INVICTUS 10 Posted June 25, 2010 I have 2 GTX 275's and I think they play the game just fine the PPL getting memory errors need to re-enable the page file in Vista and Win7 that is the main culprit of the memory errors in my experience. ***Note*** back in the day for XP the swap or page file Windows created was very poor they have since optimized this and if you need more speed just install a SSD and point it to that... :)
Component Actual 10 Posted June 25, 2010 It looks like we finnaly have a real viable solution to the out of memory errors!:yay:I have been using the 7 series beta builds for about 2 1/2 days now and have not seen 1 out of memory error. Usually I would see about 2 an hour or even more depending on what map I was playing on and the mission. Invictus is right that the page file is the main culprit behind the out of memory errors. But if you were using the 1.05 patch you couldn't let windows manage the size of the page file on its own or you would get the out of memory error. One thing you could do was manually set the page file to 1.5 times the amount of RAM you have or greater. Only problem with this in my experience was that the game would start running pretty slow once you hit the amount of time/the area of the map that would have previously crashed the game. Sometimes even the entire screen would go black and the game would say "receiving...". It is important to noet that if you are running a 64 bit OS with 4GB or more of RAM and the new 1.07 patch or one of the new 717xx beta's than you DO NOT nee to use the -MAXMEM=2047 or -WINXP parameters. I repeat you do not need and should not use these parameters! The improvements in the new patch allow your game to use more than 2GB of RAM by making the EXE largeaddressaware so if you use the maxmem command you are shooting yourself in the foot.
