Chat key doesnt toggle - need to hold it !

as described in the title, my chat key doesnt toggle. I always need to hold the chatkey with one hand and type with the other one. as you can figure out, this is a very complicated and slow method of typing... I tried turning off ingame voice chat but didnt help. tried different keys, didnt help help too.

Im running OFP with redhammer and goldupgrade + 1.46 patch.

can anyone help me please?

I'm confused. You aren't talking about voice chat, since you said you turned that off. So you holding down the chat key ('/' and the keys for typing your message?

Have you tried creating another user (which would use the default key assignments) to see if that user has the same problem?

yes I dont speak about the voice chat. Im talking about the typing chat I need to hold down my text-chat key while I type in my message. Ive treid creating another user but that didnt help.

So you are pressing the chat key, a little window pops up for you to type the message, and the window closes by itself before you press ENTER or ESC?

if I dont keep it pressed, it will, yes.

Do you have a programmable joystick or game pad or other controller that might be generating key sequences?

yes, a ch-flightstick. but it is till when I disconnect it. I dont have problems in other games.

Have you checked the key assignments in the Controls screen to see if there are any conflicts? Beyond that, I'm out of ideas.
