Taurus 20 Posted April 14, 2002 ..bushes? This is so ridiculous, why have Bohemia Interactive coded the AI soldiers with x-ray vision and "hawk-eyes"? Some missions is impossible to manage due to this, and if I did not know better I would throw my OFP-CD in the trashbin. (which I would not do, but the thought has struck me) The question is if it is possible to set the AI sight to a more human level? Not all can run this game with 1600*1400 in screensetting you know. Someone having the same problems? Perhaps BIS can tell me why this happens 98% of the times and what I can do about it(except hiding out until the battle is over) /taurus
ALDEGA 0 Posted April 14, 2002 Do you have super-ai on? Normally AI cannot see you when you're in a bush (and they haven't spotted you yet). Remember that AI uses the binoculars too, so once they located you, they will start firing. Any experienced OF player is capable of engaging (and eleminating) enemy units at this range. (ofcourse it will take more than one shot)
Taurus 20 Posted April 15, 2002 No, I'm playing the game in cadetmode. For custom missions, does the skill rating add seeing/x-ray abilities to the AI?
Tovarish 0 Posted April 15, 2002 Make sure you have the latest patch installed, (v 1.46). The AI's sense of sight and hearing is now linked to their skill level, so less skilled AI soldiers aren't as likely to detect you. When I first started playing this game it also seemed to me that the AI could spot you way too easily, but you learn to counter it by staying low, and moving from bush to bush whenever possible. The crawling position can be your best friend, if you just run around at full speed across the battlefield you won't last long.
