nd23rin 10 Posted July 16, 2010 Hi all, Just getting into ARMA 2 OA and such. Enjoying it so far, but I feel like I am not getting the maximum performance with my system. I can't figure out what the bottleneck is. CPU - I7 running 3.8GHZ GPU - Single Radeon 4890 RAM - 6GB OS - Win 7 64bit HDD - Can't remember off hand, but pretty much standard WD HDD MOBO - EVGA X58 It's not so much that the game does not run smooth....I run basically on High settings but not max by any means. The game (especially multiplayer) seems to be stuttering a lot and trees and such are drawing slowly as I move. I am considering an upgrade of sorts, possibly to a Radeon 5850 or 5870, but not sure if it's worth it....perhaps a SSD would help more Any suggestions? Montanaro 0 Posted July 16, 2010 The tree drawing is due to flaws in OA itself. Just going to have to wait. As long as you get good FPS, I wouldn't complain. If you upgrade anything it should be video card. But I believe the 4890 if it's 1GB should be more than enough.
Simon C 0 Posted July 16, 2010 Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications. People should really check Sticky threads before posting in a forum. :p
MavericK96 0 Posted July 16, 2010 I would say, if anything, get a new video card, though yours is pretty decent. That, or get an SSD and hope that helps.
