I think OFP would b the peftect game to have a star wars mod... i mean, think bout it, u could b imp, rebels, or pirates (or sumtin like that), and get in the huge ATATs, reb tanks, and what not...

well, just an idea for a mod, though im sure that if anyone is planning on doing one they have already started or will soon start...

just my 2 cents worth

It should be proper StarWars, as the first three films. Not the new happy Disney crap in Episode 1 confused.gif

Could someone please hurry and make this? I can't be bothered but would love playing it biggrin.gif

I've been playing Jedi Knight II lately, when you play the first few levels, with blaster rifles, it's just the same old quake 3 stuff. But when you get the force's and a light sabre, it becomes fun biggrin.gif

If any ones going to make this MOD put the force in it biggrin.gif

OFP engine would be nice for the Giant battles with the at's and larger units but when you come down to Close quarter combat in a building it would not be that great.

OFP would be great for it (vehicles, jump in an AT-ST or AT-AT) or jump in a fighter (x-wing for a fighter, y-wing for a bomber, tie fighter for a fighter, tie bomber for a bomber) then the only problem would be light sabers which everyone would be pouting for smile.gif

a far out mod but might be fun

One question, is it possible to fight witch a sword/lightsable?? can you defend with it?

It's possible appraently but defence is strictly a case of standing there and letting him defend himself. Not like the old Prince of Persia days when you actually could parry and thrust (wilful sigh). No I agree most of the recent quake 3 engined FPS have been strangely shallow (MOHAA, Jedi Knight II, Ret. to Castle Wolfenstein)......

I doubt it. I don't think the game engine was designed with such purpose in mind.

Star Wars are cool, I just wish every game out there didn't have people asking for mods.

Are you talking about Jedi Knight II, or Star Wars MOD?

In Jedi Knight II: Yeah, just stand there, but the lightsabres will sort of stick together once in a while, and you will automatically try to push your enemy's sabre away. Sometimes you loose your sabre, sometimes your enemy does, just press the left mouse button to pull your sabre back to your hand (it's so cool when this happens). You can also use force push and pull in close combat situations that I described above.

As for a Starwars MOD. I doubt close combat like that would not be possible. I remember an interview with BIS. Someone asked will we get knives in OFP, and they replied,

"Oh now you want beat em ups in the game!" biggrin.gif

Well I just answered for both.

There is no starwars MOD yet. No light sabres, so I wouldn't know if you can fight or defend with one in a Star Wars MOD for OFP.

I hope you're wrong, because i have the plan to make a MOD about the middle age. without swords it really difficult to make a mod about the middle age sad.gif

But I also think that it isn't possible.

i wasnt really thinking about having Jedi in a Star Wars mod, cause of the obvious lightsaber and force problems.

in fact, the main reason id like to have a SW mod is so i can be a storm trooper (it has always looked like so much fun). and close combat would b good too, or at least as close as rifle range is concerned. and i even found a SW sniper rifle... ooooo, the possibilities...

if i was a mod maker, i would attempt this, but im not.

o yes, and if it were to become a game itself, id be willing to buy it.

argh!!! i want it so bad!! but..... i cant have it (yet)...

*sigh*

Yeah you gotta be careful though.

Look at Galactic Battlegrounds. That was just Age of Kings with Starwars graphics. I think OFP would fall into the same trap. There would have to be many code overhauls for Starwars to play like it should, in open field combat.

Allowing single units to fire multiple weapons would be a start. Those big 'Walkers' would look retarded if they could only fire the head Bolters. (rather than the 20+ lasers on the sides)

You can stick to bow and arrows, cross bows and catapults (maybe).

Edit: Although saying that, in Black Barons' Terminator addon, when you run out of ammo, you get another weapon which is called weapon strike. It allows you to hit soldiers at close range with your weapon and kill them. Although it's a bit tricky to actully kill someone, and it looks strange. I don't know if you can actually make sword fights unless you add completely new animations.

i thought about that, and i was thinking that you could change weapons on say an ATAT or ATST the same way u do with tanks now. i mean, it makes sence, and it would possibly work (as far as i know it would). and to make actual "lasers", you should (should cause im not sure if u can) be able to make every shot b a red tracer and what not.

ah, there goes another 2 cents!
