Odd Mission problem

Recommended Posts

Hello there, long time user (OpF originally) first time poster :)

I have created a mission for mulitplayer use (only a 2 player co-op) which when exported to single player, works fine; but when exported to multiplayer (for a one player test on respawns etc) the game hangs on the mission briefing screen. I can't select the notes/tasks/player list, nor zoom in or out of the map.

As I said, it works fine single player, but not on an LAN test (or internet test).

It seems to be loading something judging by task manager, but never stops.

The mission file size is 38mb (a lot of custom music) - would this be the problem? I can't think why it would be!

Any help much appreciated :)

Hi and welcome to forum, yeah 38mb mission is indeed a bit to big i guess.

are the music files .ogg files?but prob is its to big to play in MP,would take forever to load, normal missions are usually around 1mb.

Well I have done missions of 10-20mb before with no problem (mission is sent to the other person first to install, not transferred).

The music files are .ogg, yes - what I don't understand is why it works in single player and not multiplayer (with no other players being in the game).

Yes, created in the editor and exported to multiplayer.

Does anyone know of a MP file size limit?

Ok, update - reduced mission to 17mb by lowering sound quality of oggs. However, it still hangs on the briefing screen not loading up the tasks etc.

A 14mb mission loads fine - so not size. I am puzzled.
