Does each mod have to have its own directory? see example

Recommended Posts

In the case of using 3 different mods like GDT's Sun, Grass, and Plants, do they each have to have their own directory, or can I plop all the pbo's in a single directory and it will load them all up?

I'm now up to 30 @ folders in my Arma 2 game directory and it's getting a bit unwieldy.

For these 3 mods the following pbos are needed:

Sun = gdtmod_sun.pbo

Grass = gdtmod_grass.pbo

Plants = gdtmod_plants2_bush.pbo, gdtmod_plants2_clutter.pbo, gdtmod_plants2_misc.pbo, gdtmod_plants2_plant.pbo, gdtmod_plants2_tree.pbo

Thanks for the help! :)

put them into one folder and load them all up by loading the folder. so put these 3 pbos in one folder called GTD or something like that and load them with this folder!

I take all my 'permanent' mods and put them in one folder and have separate folders for other mods that I may not want to run at times so I can remove those folders from the -mod switch.

So the answer is yes, you can put more than one mod into a single folder. It also makes it easy to organize. For example I have an @islands folder where I place all island mods and a @units folder to place new units etc. The one thing you must follow is the location of any userconfig files. Place those according to the instructions of the mod maker.

Awesome. This will make things so much easier! I just wish I'd realized this a week ago. Thanks again for the confirmation responses. :D
