frag 0 Posted January 24, 2010 Hi guys, I really searched all around the forum with no success. My question is pretty simple: I have an AI Harrier on the deck of the LHD and I want it to takeoff. I tried to put a waypoint far away with a Seek and Destroy order. The plane does not move .... but it works with any choppers though. Is there a specific place on the deck where I need to position the plane for beeing able to take-off?
W0lle 1052 Posted January 24, 2010 I'm afraid that it won't work. The AI has not learnt how to takeoff with the Harrier from the LHD. They can only takeoff from Airports with fastmovers. ;) You could try to work with the setVelocity command and push them off the Deck but I guess they sooner or later crash their planes when in the air. The problem here is that the Flightdeck of the LHD is no real "runway" the AI can use but just a static object like buildings.
thebarricade 7 Posted January 25, 2010 I haven't tested it, but my take-off script might be able to do it... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=93921 (Use the RATO-switch for an extra boost)
Kamakazi 11 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) A quick search http://forums.bistudio.com/search.php?searchid=687016 first one looks good to go, a might not be what you want but its a start. Harriers & the New USMC jets usually take off conventionaly and can land Vertically - VTOL Can the AI use the VTOL??? Tyronster 10 Posted January 25, 2010 Hopefully they will fix it in a future patch.
