British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update
nettrucker replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Than you never visited the forum of the game which can't be mentioned here. Second the forum will get heavily cluttered with similar threads which would be even worse. People are rarely reading forum rules that's why we have double and tripple threads which could have been easily avoided. The Mods are doing a good job here, you gonna get bashed only if you're not following the rules.:D kind regards -
Great thread Walker. thanks for putting at rest all the doubts players might have, thinking the AI is cheating when they got their butt handed over and die often. kind regards

British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update
nettrucker replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Nobody's forcing you to buy anything. Read the thread were Maruk explained that there won't be any issues, if people don't purchase the DLC. What a bunch of ungrateful whiners are posting in this thread . . . it's unbelievable. No other developer has kept up with their community the same as BIS. And once again BIS is not forcing you to buy anything kind regards -
Hi Chris welcome to the forum. i' suggest that you get youself ArmA combined operations. Which includes ArmA II and the expansion Operation Arrowhead. Owning only the expansion OA will prevent you to use user made content which was made with ArmA II content. kind regards

Spritz Island 1.1 released
nettrucker replied to shezan74's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yeah great. I read your world tool thread in the island editing section. A fine achievement. I believe your tool will help all our fantastic Island makers to save a lot of time and sweat. I tried once myself to make an Island but that was back in the OFP days. I used wrp tool and it was a big pain. You had to place every single object manually, you couldnt even copy and paste object groups. After one year I lost my work due to my hardrive which was blown to oblivion by an electrical overload. Had made a copy on a CD at that time, only to find out that the data on the CD was corrupt:mad: . . . so I left it. looking forward to see some more Islands of yours in the future. My best wishes.:D kind regards -
ARMA 2 and OA Soundtracks in FLAC or WAV?
nettrucker replied to Janat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yes of course! A non compressed soundfile does sound better, but it needs to be compressed otherwise the game would be 100 GB instead of 8-10 GB. A song lasting average 3 min is about 45 MB if you convert it to mp3 only around 4.5 MB I believe in ogg format it's even less. Think about all the speech and radio files, music apart, it would be impossible to release a game with non compressed sound files. Get yourself a programm that is capable to convert wav files to ogg format. It should be possible to reconvert them into wav. kind regards -
Spritz Island 1.1 released
nettrucker replied to shezan74's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
LOL!!! Be aware of ZZ Germans who want to offer you a "spritz".:D Has this Island been made with your world tool? In any case, great job you did. Islands are my favourite toys, so thanks for that. I wish we would have some more winter islands at disposal. Thanks for sharing and all the work and effort you put into it. kind regards -
ARMA 2 and OA Soundtracks in FLAC or WAV?
nettrucker replied to Janat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thanks for the heads up MadDogX. It's quite embarassing being a musician and not to know what FLAC is.:o In any case I learned something new. kind regards -
ARMA 2 and OA Soundtracks in FLAC or WAV?
nettrucker replied to Janat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If it's in ogg format it should be possible to reverse it into the original sound source. Not sure what FLAC format is. kind regards -
Never had a problem in ArmA II with bunkers. When I manage to sneak up behind the gunner in the bunker he is dead meat. A frontal approach is suicide you gotta get behind him. In any case it has never happened to me when sneaking up from behind that I was unable to kill him. Kind regards

Community-Poll: Which ArmA2 Title do you own?
nettrucker replied to mr.g-c's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It does matter. People who own only ArmA II will not be able to play missions with AO content used by the mission designer. But I believe that most long term community members own combined operations. kind regards -
Wow this is awesome. Kind regards

What do you prefer playing MP or SP?
nettrucker replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
Yeah sorry I didn't recall anymore that on the BIS ufficial site was this poll. My bad . . . I even voted. I don't recall if that poll had multiple choices of vote, as far as I remember it had not. Hope that it's not a problem that I opened this one. If it is than please close it. Thanks for pointing it out and moreover my gratitude for ten years of constant fun. You guys are the very best and BIS games are the only games I played for ten years in a raw without ever getting tired.:D Kind regards -
If he never played BIS games he actually won't have a clue what ArmA does or not. This is something he will figure out as soon as he gets it. In any case, or you gonna love it the same as we do or you gonna be disappointed. It depends on what you are seeking. Definitely this game is very different to all other wargames I have played in my life . . . and I played a lot. Once you become an "Armaholic" you will find out that other games won't give you the same satisfaction. Just take your time and learn how to play it. It'll take some time to get used to it and discover all the things you can actually do. don't get frustrated if you get your butt handed over very often. It happened to all of us. But once you get the hang on it . . . it's a real blast In any case if money isn't a problem get it. In case you don't like it you can sell it afterwards to reduce your monetary losses.:D kind regards

when is the website going to be up and running again?
nettrucker replied to jacobj9's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hi and welcome Didn't even know it was down. I dunno if the demo is already available, Placebo told us, it would be out very soon but no release date communicated. kind regards p.s. I had acessed the ufficial ArmA II site but haven't seen anything related to the OA demo. -
That's hard to say. Judging form the release of Armed Assault and ArmA II, the quality control was pretty poor, which earned them the image of a buggy game developer. But BIS takes care of their creations. They patch their games constantly and are in contact with their community to improve their games, which is not common by developers and therefore they got my complete respect. I wish they would give some more importance to the single player campaigns and get a campaign done which would keep up with the old CWC and Resistance campaigns of OFP. kind regards p.s. have look at this it will give you some more info about BIS http://pro.bistudio.com/

I don't want to argue about such a trivial thing. It's true that OA is a further developement based on ARMA II, with lot's of new stuff and improvements. Don't get me wrong I love this series, rarely playing anything else. And in case you guys didn't notice also OA has bugs and some people are facing poor perfomance. You guys read sometimes the trouble shooting threads? WTF. Take a look at the CIT and you'll see even OA is not perfect yet. BIS will improve the game with further patches as they always do, but there are still issues that BIS couldn't fix since CWC. AI driving skills for e.g.. I could go on and list some other serious issues, which are still there, but I won't, because I'm confident that BIS will try to fix these things. It is going to be hard for BIS to get rid of the image to release buggy games. And these bugs are also related to their ambitious undertaking of developing their games and most probably they will never be perfect, but I can live with that, the same as all the other community members. Just my 2 cents. kind regards

Hi and welcome! Try the ArmA II demo. It's basically the same just with a different scenario and settings. So you can make up your mind if BIS games are something you might like. kind reagrds

Can we make the new recoil model optional?
nettrucker replied to arthur666's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I've tried yesterday the beta patch for the first time which is already outdated today. It takes just a couple of hours to adapt and adjust. I agree with you that MP has an issue with different options, but it's not only recoil related these issues, there are well known other reasons while MP is messy. @ GiorgyGR has it ever come to your mind that not all people are using mods and that there still players who play vanilla? What is most important to all of us, I believe, is the fun we have playing this game "Ultimate Military Simulator" or not. A lot of people don't like ArmA because it is challenging. Back on topic. Escluding any option is not a right decision in my opinion. there are a lot of people who are not playing MP due to whatever reason. Everone is entitled to have his own opinion concerning the recoil of weapons, for some people it's too much for others it'll be fine. you can never do it right to anybody. kind regards -

How many of you old OFP Veterans are still playing BIS games?
nettrucker replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I didn't know that either and it's not T.S.C. Plage's fault because I asked him out of curiosity. Back then I purchased "between the lines" and I thought they would have an agreement with BIS. Well in that case it has been unauthorized use of Intellectual property. I'm sorry for having digged this up didn't meant to stir up anything, and in case you want to delete the last post entries please go ahead Placebo. kind regards -

nettrucker replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
Yeah sorry got the title mixed up because yesterday I saw the film "behind enemy lines" :D second last time I played "between the lines" was at least 4-5 years ago, might be even longer. "Planet of war" is the first time I hear about. Is that an addon for OFP or is that later on. Wasn't warfare introduced for the first time in Armed Assault? I honestly can't recall if there was already a warfare for OFP. On the photo the "Strategic warfare addon" is not readable. in any case thanks for your reply. kind regards -

Hey T.S.C. Plage man I have the same collection apart from "planet of war". I bought also "Behind enemy lines" when it was sold. What is "planet of war" and where did you get it from? kind regards
