    Aftermath Rush Gamemode [BETA]

    I know Aftermath hasn't been as popular as it has been the past week or so but one change to the game that has happened recently i disliked. 3rd Person Perspective. I can understand some reasons why people want this. N00bs might appreciate this change now since they can have GOD MODE awareness ( magically peek around corners with unrealistic camera without being exposed ). also in the fact that helicopters are more difficult to fly ( and land ) in first person. I however am seriously turned off by 3rd person being enabled. I wholly believe that 3rd person takes away from the experience. I don't want to write a long post explaining why i hate 3rd person and why i think it shouldn't have it. First Person i feel is a HIGHLIGHT of the gamemode not a con. 1st person flying forces you to become a better pilot not a lesser one. I think precision flying in this game isn't really all that important except for landing. To which 3rd person is the biggest reason why its good for flying is for landing. You can still make EXCELLENT use of the attack helicopters in first person ( maybe even better for some like me ) so i think the negatives outweigh the positives IMO. Being able to peek corners i think gives an ENORMOUS advantage to defenders since the campers can feel safe knowing the have an invisible drone 1.5 ft above their head that gives them absolute tactical superiority over the attackers. Dont get me wrong. I still LOVE AFTERMATH 4 LYFE. But I atleast wanted to voice my opinion here since no one else has. I am deeply, profoundly, dissatisfied by this change and would wish to go back to the good ole' hardcore days like first person shooters are supposed to be.   2. This is what i imagined unmanned systems would look like 20 years from now and really fits in with the setting of the game. I too was long disappointed with the variety of unmanned systems and the lack of smart weapon systems in general. I would also love to see more unmanned ground vehicles with more capabilities as i would expect so far into the 21st century. However, the stunning and superb quality of this mod is more than enough for now. Finally we have an unmanned weapon system with some real lethality.
  3. I really wish more people played this. Most people who do play seem to be in the EU. Here in the US/NA, peak time is usually sometime in the morning/early afternoon. And then of the people who do play, most (so far) that I've seen since this game-mode went RHS only, seem to play on only one server. I hope and pray that i am wrong but it seems like the player base has shrunken significantly since this change. I bet if more king-of-the-hill players knew about this, they would never play that laggy, crap again. The appeal of that game mode i think comes from its casual pick up and play style and largely the same reasons that Aftermath is so great. Don't get me wrong. I love some slower paced/team-tactical missions/mods like breaking point or Altis life. But sometimes i just want to get some quick 30 min action that doesn't take 20 mins to gear up, load up in chopper, and THEN i can play only to die by aim-bot AI. On the other hand, i could just go play the real battlefield rush mode which is fun in its own right. However, it lacks the true simulation feel that we all know and love about ArmA the most. I literally play this game mode daily and wake up early just so i can get on at peak times. To conclude this short post, I would also like to say thank you for rejuvenating my interest in ArmA again after falling out for a few months. Though ArmA is my most favorite game of all time second to only Supreme Commander (old RTS game), I glad i finally have something worth my time.

    I'M just glad there is Russian and US forces now. Sometimes it was kinda hard to tell whose hostile with default arma 3 nato/aaf units. Now its much more obvious in close range. Besides, the more weapons, the merrier.

    Why is KOTH not dead yet? Why does this game mode not have an endless scroll bar of full servers that everyone is trying to get into? This game mode is like the best thing that ever happened to ARMA IMO since bipods. I'm not even joking, this is so awesome, my $30 i spent for this game has been justified. OH and now we got US server??? GG. No Re.....

    PLEASE! Give us more servers! I love this game mode to death and is such a better experience than what king-of-the-hill tries to be. This is exactly what i needed to get back into Arma 3. I have been wanting a mod like this for so long. I love the pace of the progression system and it just encourages you to jump back in and get more guns. I really don't care that this is a copy cat of BF because this game mode works SOOOO well for Arma 3 I'm just dumbfounded that Bohemia didn't include something similar. However there are 2 things that I REALLY dislike about this mod: 1. Map Vote. --------------------------- Ok. I get it. People should be able to choose the map like most other FPS's. However, when the only 2 maps the people choose to play(regardless of server) is Pyrgos and Kavala it starts to get a little dull. I can see the appeal of the two maps but i much prefer a rotation since NOBODY will choose any other map 80% of games. The other maps are completely pointless if everyone refuses to differentiate because they are scared to play on a map that is not CQC. 2. Vehicles --------------------------- Don't get me wrong, i LIKE having vehicles. i just don't think there is enough of them. And by that i mean that there are no armed ground vehicles. I'm not asking for much, its just that if all the effort was taken to make it seem like the rush game mode from battlefield, then it would make since to include ATLEAST an armed hunter. Now i understand the possibility of making vehicles OP but there are ways i think this can be handled. First by taking away thermal/NV + Hubble telescope zoom. This is what i think primarily makes armed vehicles OP for PVP games. Next is to cap its speed to a reasonable level so as to make them a fair target for an RPG. And it will give the engineer class more usability since lots of people spam Recon/Support class. Third, I would severely limit the amount of ammo a vehicle is supposed to have. This should help nerf vehicles as not to make them OP. It saddens me that combined arms/Mechanized infantry are neglected so much in the Arma 3 multiplayer community. Despite all this i still love this game mode/Mod more than anyother by a long shot. Since this is still in beta i cant wait to see what content gets added next.
