Destroying map objects or hard targets

I'm trying to do a dam busters mission, though, minus the Lancasters. :)

In testing, we first picked on the Podeba Dam and 3 of us in MP stacked dozens of satchels on it. When they went off, one player reported the dam broken, but the rest of us saw it intact. So that's the first issue. :(

Of course, the water doesn't flow through the breach which looks rubbish, so I decided to have the mission as an "attack the dam when it's being built" so that it could be dry. I created the dam in the editor, using setvector to get it level and setpos to line them all up.

But no matter what I threw at it, including spawning 114 GBUs on it, it wasn't destroyed. I also tried to set damage it, and that made no difference either. Allowdamage didn't help.

So is it actually possible to destroy objects like these, or am I going to have to replace it with a ruin of some sort when I detect lots of ordnance going off?

I've been trying to make this work regardless.

A built a brand new dam, and threw loads of ordnance at it, but it didn't get destroyed.

I tried spawning a vehicle *inside* the dam and doing getdamage on that with the intention of removing the dam when the vehicle took enough damage, but the vehicle jumped to outside the dam the moment the bombs went off, so that's not going to work.

Has anyone got any thoughts on how I might make this work?

I think it is one of the few objects in the game that can not be destroyed. I had the same issue with the radio tower near Zelenogorsk.

I wondered if that might be the case. Do you have any idea how much smoke 114 LGBs make? :D Cos that's how many I script dropped on it.
