Bloody Laser Designator

Ok, so I'm an idiot. I've read descriptions here on searching for my answer regarding USE of the laser designator. But how the devil do you GET the thing? I've got it in my kit but running through my gear only gives me access to the pistol and a satchel charge. Going through the kit gives me various rates of fire, grenades etc. But nowhere does it ask me if i want to grab up the laser. How do you do it? Yes its in my gear and yes the batteries too.

I know it's gonna be something stupid i'm doing so be nice ;)

You should have an action menu option to use your Laser Designator (or SOFLAM using ACE2).

Thanks Daniel. Ok, so I've lased the target, called in that the target is lased and have to wait how long for bombs to fall? 30 min. so far.....that can't be right. I'm missing something, obviously. Re the laser designator too :)

Maybe you need LGB equiped aircraft on you side in the air in your general area?

Well I'm playing the Red Harvest campaign and my first mission is to lase this comm center........so i'm assuming there are birds in the air. i must be doing something wrong.......

You need to lase THEN call them in the radio. Open the map and look for the radio or press 0-0-something

While on the same subject, do any of you know how exactly it works in multiplayer CTI? I assume you point at a target then switch the laser on but what then? What aircraft see the laser and how do you know which bombs/missiles will track using the laser?

you'd need to get yourself a buddy in a chopper/plane with hellfires/gbus, whether it be Ai or a team-mate.
