an extensive look yesterday at your template and it's really well done. One question, some of the objects are placed as "cargo" is there any specific reason for that? Just curious. Yeah and the helipad should be placed outside the base for the reason Spooky Lynx mentioned. Thanks for sharing this template.:D kind regards

    Quality vs Quantity

    Couldn't agree more with you. I don't have any issues playing ArmA II vanilla. I start using mods when all flaws are ironed out, but in general I'm sticking to vanilla for the time being. BOT ... I prefer also quality over quantity, but I love having also a large choice at disposal. kind regards

    Hi snafu thanks for the link mate. I downloaded it immediately. What a great story. yeah the original PG was still DOS made and therefore it's not running really perfectly on modern PC's. I loved playing through all the campaigns and I must admit I'm still enjoying playing it from time to time. Thank you so much for posting this link. you made my day.:D kind regards

    Panzer General (1994) was one of my favourite strategy games. I'm still playing it today from time to time in case I need a break from BIS games. It' s just like "Risiko" for computer but a bit more complex and you can play all WWII theatres. It's not a 3D shooter, but I find it still amazing.:D kind regards

    Best feature for me . . . is the editor. I'm constantly fiddling some stuff inside the editor. The modules are definitely a great plus, since the editor remained unchanged from OFP days so it's a welcomed new feature for me as well.:D regards

    I understand this perfectly. I wouldn't use my real credit card for online payments either. I'm using a pre-payed card with paypal. That means I'm loading the card only with the money I need to do a transaction and that's all. Never had any problems with that. kind regards

    Zeus AI Combat Skills

    Hi Protegimus I'm not using ACE 2 for the time being and I'm using only a few 3rd party addons. CBA, Islands, VFA. I decided to check out Zeus just a couple of days ago. Very good job you did. I will test it once again because it happened the first time after I used your mod so I guess it is related to that, not sure though since noone else seems to have this problem. I gonna come back with some feedback. regards edit 24/05/10: Hi Protegimus I did some extensive testing during the whole weekend. There’s nothing wrong with your mod (scripts). My bad and my sincere apologize. I really don’t know what happened. On Saturday I loaded one of my missions and I was play testing the same. It happened 5 times that I was unable to take out injured units out of vehicles when playing with Zeus mod. So I tried a couple of times running vanilla and everything was OK. But everytime I played with Zeus I couldn’t get them out. Yesterday I replayed the same mission a dozen times and everything was fine no problems at all. This is really weird.:confused: Once again my apologize your mod works well. Keep up the good work:D Kind regards

    Hello Michael I guess that VAC would be a better choice. I know, it's not a freeware but as far as I understood it is a better programm.     Hi Protegimus Using the first Aid modules. I'm not anymore able to take out injured units from vehicles. Is that something that you could fix?. This happens only when using Zeus, when running vanilla I got no problems with that. Great mod, but the fact that I can't take out injured units from vehicles is a real pitty. kind regards

    You made my day. Wow I LOL'ed so hard . . . I nearly chocked.:D In any case I think we are exaggerating a bit here. I don't think that people will be turned of buying the game, just because the weapon on the cover is on safe position and honestly said I doubt that somebody will recognize it at a first glance unless somebody points you in that direction. It is barely noticeable. Just my 2 cents. kind regards

    Hi Sumrak I just wanted to ask you a question. I'm working on my campaign which takes place on Namalsk, still WIP. I'm fine tuning the missions right now. The custom building at the Old Hospital next to the helipad. Has this building working unit positions in order to place the units in the different rooms?:confused: I couldn't get it to work so far with the set unit position commands. So for the time being I'm using a workaround with way points, but there's no way to position them precisely in the different rooms in that manner. It's a real pitty. Will Namalsk be updated in the future or is version 1.01 the final one?:rolleyes: Awesome Island.:D Kind regards

    Yes, in my opinion it is. The only thing which was better in OFP were the single player campaigns. I dislike that they implemented the warfare missions in the Arma II campaign, but that's just my opinion and my personal taste. kind regards

    Your first ArmA II experience?

    I also started my first experience back in OFP days and they were very much the same as Walker described, when reading his reply, it made me laugh a bit :D because I had the same experience maybe in different circumstances because I never played the demo. In any case my first ArmA II experience was that I couldn't even get it to run. I upgraded everything but my video card which was absolutely crap. So I started to play the first time after 1 month that ArmA II had been released. In the meantime I was reading throughout the forums and everyone was complaining about the buggy campaign with a lot of flaws. since my favourite part of the game was always the editor I didn't even bother to play the campaign and went straight into the editor experimenting some stuff. I played throughout the campaign after patch 1.04 has been released. I liked the campaign apart the warfare missions, which in my opinion, shouldn't have been implemented in the campaign, but this is just a personal opinion of mine. One of the most stunning moments were in the editor when I was working on a mission. The game was patched at that time 1.02 where the AI was really unforgiving. I experienced for the first time enemy AI putting up heavy surpression fire when they detected my position. I was pinned down meanwhile some AI were flanking my position and the rest kept my position under continious fire. As soon as I tried to move I got my butt handed over. That was freaking hilarious. It was hard to spot the enemy due to all the clutter and it is still hard today. In any case I love this game even there are flaws, but I can live with that given the magnitude of it. regards:D
  25. With a guard waypoint they will engage the enemy and don't stay in the building which you want them to defend. I normally use following code snippet in the units init field to make them stay in a building this setPos ((nearestBuilding this) buildingPos 1); doStop this and I use that command only for single units placed, because in case they are grouped, the AI team leader will give the command to engage enemy units as soon as he detects them. Enterable buildings have various building positions where the units will stay once you assigned a building position in the units init field. Hope that helps a bit. regards
