jw custom 56 Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) Was wondering if someone was up for a coop game this coming weekend? If enough people are interested i'm gonna host. Game info: Max. 10 players. No crosshair No 3D View 2 special forces teams of 5 players. Using BIS First Aid modules (NO respawn so rambo types are not wanted). 6 Randomly placed objectives(it's simple destroy objectives for now). A few vehicle for transport between base and objectives(+ Ambient Civilian Vehicles). The 2 teamleaders can call in mortar support every 20 min. Weapon crate available at base incl. ACE weapons and gear. Mission is played on Chernarus. Required addons: ACE 2 (ACE/ACEX/CBA) UK: Special Forces 1.1 People located in europe are prefered to avoid lag :) Post here if your interested in paticipating, more info will come later. galzohar 31 Posted January 6, 2010 What stops you from just sitting in the base and calling in mortars on the objectives until it's all over though? :) Also, to get better gameplay, you may want to consider something not 100% random - Due to how bad of an island Chernarus is, random placement will most likely end in a place that makes no sense, and that's if you get lucky and it doesn't get clipped to a tree or something. Also, driving to the other side of Chernarus is not a whole lot of fun IMO, there are other games for people who want to play taxi drivers (or taxi clients), that is, assuming it's actually totally random and can be anywhere. You can only use mortar support once every 20 minutes so it would be really boring and the mortars are not 100% accurate so there a great change they won't even hit the objectives. What would be the point of sitting in base anyways  The Objecives are not 100% randomly but randomly placed between predifined spawns. I'm aware that objects often are placed half-through fences, walls and whatnot just using the placement radius :) P.S. the mission is only using a little part of the Chernarus, that be the area around the airfield :) Edited January 6, 2010 by JW Custom
jw custom 56 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) More info. Now using UK: Special Forces units The two teams: Team Alpha Team Leader Medic 1 Medic 2 MG Support AT / Demo Team Bravo Team Leader Medic 1 Medic 2 MG Support AT / Demo I've seen many people bitching about respawn, crosshair, teleport, no teamwork etc. etc. so this is your chance pick your role in this specOps mission :) The 2 teams can chose to coop or operate independently thats up to the team leaders to decide. Mission end when all six objectives are complete. Edited January 7, 2010 by JW Custom
galzohar 31 Posted January 7, 2010 I have to say I'm not a big fan about this "errand boy" kind of missions (one objective over here, one objective way over there, and most of the time in the mission is spent traveling between them).
jw custom 56 Posted January 7, 2010 I've been testing the mission and it only takes a few minutes to drive to the objectives. So the teams plans which target(s) to approach and how to approach it, gear up and do the job. Then if needed going back to base to rearm before taking off to next target. The idea is having a mission that takes a while to play through! P.S. no one is forcing you to play along ;)
galzohar 31 Posted January 7, 2010 Just making suggestions ;) Also a mission taking a while is not nescessary for it to be fun, if the objective positions are random, other than difficulty there is little difference between 1 mission with 5 objectives to the same mission 5 times with random objectives, or even just 5 different versions of the mission. Saves on annoying travel times ;)

Saves on annoying travel times ;) It's not about just getting the objectives done it's about planning how to approach, finding the best way to get there. I could easily place a group of men 200m from a objective but i don't find that very exciting. You keep talk about travel but it doesn't take long, it's not like it's Domination ;) I probably wont host the game anyways it seems theres no interest so no worries :)
