JasonDD 10 Posted June 7, 2010 Is there a way I can make my avatar keep running in the game, without having to keep the W key depressed all the time? Sometimes in CTI I am faced with a long walk, that can take 5 or even 10 minutes. It would be a good opportunity to make coffee, or even take my dog out to piss, if I could leave the keyboard. At the moment, I use a bit of blu-tac and a paperweight to keep the key depressed...

jblackrupert 14 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) There are gaming keyboards with keys that do that. The Microsoft Sidewinder X6 for example has a dedicated RUN key at the top. They call it "Cruise control" : http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=102&active_tab=overview Edited June 7, 2010 by jblackrupert

JojoTheSlayer 35 Posted June 7, 2010 Is there a way I can make my avatar keep running in the game, without having to keep the W key depressed all the time? Yes, in my voice profile you can say "Auto move forward" and it will toggle down the W key. To turn it off you just press w once. Its one of the first things I added tbh. You can do similar with vehicle turbo with the voice command "Turbo on" and "Turbo off" for toggle off, or just press left shift once. More info.
sparks50 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Logitech G-series keyboards can be programmed to do this. You set a g-key with on/off to W.
50.cal 10 Posted June 7, 2010 If you want I can provide you an AutoHotkey script that will do this for you. That's what I'm using for vehicles.

I did hear it somewhere, but didnt understand the name very well. Corrected, thanks. =D About what i said, I wasnt being stupid, just never thought that someone really wanna do that. For me, it sounds really silly to make the in-game caracter walk by itself in the middle of a warzone while Im afk. As I always try to find the best cover and position everytime I need to go afk. _neo_
