Geo Lod can walk through walls

Recommended Posts

hi all

im new to modelling in o2. so i made a house made from simple boxes. every box is one wall. after i made them in 0.000 lod i copied them all into the geo lod. there i selected find components and hit the component convex hull button. then i tried it in the editor. the textures and all work, but i can walk through my walls

i really need help. what did i wrong or did i forget?

Well maybe you have to hit the find components button again, select the whole model and give it a weight/mass... somewhere in the lower left corner.

i just tried your advice but it didnt help. it looks like the walls have no thickness.

if i walk through them, they are thin like a sheet of paper. butin oxygen they should be 0.2m thick.

pls help

3d programs usually cull back faces. This means they only usually render the surface of faces facing in one direction. That visual behaviour when you clip through objects is normal.

As for your clipping problem, if you've defined all of your geoLOD components and they area all separately convex, I don't see why this is happening. In the GeoLOD, try to find non-convexities under the structure menu to make sure everything in convex.

Have you added any mass to them?

It sounds like you havent... ;)

But just to make sure:

1 - Always check for open geometry. Structure> Topology > Find non Closed.

2 - Do a Structure> Convexity > Component Convex hull.

3 - Check your mass. Make sure you have the Mass window visible. Window > Mass - make sure its ticked.

Now select all, Ctrl+A and look in your mass window. If it reads 0 then you just type in the value you want in Kg.

Save the file and go check it in game.

the complete steps i did:

i crated boxes in the 0.000 lod

copied them into the geo lod

checked for non closed

component convex hull

find compnents

apply mass

if i select a box it has a mass. is there a limit of polys? my wallls are big and i have thousands of faces and points.

dont know what i should do else?!

Can you post a pic of the geo? Or email me the geo lod. It may be that you geo lod is too complex.
