ayjay 117 Posted June 14, 2010 ...but I have searched for the answer and although it's probably there I am too thick to see it. I want to change something in the PBOs Description.ext so I unPBO using the ArmaUnPBO programme sending it to a folder where using notepad I make the changes then I rightclick on the folder where I am asked to rePBO and given the choice of a list of programmes. I choose ARMA2 it loads up and I get the mission in Single missions but when I terminate Arma and look in the newly created PBO file all I get is a Mission sqm. Where am I going wrong? Apologies in advance Ayjay
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted June 14, 2010 Ok. First, you need to work on your punctuation. Second, I can't (probably because of your poor grammar) understand what the issue is. All I'm getting is that you're trying to pack a PBO, and somehow it's not working right, is that right? What are you using to pack it? Ugh, I've read your post so many times now and I still can't understand what it was you were trying to do. :butbut:
cri74 10 Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) As i read it you are trying to change something in the Description.ext ? There is a program you can use to view files inside the PBO (missions files). Personally i use PBO viewer, you can allso pack and unpack PBO's with this program. Simply create a Edit folder on your desktop or location you think is handy, copy the PBO you want to extract to that location then use the PBO-viewer to unpack it. It wil create a new folder with all of the mission files inside that folder so its easy to keep track of where you got the files in the first place :) Open the Description file with example notepad, if you allready bound the files to open with another program, right click it and select notpad from the "open with" option. After you make changes to a mission file its kinda "code of conduct" to name it somewhere in the mission that you made changes to original material if its not your own creation. Then simply click the pack button and you got yourself a new PBO(mission file) with the edit you just made. You should allso name the edited PBO different than the original material so you dont send edited missions around with the original name of the PBO. Example if you edit a mission called Charlie 4, name it example Ajay_Charlie 4 or sommet. Copy it back to your MPmissions folder and play with friends or to your Missions folder to play it as singleplayer:) Edited June 14, 2010 by cri74
