sammclean23 10 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Hi, Just installed Arma 2 and I've noticed, not so much when running, but when stood still that the player seems to jolt but un naturally. Like jolting forward. This is not fps stutter. Any ideas? Disabling post-process effects solves this. dmarkwick 261 Posted January 17, 2010 Jolt as in a sudden movement? Is the player actually moving or is it a visual glitch? I might suspect some controller to be randomly firing a move signal if the former. I had to disable a 3DConnexion controller manually in several games for this reason, so check out whatever you've got plugged in :)

I hope you know what I mean because it's hard to explain :)
TheMantis 10 Posted January 17, 2010 1. When the jolt happens are there any artifacts on the screen? 2. Are the textures changing on close objects at the same time as the jolt?
sammclean23 10 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Going to record with FRAPS to show you guys ---------- Post added at 12:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:34 AM ---------- Okay heres the vid: You may have to look closer to see it properly because youtube reduces the size. ---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:16 PM ---------- anyone any idea??? ---------- Post added at 01:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ---------- sorry to triple post I just really want to get this sorted Edited January 17, 2010 by sammclean23
dmarkwick 261 Posted January 17, 2010 Hmm yeah, the Youtube does reduce the effect but I think I can see it, particularly just after you turn slightly at the end. Definitely looks like a graphic glitch. Do you get the same effect using NO addons whatsoever (including TrackIR if you have it)? I see you've changed the vid card drivers. You might wish to select different view resolutions and rendering settings, try it Windowed/fullscreen, stuff like that.
CharlieMike24 0 Posted January 17, 2010 TrackIR quite often gives this appearance, settles after I re-centre (default key F12). If you're not using TrackIR, then I don't know..... :)
sammclean23 10 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Interestingly....when i disable the post-processign effects this graphical problem disappears? oh and. Im not using track IR although un plugging my game pad made no change. Thanks for the replies it is greatly appreciated Edited January 17, 2010 by sammclean23
dmarkwick 261 Posted January 17, 2010 Ah, OK, I have PP completely disabled in my install (I just don't like it, rather have the vid card motor on the rest of the graphics ;)) but if that's your fix, I guess you'll need to run it PP-free and raise a bug report or something. As for the flickering SLI, I have zero knowledge on SLI I'm afraid. Does it have it's own set of nVidia settings you can fiddle with?
