How to "Shut up" a unit?

Recommended Posts

As you'll knon ArmA II has a feature of making nearby soldiers/units talk eachother... Well that isn't good when you're using camera.. 'cause when you're making a movie or somethign in a scene with a captive, it's not good that he salutes who're about to kill him :p

Now to the point, how to to shut 'em up?

I didin't realize that saying HT(and then a "F") was an infraction

Also, if you want to stop units reporting targets and the like, try:

enableSentences false

Thaks to you both guys!

Now, this is just a doubt, how to make YOU start a mission in PRONE and that you cannot stand up until something happends?

No worries. As far as I know there is no way to change a players stance without using animations. Any unit not under player control can of course be forced to stand, crouch and go prone with the 'setunitpos' command but this will not work on player units.

Its not possible to force the player in a specific position. I once made a mission where I wanted the player to start in a prone position. I had to make a workaround.

- In the mission editor I placed 2 units: one as the player, an another one as playable.

Starting the mission I did a little script:

- Screen goes black for few seconds. While is is black I:

1. Make the playable unit (actually controlled by the AI) to go in prone position.

2. Switch the player in the playable unit.

3. Delete the original player.

4. Put back the screen in visible mode.

Does this work for Civilian group leaders giving way-point move orders ?
