Hi, there. I used to make a content for A2 since 2012, but I finish to do it several years ago. Now I decided to come back in A3, downloaded some stuff from armaholic, but unfortunately it was closed. I use other resourses, but they don't have things wich I need, like some old mods for ArmA 2. I need to find original Robert Hammer's weapons pack. Could you help me with it?

First few I came across: (you need any of these ?)

    RH_hk416

    RH_M4

    RH_M14

    RH_Mgswp

    RH_Mk18

    RH_PDW

    RH_Pistol_pack

We use a lot of our own stuff, so these are just archived in 7-zip, there will also be unpacked ones to.

Probably more if there was more on AH, we'll probably have it.

As a group we hold a huge archive of mainly Arma/Arma2/Arma2OA, a little Arma 3 (not much). But getting all that together would be better done with organisation, we haven't the time, but once someone works out that side, we're happy to supply what we have.

On the other hand if you know the exact thing you want and need it, put the name on the thread here. We'll have a look, when we see it.

Another better hosting site imo would be to use Google drive which is free, and they give you 15gb of free space,

which you can buy more if you need it.

Then there is Mega which gives you 50gb for free, but if you want more space then it would cost you

$6.08 USD/ 4.99 € month which gives you 400gb of storage, you can ungrade for more space than that, theres also an app you

can have on your desktop like dropbox does check it out https://mega.nz/pro

with Mega you can pay $20 a month and get 8TB of space if you need it,

Drop box is limited to 3TB, and

Google drive is limited to 2TB

Very handy and worth knowing, thanks.

    _______

I have looked at my first 'ex hdd' and most of it is extracted stuff. But there is also around 100gb of 7-zip & winrar stuff which amounts to 1330'ish files.

As a group we'll have quite a bit, lot will be double's though, so would have to sift through. Later perhaps when organised.

I'll look at the next drive once you find out how your moving forward. Most of the stuff is extracted, huge amount. I could re-zip them, but would need to see if any have been altered (you know for my own use).

Anyway, good to hear about the other storage, because free drop box, isn't going to handle it, its full, just 2gb.

  3. Best way forward is to wait and see what files are needed to build the data-base.

I looked at dropbox for uploading a number of arma 2/oa islands. At the speed of upload I have here, it will take quite a while to get them onto dropbox for people to access (these are all either 7-zip or winrar).

I feel it would be better to wait and see what is missing/needed. Although I'll probably keep putting various arma files up there over the next days/wks.

     having just this forum

There is more than just this forum.

    __

I know the wargaming fraternity will probably hold the archives to the most past content.

Private groups is where a great deal of arma history is located/saved. Many of us care deeply about the game.

One I pulled out Ext HDD = 960gb ofp/arma related content (no missions), not just AH stuff.

On another  Ext HDD, I have 860 dl's still in 7-zip or winrar form, not sure what is in there, but its all the series and a lot will be AH stuff.

  5. I agree with more or less everything said in the thread.

It is very sad to see AH go, but sometimes running something like this can be very stressful in time and money. Also as said before here, the health of a person or people running sites like these must be thought about and we wish them the best for the future.

We run a private group member site around a mod, it's very small but we have a large archive and many members have similar archives of ofp-arma-arma2-arma3 mods, addons, scripts + full conversion mods etc.

But the thing foxhound did was keep it all updated very professionally. There was/is everything on there (more or less) that players, that want to fiddle about modding the series, needed.

We can but hope it survives somehow.

BI, looking at you to help, AH helped you more than you probably think, keeping the series alive. Time to give back.

It was a good forum to.

    ArmedAssault was another good place.

Such a shame and very sad.

  6. I'm not sure it's lost as such. I think he will still have the archives, so it may be took up.

I agree with everything you said, it's a part of Arma history and without AH, I don't think the series would have the number of players it does.

However there are large archives out there with players, I know Len61 & chrisb have huge archives plus we have a very large archive ourselves collected from all over the place. But hosting a site and everything that goes with that, not many people will want to do that.

In my opinion I think BI should take it on, it has given them so many players over the years, simply by letting players mod the game via AH. But we'll have to see.

  7. @orllak32, I'm sorry but you won't get 60fps with your setup. If you try low settings and say around 2000 view distance, you may be able to play with 30fps (perhaps).

It has to be said, if your playing arma as a tactical game, 30fps is enough. But don't put too many ai out there if your making your own missions, only want to meet a handfull at a time, for it to run.

Others may be able to help much more with your question.

    Good luck.

  8. It's very interesting.

How far does the ai go to complete tasks in cqc, i.e. does the player decide where they look & who they target etc ?

Who decides the stance & behaviour, ai or player ?

Good luck with this, arma is such a good platform for this type of gameplay, but at the same time.. not easy..

  9. OP,  yes I see your point, but really I look at this as paying for mods, better quality (perhaps), but mods all the same.

I don't play enough of arma 3 to warrant buying it. I think from what I have seen there is official BI content in the mod, but enough extra content made by the modders to be able to call it 'kind of' independent.

I think the issue is more around paying for mods and the argument on that over the years. This is a way they have used to enable better mods and makers to get rewarded for their work.

I pay, or lets say I contribute, where its worth it with some mods, happy to do so. I have to say I have paid much more than $20 or whatever it is for a mod, much more, so it doesn't sound all that bad to me.

But yes I get your point.

I'm not a pilot myself in the game (or real life), but it's nice to see the game from a pilots point of view. I never give much thought to our pilots (bless em), but this gives me an insight into their input into our scenario/missions.

    Great video.

Operation Latent Trend continues.  Watch in HD.

Watch all 4th MRB videos on our Youtube channel:  http://youtube.com/c/4thmrbNet

I enjoy these, it would be nice in first person, but I understand the argument for third person too.

Our groups play in first person only, everything has to be that way. But I enjoy the detail and feel you seem to put into your wargaming world.

A lot of the immersion is in the believing and feeling you give your world. Having intel and using it well, really gives a depth to gameplay. It helps growing that immersion without pulling a trigger too early.

    + occasional bugs fixing,
+ no features added to the game,
    + 2 or 3 paid DLCs released
+ further 10000+ freeware addons made by the community
    + additional 1mln copies sold
... and we still love this game, don't we?
It's been 7 years, and almost 20 years of me playing the whole franchise. There are still some of us who remember the shock we felt about how good and realistic the game was back in the day when OFP was released. Sadly, even the best things that happen in life tend to end one day. But it won't be today, buddy. I know some ppl who play OFP to these days. Wth the amount of content coming from this community, I can easily imagine ppl playing Arma3 in 2025 and beyond.

The series is without doubt, for me anyway, the best ever made. I tend to think the series topped out on Arma 2 plus its dlc's. However I play 3 a certain amount, long time since I kicked it up, but I do go in from time to time. I remain an Arma 2 player, like many players I know, I didn't move on, neither did the group I play with.

I won't move to 4 if it gets released, just too old now, but 2 gives me fresh things to play everyday and fresh things to work on.

I still occasionally plug the old xbox in and play Elite from time to time, for old time sake really. I didn't play ofp although I owned it, took a while to bother buying a decent pc to play it. But I was there by Arma and play to this day and hopefully for many years to come.

BI gave the player ways around things, its one hell of a series

Hello. By stealth, I mean: when you are the commander of a detachment and order your sniper to quietly eliminate the sentry, then he cannot do this (yes, the sniper has a silencer, etc.), because this will certainly be noticed by the rest of the detachment, even if the sentry is at a decent distance from his squad and commander. This must be played up with a script, trigger, or whatever. Covert elimination of the sentry works only in one case - this is when a hit in the head occurs, but unfortunately, even the sniper with the highest skill cannot fire a shot in the head or no matter where, in order to eliminate the sentry with one shot in 80% of cases. Maybe it’s not a headshot, but a headshot, and then everything will fall into place. I hope everything is clear) (Google translator) 🙂

Yes thanks, you made it nice and clear.

I understand with vanilla ai there are issues with trusting them to deal stealthly with one on one units quickly and with a single shot.

I would say use an ai mod, but as you say, you would like to see this in-game as vanilla behaviour.

If taking a vanilla squad for stealth scenarios, I would make sure all units were playable, then you yourself can take the shot.

As for ai mods, there are some that will deal with this, but again, that is an addon/script etc, not vanilla.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

    Hello BIS.

    A wish:

    1. A civil traffic module and a module that would revive the islands - a social module :), let it be like in the Ghost Recon wildlands.

    2. Female characters.

    3. Implementation of stealth.

    4. Implementation of the cleaning of buildings. 🙂 (Google translator) 🙂

    5. Map of the desert. Possibly Takistan remastered.

    6. Large map of the desert with access to the sea.

    7. New company.

    8. New missions.

    9. Russian coloring of all cars, airplanes and helicopters OPFOR.

    10. Russian voice acting for the support module (Headquarters).

    11. Black fish - fully used all his weapons against ground targets.

    12. Dinner Contact with the main game.

    13. Add more interaction with the members of the squad - let it be like in SWAT 4.

    14. Do not make a layout for photos from the game and stick to the army theme, for example, as in Arma 2.

    Ideas.

    1. Finish the Tara helicopters and their containers so that an empty helicopter can load them fully.

    2. To complete the A-164 so that it corresponds to the level of F / A -181, I mean its side lights.

    3. Return the ACM module to the game.

    4. Just copy and return the WARFARE module to the game. Sorry, but WARLORDS didn't come in as much as I tried.

    5. I bought and will buy in the future add-ons from third-party developers, but ... please prohibit the release of add-ons that do not match your level.

    6. Publish roadmap 2021 🙂

I quickly scanned through, you mention stealth. Do you mean adding to stock missions, because there is lots of stealth in the game already. I can only think you mean in BI missions/campaigns in the future.
