aigmeyer 10 Posted May 4, 2010 I have always had trouble taking good, scenic screenshots. I have fraps but the interface gets in the way of a good picture, along with when trying to take pictures from the sky, the helicopter/plane cockpit gets in the way. I am asking for a good way to take nice screenshots like many others on the forums.

desertjedi 3 Posted May 4, 2010 Aside from using the pointers in that wiki for screenshots, the best screenshots I've ever made were frames extracted from FRAPS video I shot while flying the camera all over the place and with the camera attached to vehicles and jets. I use VirtualDub's jog wheel to spin through the video with my mouse. When you find a great shot, you can export the frame as a screenshot. When you're up and close and personal, especially with jets, Arma 1/2 looks like a whole different game. You can see some of that in the jet sequences in the video in my sig.</shamesless plug>
Alex72 1 Posted May 5, 2010 For infantry/vehicle shots where you are in control over your unit you can also use an old trick i often use. Add yourself and one more AI you control (or a quad depending on what you want screens of) and then when in game just press the command view button wich is the "," (comma/del) on the numpad. Now you can turn the camera around and zoom in/out and get some nice shots. Press ESC - Video Settings - HIDE to get a clean screen. Before pressing the command view button you can also have zoom pressed in ("+" button on numpad) this will give a zoomed in FOV. You maybe guess it, but yes you can also hold "-" on the numpad and then press the command view to get a really big FOV. All great tools for nice screens. Have fun.
