I can´t join to game

I have a problem with join to game.

Its say:

"This mission cannot been play/repair, depends on contents. Content cannot been download(was delete). Files ....... (on image).

Please help.

Hi you need a perticuler mod,map etc that they are using if ya look at the title or info box should give ya some kind of idea what.

Quick general guide. Download Yomas Addon Synch then use it to sychonise your addons with those in the community.

The major addon is something called ACE2.

You don't have to download ACE2 but the majority of servers I've found run it, to be honest it's worth getting anyway, it really enhances your gameplay and has new weapons and vehicles, peace.

Select Default servers in the menu.

Then choose one, look for one that runs Ace like Zeus or Kellys.

Add it to you favourites.

Now go to favourite servers and double click it.

Then select the Download Addons tab.

Press the Check for addons link. Let it find what addons you need.

Then press download addons (this will take a while as it is downloading thousands of new aircraft, soldiers, weapons, tanks, vehicles and islands and all the rest!) So go make a cup of coffee/pot of tea and read the newspaper.

I will add more in a second!

Select the Lauch Game Tab

If there are people playing on the server, in the bottom right hand corner select Launch ArmA.

Going further

You will need to sychronise once or twice a week with ACE as it is constantly updating and adding about 60 to 120MB per week!

You may need to synch with each server the first time! Most have ACE but many may have additional islands and other content too!

Ace 2 is big with lots of new toys and that download includes 3 or 4 new islands so it is worth it. You will only have one big download.

That server is fairly fast. What is your bandwidth?

Some files have error 404. Not found on the server. Is this problem for me ?

Just check for addons again any you have missed will show up then just Download any missing files. Yoma's is very forgiving ;) so you will not have to download everything from the start only the missing files will be down loaded.

You can also log on to the Zeus Team Speak server, see the MP player manual link in the first post. If there is a member of the community about they will give you hand.

Now you have several options.

Manual Options to join ACE only servers using a -mod shortcut.

1) First up, make an ArmA folder on your desktop.

2) Copy your ArmA Shortcut into it

3) Rename the Copy to "ArmA Vanilla"

4) Make another copy "ArmA Vanilla" in you ArmA Desktop folder

5) Rename the "Copy of ArmA Vanilla" to "ArmA Ace"

6) Right Click "ArmA Ace" select properties

7) Look at the target line it will say something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe"

8) After the quotes at the end of the line add this:

-mod=@cba;@ace;@acex

9) Now the whole line should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe"-mod=@cba;@ace;@acex

10) Click OK

You now have a Shortcut that will launch ArmA with ACE and let you play on ACE servers. Remember to use Yoma's to update ACE once or twice a week

To Play on the Zeus Server you need a Zeus shortcut! (This is because Zeus add things as well as ACE)

1) Make another copy "ArmA Vanilla" in you ArmA Desktop folder

4) Look at the target line it will say something like this:

You can make a short cut for every form of ArmA you run, I have additional ones for running ArmA in WWII mode, You can also have Scifi mods or Napoleonic warfare mods etc.

But Vanilla and ACE tends to cover most ArmA played in MP.

Have a play in the editor there are lots of new toys. ;) Including new Islands in the Zeus Common shortcut I recommend you try Duala.

You can also use Yoma's to launch ArmA on any server you have added to your Favourites without the hassle of creating shortcuts.

Next you need to find somewhere to play. You can just start up ArmA with ACE and join the ACE only servers you could not join before. Or use ArmA vanilla to join Vanilla servers. If you have read the Zeus manual you should now be able to identify the different forms of server. Or find a community of people playing your style of ArmA from the Squads and Fan pages section of the forum.

Why I cant only copy pbo files into addon folder ?

If all the addons go into one folder some files might be over written. Making ArmA useless.

In many cases a mod is altering the way ArmA works. So Wounding is different and more complex in ACE than in vanilla ArmA. You have bandages and morphine and other medical equipment. In ACE you have rucksacks and an advanced weight carrying simulation, carry too much and you fall down and black out. There are many other things it changes, like adding new weapon types such as crew served weapons that can be broken down into parts etc..

In a WWII MOD the the uniforms and vehicles are different. In a Napoleonic mod you only have single shot muskets or rifles and lots more smoke because of the use of black powder.

Sticking them all in together would make a big mess! And in most cases would crash ArmA.

Better to keep things in order.
