zild1221 10 Posted June 18, 2010 Hi. Arma 2 has been working flawless for me for the past few weeks. It is a miracle. Now my brother and my cousin have it and we want to play in the same house. This is when the problem comes up. I can connect to my dedicated server fine. I can play with my friends all night and have no problems. AS soon as my brother or cousin try to join, it says "failed to connect" for them, and then I redlink and lose connection. Each one of us can connect separately, but never multiple at the same time. My router is DMZ'ed for my PC. There are no firewalls on any of the pc's and it is also off on the router. Hopefully someone can help. WE would not have spent more money on two more games if we new this was going to happen. Thanks in advance.
Nephris1 10 Posted June 18, 2010 When i get u correct, u want to play with 3 pc in the same house in the same network on a dedicated server. The network within the house is working properly? Means no IP errors/conflicts, like the use of same IP adresses? Can u ping each other in the network? "just in case:start-execute-cmd-ping 192.168.x.xxx (local IP adress)"
zild1221 10 Posted June 18, 2010 Well. pinging them is working. I can even transfer files. I have never had any problems with my router.
Nephris1 10 Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) Well, I never used local Lan since OFP on a dedicated one. -I suppose u opened all recommended ports?Actually a rethoric question only. -Can u connect altoghether at the same time on a dedicated server hosted by any group out there in the ArmA2 Server browser? -If pinging is working the network should be fine ,dont get me wrong plz m8, i am no professional network administrator, so i also just guess and check the points i would check. -Did u try to connect on the dedicated, without a mission loaded and without mods (although the mods shouldnt be any prob). -Are u able to connect to each other if e.g. you create a listen server? zild1221 10 Posted June 18, 2010 Interesting... We were able to join the server when there was no mission loaded yet... We are in and this is working. The bad part is though that if we do not do this every time and one of us tries to join late we will be kicked. How to overcome this...
zild1221 10 Posted June 19, 2010 Anything? This is really annoying. My game crashed and now I cant join back up because it will crash my cousin and brother. By the way, the server is hosted somewhere else, not on my connection. We are just connecting and playing online.

We are just connecting and playing online. Have you tried hosting a game and then have them join? Does it work? If the server is not on your network then you will have a problem connecting because all 3 of your computers are using 1 ip adress which Arma doesn't like and boots all of you. I had this problem before and had to get my internet company SHAW cable to give me 2 more ip's so that I could connect to other games. This might be your problem. zild1221 10 Posted June 19, 2010 We can all join eachother if I host a listen server. The weird thing is though that my friend and hist GF, who live together can connect to the server fine. URRRR.
Nephris1 10 Posted June 19, 2010 We were able to join the server when there was no mission loaded yet... The mission is made for more than 3 or 4 players? Alhough this should prevent you only of joining a mission.
zild1221 10 Posted June 19, 2010 The mission is made for 32 players. This is annoying.
Nephris1 10 Posted June 19, 2010 I checked ya setup today with 2 pcs in my local network and a "weak" dedicated server inside. As i got 2 versions of ArmA2 "only" i couldnt check a 3rd connection. But as result i had no probs. Did u check your single Game IDs of th pcs connecting? The Ids are listed in the dedicated server gui (next to other locations), and may not be the same! zild1221 10 Posted June 20, 2010 I really do not understand what you were trying to say here. Either I am missing something or you misunderstood my situation. I will try to explain a little better. I am renting a server from a company. I can join the game fine, and tons of other people can join the game fine. Even my friends that live in the same house can join the game fine. When my brother attempts to join (on the same network), he gets "failed connecting" and I red link and lose connection. This happens opposite if he is in the server and I try to join. Because you are both using the same ip adress which arma2 doesn't like. Like I said before, you need to connect using 2 or 3 different ip adresses. I think there is a way around that but you have to search the net for it. I had this same exact problem and I needed to get 2 more ip adresses.
zild1221 10 Posted June 21, 2010 I know of 4 people that play together in the same houses. None of them had to do a single thing. Around here ISP's wont just give you more IP's. That would require another modem.

EDcase 87 Posted June 22, 2010 I have played with 2 machines on LAN with no problem but that was not connecting to internet.
