Aculaud 0 Posted April 21, 2002 Normally, to get an a10 LGB to make an accurate air strike, you do this: With the a10 under your command, and with you as the target designator, you laze the target and tell the a10 to target the laser target. This gives pretty accurate results. AI will not do this. I set up an experiment with me as a black op day, my leader as a black op day (laser), and an a10 lgb on our team. the target was a t80. my leader told the a10 to attack the t80, and then he gave the order for him to disembark causing him to die. I believe this is a bug.
HellToupee 0 Posted April 21, 2002 works ok where its not controlled by sum one on the ground we did a coop desgating the enemy base and one guy decied to experiment by pointing it at my foot while we were watching the explosions one came a little to close for comfort but we respawned on the sopt. Aculaud 0 Posted April 21, 2002 yeah, even if its still AI, as long as you have the bomber under your command, and designate the target yourself, it will work. I just think they should fix this so that AI can do it alone, so all we have to do is Radio for an air strike or something, and they'll do the rest.
nyles 11 Posted April 21, 2002 Another thing that happens for me sometimes is that AI dive attacks way to low (as if the a10 would attack with the minigun), drop the bomb, pulls up but gets caught in the explosion. I made a test mission for this and the a10 either droped 1 or 2 bombs in a perfect run or sometimes dived down to maybe 15 metres above ground. The bomb has been released during the dive downwards but the a10 can't manage to pull up high enough to get away from the blast radius. In some attack runs it didnt even threw a bomb at all and got caught by one of the AA-soldiers near target site. This happened very rarely, though.
Aculaud 0 Posted April 21, 2002 yeah, laser guided bombs have so much potential, but BIS and Codemasters need to get it together so they actually work.
LordZach 0 Posted April 21, 2002 once i lasered a target (T72) and he used up all his bombs missing. laser was right on it too but the bombs kept exploding everywhere but the T-72. AI could use a little tweaking on it.
