    And Groove_c, you have come into this discussion somewhat late and don't entirely understand what has happened previously... It is very much about realism, and the whole reason I am still here discussing my opinion calmly, is because some of the changes were made for the reason of realism with no actual real life evidence to prove it was, in fact there was evidence against it. If these kind of changes are being made then how can the community trust those making the changes... And you do like to spout on about how this thread should be used for bug fixes, and other input on problems, but then you go ahead and mouth of to those in favour of the game just as much as the next person. All I have seen from those on the "anti-dayz" side of this discussion is complete ignorance, hypocrisy and utterly rude behaviour, with the occasional helpful post that has been drowned out by the likes of yourself going on about how long you've played this game, and basically saying that allows you to have a more important opinion................... What is the point.

    This post illustrates the ignorance currently held in this community. You say patches should always be on the base game itself.. WHY? Because previous games have, different games, in different circumstances, who's to say that A2 is not completely unique, well it is........... Patches to a game should be done with the largest player base in mind, unless the goal of the dev is to turn passionate players away from their beloved game? Which is just twisted. I love how loads of you are saying that it should never, ever be done about a mod, well here we aren't asking for changes to be based on mods, we are asking for changes that don't ruin the freaking game!! OK, so you know what annoys me as a player of both sides, the mil sim and dayz mods, is that in your ignorance you seem to get confused between DayZ the game and the mods. Overwatch and Epoch are the two mainmods for Arma 2 OA, and are based on that game, changing something like the dmr zeroing does not break the mods??? they work perfectly fine, as they work with the game, they do not need to be updated or changed. DayZ standalone is completely different to the mods for OA. Those mods are actually based on a mil sim, they give an awesome experience into surviving a zombie apocalypse if you were to have military spec weapons and vehicles available, so they work with the main goal of Arma, to be able to give a true mil sim experience, with the added extra of bases, traders and zombies. The mods are what most Arma players fell in love with nowadays, and the standalone game just does not compare, with its slow development and lack of features, it is much more likely people will not stop playing the mods OA. And saying a game development company can do more than enough for its audience, its players, the people that make them the money, is utterly stupid and infuriates me. How do you expect a business to keep being successful if it just gets to a point with its main customer base and says, oh wait yeah we did loads for you guys, go away, we're done with you and now we have to serve 3 people to make us all our money. It just doesn't make any sense? Arma 2 as it currently stands is not like any other game I have ever known, so why should it be treated in the same way? In this case, the mods do define the main game because they made it what it is today. All of those changes you are talking about Groove_c that you so kindly didn't complain about when they came out, happen before this game took off, before it reached insane popularity on the PC gaming circuit, so yes there should be some more consideration into what updates are pushed and when. A lot of what those against dayz are saying on here is utterly useless anyway, those of you that act like you care for the game but not for the majority are just ignorant, unwilling to accept the change in the games nature. It is utterly useless because the real devs, those that make the majority of changes and don't bad mouth the players, and just sit and watch these forums silently, have actually reverted many changes from the last corepatch, because they aren't stupid, they aren't ignorant, and they understand the real reason why they are making the changes, is to make this game the best game possible for the people playing it.

    Dearest SCHATTEN and all other devs occupying his view, I hope you are aware you can't say things like this and expect people to still take you seriously? To be a developer for a game and insult the very players you wish to help... For me you lost all credibility when things like the gunning angles of the venom were changed and I was told to pretty much shut up because it was changed for realism. Of which, was definitely not true, and had no real life basis to change it upon. I think if you want to continue to preach for realism. In a simulator. That's fine. But then don't change things like this that aren't real? Doesn't make any sense??? I love the game feeling more realistic, to be able to know that this is what actually goes on in wars and battlefields across the world. And that is why I still play just as much A2 as the DayZ mods. But how do you think I feel when I see you here saying all this crap about realism when the fire rate for the m134 gun isn't realistic... Nor are many features in the current game. If you want realism, you can't just get a few devs together and maybe change 3 or 4 features and a few guns, you have to overhaul the game to get rid of all the stupid bugs. i don't agree with comparing GTA to A2 but the guy that did it has a point, there are things in that game that are so much more realistic than in A2, simply for example, parachuting.... Maybe think about what you're saying before you say it, and also think for a moment how much of a task it would be to overhaul this game, and if you wouldn't be up for it, then don't change small features if you aren't willing to change all those broken things too. You know all of the fixes and things you've changed for the better are all appreciated, but don't expect people to say thank you for something they never asked for if it has made the game worse to play for them. That's like you crashing your car into me and then expecting me to thank you for it.

    This is the kind of changes that should be made to add realism, I'm all up for that, and thanks for putting the time into it. Will look into your mods a lot! I love aircraft in arma 2 and always want more. Keep doing what you're doing and making the game even greater :D

    Right so all of you complaining about us voicing our opinions on the updates, have you actually used a freaking venom in game??? Please, I beg you to try one and tell me that it is a realistic experience not being able to move the gun....

    You sound like a nice guy OMAC, those people flaming are the actual players, the guys who have just had their favourite game ruined by a bunch of people that don't even seem to care about the actual gameplay. I respect the amount of time these devs put into improving the game, but all of these changes make it worse to play the game... And saying to delete everything to do with dayz is stupid. The majority of the arma 2 population plays some form of dayz so disregarding their views just shows you don't care for the game at all. All we, the actual players, are asking for is that if you want to add realism, then fix all the stupid bugs that are totally unrealistic rather than changing things that work. I fail to see how that is a bad thing. I play armoury servers even more than dayz, and I love using the venom against jets, it's so much fun, but not when you can barely move the gun...

    But you understand how hypocritical you sound right? With the ability to have your hand through the dmr barrel, and all the other things that are broken in the game, they aren't realistic?? Why don't you add these features to things like ACE, people don't want these features in arma 2... But no thought has been given to the actual players lol And why are things like this being changed now, its been that way for years, literally years. And we aren't even arguing about the dmr, but for some reason you keep reiterating the unrealistic features of it, and ignoring the fact that realism isn't being followed with the helicopters........

    "Maybe tomorrow." You're a dev for a game and your players are telling you something is bad, something is wrong and could you fix it, and your response is you might do it, and tomorrow?? Surely those who play it are your main audience and you should cater to what plays best in the game?? Why do you actually develop this game? Because it doesn't make any sense to me, you don't seem to care about anyone that plays it....

    Schatten.... Now you don't seem like a very friendly guy. Why are you saying stupid things like this to people that are just voicing their opinion on this thread...? Says a lot about your credibility here to me tbh. And why are you only responding to things that you've managed to find real life proof of, like the scope zeroing and your little mi17 snapshots, what about the fact that the guns on helis like the venom and blackhawk have completely unrealistic values now? Even though you're saying its been done for realism.... The actual values from many videos and military sources are much bigger than has been implemented.... I do like how you ignore posts about these, but then use your own broken screenshots to justify the mi17 changes. The changes to guns in the helis may stop the kind of thing you see in your pictures, only because the angles are now stupidly restrictive you have no chance of ever getting your gun near the side of the heli. I just think as someone sitting there spouting out stuff about realism and asking people to go read up on stuff, to become as knowledgeable as you are on the subject, you are quite strange because the changes that have been made to helis don't reflect actual values at all? Oh, do you know the actual gunner angle values for the different armed helis? No? Find and read info.

    Yes! Minigun changes were unecessary, whilst we appreciate the effort, they make fun gameplay just impossible. When do you think the reverted changes could be done? or if this was possible..

    OK shaun how do you suggest we get this undone, because I think most of the devs that have done it read this, so why haven't they fixed the unintentional issue??? Can we get some hot fixes please devs? We need to be able to use armed helicopters........................................ in an army game...................................

    Ok, we can live without manual fire, no one has complained that it's gone, but one one has complained that manual fire was unrealistic, so why was it even edited at all?? So you're telling me that the angle of fire will be fixed?? As it was unintentional, it should be fixed right? that should definitely be reverted as it makes the heli unusable and wasn't the intention of the update.
