MancSpartan 10 Posted March 18, 2010 Hiya Guys Ive just started to play the role of Medic online and have a few questions. i) You have bandages and 2 types of syringes. Is there a case where you specifically select one over the other to treat a wounded soldier, or do you just select "revive" or "heal" all the time, and the game determines what item is used. ii) As all players have the capability to "revive" is there really any need for a Medic? iii) Is there any way to check the level of the players health you are treating? [GLT] Legislator 66 Posted March 19, 2010 First of all .. that's a mission related feature, not a game related feature. Considering you have played a mission using Norrin's revive script then 1) yes, there's only revive and heal, drag & drop ... depending on what option is enabled in the mission 2) Yes, because the revive can be related to the medic only as well as to all players .. depending on what option is enabled in the mission. Besides that the medic can still heal injured players 3) Nope
Evil_Echo 11 Posted March 19, 2010 It is related to the mission. But does sound like you are playing on a mission that uses ACE. If so... Morphine for pain. Epinepherine for no heart-beat. You can check the status of a player via the examine option in player interaction. More details on the ACE wiki/wagn pages.

galzohar 31 Posted March 19, 2010 As said this is very mission specific. In the basic game with no scripts, modules or addons all a medic does is heal wounded (but living) people to full health by using an action on them. With BIS first aid modules, there is also an "agony" state which is something in between "wounded" and "dead" where the player can't really do anything other than roll over and crawl - in this state anyone can heal him back into "wounded" mode (in which he can actually move/aim/shoot but is inaccurate due to injuries), but only a medic can heal him back to full health (before or after someone else "heals" him out of his "agony" state). In ACE missions using ACE wounding module there are all kinds of states and you need to check the ACE wiki for more information. When it comes to scripts (such as norrin's revive script) it can be just about anything - whatever the mission maker chose to script, but the basic actions your medic have will always depend on which (if any) wounding module is being used in the mission.
