    Kinda defeats the point of the modular system really, I too don't understand why you don't just run the HiFi pbo's you like and remove the others addons you don't wont to run.
  3. Hi, For the people that have issues running this build of HiFi or ever wonder if it will be updated heres what I have to say about it... Even if Andersson finds some time to look at it, I shall not be supporting any version of the current build. Some of you know that I was able to continue modding thanks to the support of some good friends within this community and I guess my thoughts at the time were to 'make good' on getting HiFi onto the Arma2 platform as quickly as possible. So, I did it, but it was some half finished buggy mess. And thats not really what HiFi is about. HiFi is built & beta'd in house, then released for the masses. Thats the way it used to be, thats how it should have been... So, I thank you ALL for your support thoughout this addons lifespan, it was...interesting :) but now I ask the moderators to close this thread since no support will be given here on in. On a personal note, I'd like to thank all the guys that helped me get back modding again, you know who you are... Also I'd like to thank Kju whom made the modular sound template and has given me hours of his time explaining and helping me understand how BIS games work. Not forgetting BIS... OA rules :D good job ;)

  5. RKSL-Rock I just wanted to thankyou for all the work you've put in over the years to bring us some of the best addons made. Extra kudos for all the brit stuff too ! Its sad to see threads go this way, I for one wish you all the luck for your future, whatever that may hold :)

  7. Yes, you can since they are normally client side based mods, so you and your friends can all use different sound mods in the same game :)

    While this is true, I know the version that comes with this island is bang up to date, some of the news sites keep older versions, so at least this way I get it running without issues. So, I for one am more than happy to download the 'all in one' package. I'm not trying to start an arguement, but its up to addonmaker and whatever is easiest for them. Back on topic, Loving the island to bits, I love the terrain layout. There are plenty of ways to move around the island mostly unseen, which is awesome :) Thanks for the release Old Bear ;)
  9. Blacklord All thats needs to be done is add entries for some of the duplicate OA classes, I guess some of the inheritence don't work because OA is STANDALONE. So far I've found the AKM, RPK and M4 Aimpoint don't get fully overwritten by A2 soundmods, I'm sure there is more. Regardless I'm sure Chammy & Co will fix it soon.
  10. Not sounds, not to release level, If you want to change them for personal usage thats fine, however some edits to the config would replace OA explosions with HiFi. For now, until I get more time I cannot offer support or updates for this particular version of HiFi. It was a messy beta release that should not really have happened, but it did. However.. Andersson might be up for updating the config to support OA, can't promise that, but I just put it in writing so he maywell read it ;) Ooo, btw with regards to the latest version, I do believe thats available from kelly's heros via yoma sync.
  11. Hi, Is been awhile hasn't it... some news, I have currently stepped down from my position at Project Reality. The reason is a simple one, a question of time to be precise. This is related to my other news... I'm happy to say that I'm going to be a father again :) So, I'm going to be taking a back seat on the modding scene for the forseable future. The same goes for HiFi atm, If I somehow find time and the 2 joh/ns return I would take a swing at it. But my 2 hours a night have become 2 hours a week. This does not allow me to update anything properly, since I lack motivation and just like you guys, require a game once in a while thats how I'll spend my spare time :) Also, I've been trying to assist some of the newer guys here abit. I will do my best to continue that support for 2 simple reasons. 1. I recall how difficult it was to get going. 2. Good god, this game and OA need new sounds (despite the pro studio..) So, I guess you can say I'm going on paternity leave, unpaid ofcourse :)

If you look on my profile you'll see my contact info ;) I think your work, and your idea's would work well around a redefined core of modules. Once I show you what to do, it'll take you afew days to attach as many sounds to the guns as you like :D.     First off, Thanks Bad Benson for an excellent island, I love Afghan themed islands and this is a great addition ! @anyone Complaining.. Go back read the first post again, download the necessary files and most important of all... Appreciate that its free and the the guy put tons of work in to get it this far :P Again, thanks for a nice new island :D EDIT: Worked first time and runs smooth as silk.

  19. Hi, We'll be wrapping up this version of HiFi soon enough, I will 'try' to updated any sound issues when I can find time. From now on in Project Reality gets my 110%. So sound issues with HiFi may take longer to resolve. However, if you having specific problems and cannot live without fixes get intouch with me on msn. Details are on my profile ;) Steakslim Hi mate, I must remember to use that 'smashed assholes' line... awesome ! Heheh, back to your question. Yes, it can be fixed and just for you (and 1 other guy thats mentioned it) I'll make sure its fixed for the milestone release ;) A temp fix is to edit the volume within the config, I'd suggest -10 to -15db. That would help out and make the assholes less frustrating :)
  20. small update :) Andersson is back, just like the Grey Wizard he arrived in a puff of smoke and binary... He's gonna have a look at the Arty, see if he can tweak it to a better standard before he's called away on some other godly work ;) And yes, since someone has annouced this on another thread.... I'm with the BIGGUNS now, I've joined PR :D

  22. Hi guys, Well been alittle while posting, quite alot has happened over the last few weeks one way or another. Which kinda leads to me posting now, so I better get to it. HiFi Artillery has gone has far as I can take it, without assistance its far from working as it should. It does seem to work fine when used with an arty script.. Now I did say I was gonna release it if it got to a point where I could do no more with it. That point will soon be apon us. I'm awaiting some feedback regarding firing sounds after which I'll make the appropriate edits and release. I've also made afew small additions to the latest build with the help of andersson configs. The next pack will be a milestone release for HiFi. Because afterwards HiFi is taking a big break. I will on occasion when things get fixed config wise 'step back in' and update things but not to the extent you have come to expect from us. I have to say that this has been a great experience, one which has landed me a new role. Something that I'm really looking forward to. Something which I hope you guys will enjoy too in the near future.. Anyways, I'll keep you posted as regards to release. It will be soon next few days I should think..

    Arma 2 Sound Modding 101.

    Ahhhhh. :( Thats built into the engine I'm affraid. Normally its reserved for engine pitches (ie, rocket/missile/mortar engine or traversing sounds). As far as I'm aware there is no dodging it.. But then again, if you examine the engine configs, you will see settings to change this 'distance bubble' that surrounds the player next to each engine sound. I don't know if you could somehow edit that into what you have already as a means to control the pitch,volume etc... As far as I'm aware you can only use certain functions with certain arrays. EDIT: This is the part I was talking of mate, not sure if it helps... I'm not much help am I, anyone else want to help figure this possible GEM of a find out ?

    Nice mate I see what you did there, double volume & pitch entries is that what gets it working ? Hmmmm, by the looks of it the pitch parameters are neutral (1) for both volumes.. How odd that it changes pitch. Maybe thats why bis left it out...Hmmm. Still, very interesting find mate, well done ;). There must be a way of forcing constant pitch.. but if you've tried playing with the arty whistles yet OS you'll know thats a whole lot of fun :). Have you tried using the sound begin function ? maybe you could set lesser distances over multiple sounds ? maybe that would help kerb the pitch problems ? Anyways mate, best of luck with it really looking forward to hearing what you have instore for us. I was liking the m230 sound you had before :)
