I agree - I do not like the future concept - Lets stick with the now and within no more than next 10 years (tops). I also don't like the European setting (and Island) of A3. -

No. On the Vanilla A2 - That was my first thought when pulling up the editor and noticing only 4/5 maps avaliable. Not Tora Bora which I was looking for. But then I noticed Takistan was there. What I don't get is when I look at my ARMA20AProfile.file. It has all my tweaked accuracy and skill settings for enemies / friendlies as I had edited them. Not like it was a brand new A2OAprofile.file Which would have had everyone set back to their 1.0 default settings. I don't get it at all. Wait a second. It did create a weird new ARMA2OAProfile. I have a backup Profile I saved several days ago and sure enough the settings are diffreent within my skill and accuracy settings for enemies?? Now this is odd. ---------- Post added at 06:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 AM ---------- Oh. Well. I re-enabled my mods and copied back in my couple day old A2/OA profile and all seems ok......huh? But it is incredibly odd that some new profile was created (in that it was one with somewhat changed accuracy / skill ratings for enemies. Doesn't the default profile.file have all setting for enemy and friendly accuracu and skills set to 1.0? -

I just launched A2/OA. Was editing some missions and then went to log out. On log out, A2/OA just hung there....without logging out. Basically stalled screen. I had to shut down. (this never has happened before on log out). When I just relaunched A2/0A all my mods I have were disabled. I had to enable them again...and my profile setting were all revereted back to "default". Video, audio, profile pictures, etc.....all back to default settings? Is this a known bug within A2/0A?? -

No. No multi play profile. Just one profile (I play only SP). Which it kept (in terms of my name). But everything was back to default settings. Odd? Now my ARMA2OAProfile.file (within my, my folders section of my computer) is still there. With the tweaked skill and accuracy ratings. It is just very odd? That every mod was deactivated and all my settings set back to default (which sucks some because I had been testing of late a few months ago and got A2/OA running great on my system. Though I did not write down what I had everything set at. -
Setting enemy accuracy in editor ?

Well, even though at 1.0 I believe accuracy levles to be to low (for BluFor AI, especially sniper class). The setting of 0.15, should produce poor performance like you suggest. That is basically a 15 out of a 100 (total) score. -

I belive if you Sync or maybe it is Group several (1 by 1) marker locations with the Leader of the unit you are wanting to place in ambush.....You will not know which area they will spawn at. I do this with indivdual HVTs within towns/cities to give some randomness to finding them. Also, with your nul=[this,"waypoint1", "ambush","random", "min:",3,"max:",6] - If you just made the "waypoint1" into a larger 200 x 200 (lets say) zone. They would appear randomly throughtout that zone I believe. At least they do while patrolling. -

?? I've been very impressed by fortify, myself - AI takes smart advantage of homes, high points, etc. They will sometimes even group 2 or 3 in the same house (which can be very surprsing in clearning places). Not sure on the static weapons though. I know they will man static weapons on their own (outside of using fortify) with UPSMON. They do all the time for me. I've been shocked at how often they will climb up structures for great snipping locations. ---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:14 PM ---------- Can someone help me out with learning how to move patrol "zones" while in the game. I would like to have the ability to move my BluFor Zones while in the game play. Have them provide outter type security than move closer to where I'm moving once in the game. -

The underhand toss is what is needed (or the option of). It sucks that you can't toss them before entering a buidling or in close/tight outside covered areas... -
Sounds like your Video Card is overheating......Do you have a temp gague installed on your GPU to look at it.

Does placing Civs with say an UPSMON script assoicated with them. use more resources using ALICE or Civ Module?

Oh. Got it. Thanks for this info. I went and lowered something else I believe (that I saw set at 600). I will look for the "KRON-UPS-Sharedist" value. Is this a file on its own within the UPSMON script folder? Or within the UPSMON file itself? -

Where exactly can I edit how far in distance the AI will radio to one another - I think the default is 700 I read......How can I shorten it? Update - I found it, within the init_UPSMON file. Is there any harm in adjusting this down to 200 to 300? -

RH Mk18 pack 1.1 for OA / CO

Is this normal? I installed this mod - In one of my already created missions...I placed the RHMK18 Ammo Box. Play tested some. Then decided to disable RHMK18 Mod (this is after removing the RHMK18 Ammo box from the map). Yet, now the mission will not load (with an error that RHMK18 must be used??). Also, I noticed when using RHMK18. My guys did not have access to their smoke gernades. Within the "F" weapons cycle....Gernandes was not there any longer (even though I had several within my Gear). -

Looking at trying to find a way to place a friendly AI sniper for overwatch protection within different buildings. Think I will try to use the above method. Question what is the ID Button (when zooming map in editor). -
I've noticed (it seems) that friendly AI units (with a medic among them) tend to be KIA much more often than my unit (commmanded by me). Now, with my Unit I almost always us the "first aid modules". Is this why? It just seems my controled units will have more often WIAs not so many KIAs. Yet I look at the other friendly Units involved in an Operation with me...and then tend to have a much higher % of KIA among them.

I understand about directing my subs to get first aid (within my unit). I guess I just don't notice / see other friendly AI BluFor units peforming first aid on wounded men.

Ok. Thanks. Good to know. I guess I just don't often (if ever) see AI medics tending to men during or after firefights. I tend to see my unit if wounded (still alive and patched up). But my fellow friendly AI units tend to have a much higher % of KIA. (and I make sure to put a medic within each fireteam).

I did some small playtesting with simply giving each individual soldier his own UPSMON "nofollow" Patrol Zone.....and it seems to have worked rather well. Though, the question of will they still give buddy-aid (first Aid) to one another?? It doesn't appear so. -

Are there any "accuracy" issues with this mod? I would highly doubt it as all of RH mods are fantastic......but I thought I was reading recently where some were suspecting accuracy issues? Anyone notice this? -
Best formations for urban environment?

I tend to use the Tight Line formation (and double click the shift key) so movement is very slow and steady continous walk. It works fairly decently in Urban areas (and since A2 doesn't really allow for inside CQC, it is the best option I have found). Now, I still get very frusrated with the lack of response time of friendly AI with enemies that are closer than 50 yards. -
It is awful (especially so if there is any difference in elevations). I have repeatedly watched a AI team member fire clip after clip on a target - Only to then target the "enemy" he is shooting at and hit it within 2 shots. This typically happens when there are elevations differences between friendly and enemy targeted. I don't know any other word to describe that level of inaccurate shooting ...than awful.

I thought I've read that vanilla AI (if a medic is part of the team) automatically work to heal themselves and no "First-Aid Module" is needed?
