What does these sliders change? (joystick page)

Recommended Posts

Sorry for posting such a stupid question. I just need some confirmation on what these do as I haven't quite seen the changes in-game when making adjustments.

Do these change the axis sensitivity?

Do these change the axis dead-zones?

Do these change the axis control limits?

Do they do something else?

Thanks for the clarification :)

Hello jpinard

I made a lot of experiments with the sliders with my X52 Pro and ended with editing the corresponding .cfg entries manualy.

In general this slider change the sensitivity curve

I set all axes exept slider and rotaries to 1.25 for more response and less need for great joystick movements.

You can make for a completly new steering experience with the full saitek pro flight gear by tweaking the single values.

Thanks. BTW, how does your throttle work for you? I'm having a terible time trying to get mine configured so it works well with both the helicopters and jets. Could I get you to post your X52 profile and your config file? or maybe e-mail them to me? You can pm me and I'll send you my e-mail addy.

Thanks! :)

...and what does stick axis mean vs. stick rotate? For example, the z axis doesn't rotate...

This is the part of the armaprofile that i have changed. I dont use a profiler Profile for ArmA2. You have to keep in mind that the throttle does not work like a real throttle but more like a gas-brake axis...this is hardcoded and cant be changed, but can be tweaked so that the gas range is more responsive compared to the brake range.

ughh, no wonder the throttle control is so horrible. Thanks for the numbers! I'll paste them over my settings.
