  1. I've tried ArmA3 on my 2017 Dell XPS13 which is a similar class laptop, but with current gen. HW, The game runs, but I wouldn't use it for demanding scenarios or large MP games. The graphics needs to be lowered and the frame rates are positioned at about 25fps on an empty map in the editor. I've also tried it on a local server in a low scale infantry mission and the overall responsiveness of the keyboard and mouse is very different compared to my Desktop.

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

    We've used to carry 8 mags during long or high probability fire-fights missions. On standard patrols and such we were carrying 6 in the vest + 1 in the M4, so 8 mags is not so much. At least when you know you might use some of them and resupply will take some time.

  6. Can anyone tell me the init. command for the E2C Hawkeye "wing folding" command? I'm trying to place a packed Hawkeye on the new CVN83 carrier but it doesn't automatically packed on mission start as it was on the Nimitz or on the ground. Thanks.

    During game you should have an action menu option. In the editor: For CUP helis, look at their website's FAQ section for a list of init scripts for each heli. For RHS helis, you can just double click on them and in the bottom of the dialogue box you will have a checkbox for folding rotors.

  10. Thanks Chairborne! for anyone interested, the full command is: null=[this,1] execvm "\CUP\AirVehicles\CUP_AirVehicles_MH60S\Data\Scripts\MH60S_fold.sqf"; is there a way to execute the init command in the EDEN editor so it will be visualized/executed before previewing the mission?

  12. Are you trying to fix the orientation issue (making it face north)? or the "spawning 50m west every restart" bug? Maybe try to have it face in a certain direction first, in order to isolate the issue. If you could "dumb down" the script to have a main variable for direction instead of the trigonometric function - 0, 90, 180 and 270 deg. Or a fixed direction (90deg.) Maybe it will help. The original A2 version also only supported 90 and 270deg. But the translation issue seems new to A3.
  13. Hi, I was trying to implement the LPD-29 static ship mod which was created for ARMA2 in a training mission I'm creating. While this mod "works" in ARMA3, it has a little bug. When the ship is placed in the 3d editor at a certain point, it actually spawns ~50m west of its original position - when previewing the mission (causing the helicopters on the landing deck to spawn in the middle of the ship- as it can only be oriented from west to east). Then, when getting back to the editor, the ship is located at its new location and when previewing again it jumps another 50m west and so on... anyone have any suggestion or experience with this kind of behavior? Thanks.

    Are vehicles supposed to be realistic too?

    Some of the issues you've mentioned might be related to joystick calibration and keybinding. Try to open the windows controller maneger and check that your stick is centered. After that, hop in the Comanche helicopter and see if your throttle range is from 0 to 100% in the HUD If it does, check that your jet controlls are the same as your helicopter controlls. I'm personally bind the jet positive throttle axis to the stick's throttle and the negative to an "air brake" button.

    The X47/UCAV they show in the video actually have a tail hook and hinged wings, shown as separate models - which can indicate that they're both can be animated. as well as the front gear part that attaches to the carrier catapult on both new NATO jets. also, the F18/22 hybrid has "NAVY - USS Freedom" written on it. the motion capture guy does look like he's doing the carrier takeoff moves. Static carrier confirmed? :)

    Is this going to integrated into the RHS mod in the future or are you planing on a standalone release? the Leupold scope with the ARMS mount will be a perfect fit to a mk12 SPR.
  18. in case anyone is intrested in ArmA preformace on ultrabooks: i've tried it on the Dell XPS13 i5-7200U (intel 620 iGPU), PCIe SSD. ​every setting on low or standard, no AA, 1080x1920, 1000m VD im getting ~24fps in the editor and in low AI pupulated simple misions in the Tanoa cities ~20fps. ​just for the science, i've tried 3200x1800 and its about ~4fps :( so its fine for editing and testing.

The Dell XPS 13 9360 have an active cooling system, so it should keep it from thermal throttling, As for heat, im sure it will be better than my main laptop (Precision 5510~=XPS 15) as its getting extremely hot to a point that the carbon palm rest becomes too hot to rest your hand on (while runing ARMA) At least according to early XPS13 reviews, the max temp. Should be reasonable. Thanks for the linked article, ill google translate it later.
  20. Thanks, That Pentium G4500 specs seems very close to the mobile i7-7500U maybe even less. I hope that it will be possible to edit missions and such with it while im away from my other machines.
  21. Hi, Anyone here have any experience with runing ARMA on an ultrabook with IGPU? Im going to get the new Dell XPS 13 with the low power dual core i7-7500U @ 3.5GHz and integrated GPU. can i expect at least that the 3D editor to work? (Low settings, no AI, 1080p) I know this machine is underpowered and it will be used while im flying or on the road (for ARMA). Thanks.

    *RAP36 as for game mechanics like scope elevation and windage adjustments as well as wind effecting bullets and rangefinders you can turn to ACE3 mod. in that mode you can enable some advanced ballistics options which will effect the trajectory according to the angle, range and wind. as for more contemporary weapons - you can use other mods like: CUP_weapons, RH weapon packs and RHS packs. and as for tactics and situations, a gameplay with a human spotter against AIs or humans in an MP environment will probably give you what you are looking for... there you will be able to implement the thing you've learned in the sniper field guide and the ultimate sniper book. and it is really depended on the scenario you are in. Large scale MP missions against AI for example: Patrol Ops, Invade and Annex... (on a serious server). and of course you could always use the editor to just place yourself somewhere with some pop up targets in various ranges and practice... (just make sure to enable the wind and advanced ballistics of ACE3). the standard ARMA3 game does have ballistic simulation for bullets but no wind simulation, and the scope adjustments are in 100s of meters and not in MOAs of Mils. (and a mix of fictional and real rifles and scopes).

  24. really nice progress! will you release the ship in stages? like static, static+physx, interiors... so we could start enjoying this beauty. you can also consider the San Antonio class as it has many other uses like a larger helipad, well deck.... there were WIP mods for the LCS1 and the Arleigh Burke, maybe you could contact them.
