Need Help: Placing Objects and Trenches?

I need help in the ArmA 2 Editor. When I put down building stuff like lets say I'm trying to make a small outpost with sandbag walls its hard to tell how well they are put together from a 2d aspect. Then I go in game and the walls aren't even lined up the right direction instead of l its _. Is there anyway i can place the objects in game like in the WARFARE Construction? I don't like the 3d editor I don't get it.. And I don't even know how to use trenches?

Shift and click drag rotates objects. Then you preview and check if it looks right.
