max power 21 Posted April 23, 2010 I've been writing a tut explaining how to create and use cavity maps. Since this is normal map dependent material, I've written quite a bit about the basics of normal maps as well. I'm far enough along so that it's intelligible, so I'm going to publish the alpha (as it were). It's pretty lengthy but has some pictures. The notes section at the top is for my own benefit to remember what I'm writing about. Special thanks to BadBenson, Bink, and CMcD for proofing it. All feedback and crits are welcome. Anything like I should consider breaking the two sections into separate tuts, you don't like the language I use, you consider my information incorrect- anything- will be considered and appreciated. [aps]gnat 28 Posted April 24, 2010 Nice work MP Seems fine as is but I'll probably have to read it (and play) a couple times before it sinks in ... thats normal ;)
max power 21 Posted April 24, 2010 Thanks for the initial feedback. Just a warning that some of the normal polarity information may require some revising. I'll double check it and post back when I have it all sorted out.
